Deputies arrest 2 suspects after stolen forklift, truck found
Two arrests were made in connection to a weekend string of thefts in Salisbury, where a stolen forklift was allegedly used to move a stolen Ford Ranger filled with pilfered items, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.
Four men charged in construction theft
Deputies responded to a report of a stolen forklift on Sunday and later found it being operated by Richard Casey Webb and Christy Lane Tipton on Cooper Road. Webb used the forklift to move a stolen Ford Ranger, which was later found with stolen items in its bed, the sheriff's office stated in a news release.
Witnesses reported seeing Webb drive a Ford Ranger pickup to Karriker Farm Road, where he allegedly stole the forklift. He then used the forklift to lift the Ford Ranger and remove it from the area.
The Ford Ranger was discovered in a wooded area off Deal Road, containing several items confirmed to be stolen from other locations.
Webb and Tipton were charged with possession of the stolen forklift. Additionally, Webb was charged with damage to real property for damaging a field while driving the Ford Ranger into the woods, the sheriff's office said.
Both suspects were placed in the Rowan County Detention Center. Tipton received a $1,000 secured bond, while Webb was held without bond due to the pretrial integrity act.

Trial set for dad and son accused of boy's death
A trial date has been set for a father and son charged with murder following a crash in Kent in which a four-year-old family member died. Patrick Maughan, 53, and Owen Maughan, 27, both from Hill Rise, Darenth, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, each facing four charges. They are accused of the murder of four-year-old Peter Maughan, causing grievous bodily harm to Peter's father, Lovell Mahon, 24, and the attempted wounding with intent of Peter's mother, Hayley Maughan, and a one-year-old girl. Patrick Maughan and Owen Maughan will remain in custody until a plea and trial preparation hearing at the same court on 7 July. Mr Mahon, who remains in hospital in a critical condition, and the two children were travelling in the same car. The charges relate to a crash involving two Ford Ranger pick-up trucks in New Barn Road, Dartford, shortly before 21:30 BST on Sunday. Owen Maughan has accepted that he was driving a vehicle at the time of the crash, while Patrick Maughan has accepted he was a passenger. The pair appeared in court of Friday via separate video links from HMP Elmley. A provisional trial date has been set for 2 February and is expected to last four weeks. Driver flown to hospital after vehicles collide in Champaign Co. collision
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two vehicles collided and hit a third vehicle in Champaign County Wednesday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post is investigating a crash that was reported around 1:30 p.m. around the area of East Kanagy Road and Ludlow Road in Salem Township. Funeral services held for Morrow County deputy fatally shot on Memorial Day Investigation revealed a 1999 Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Ludlow Road when a 2017 International MA025 truck traveling westbound on Kanagy Road failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicles collided and traveled off the side of the road, where the MA025 truck overturned. The Ford Ranger struck an unoccupied 2016 Cadillac SRX that was parked on private property. The Ford Ranger driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight for a serious, non-life-threatening injury, according to OSP.
