White House 'Drops' New Official Trump Portrait Sparking Floods of Alternative Options

The White House unveiled President Donald Trump's new official portrait, but social media users had their own ideas.
The White House revealed a new official portrait of President Donald Trump on Monday, inspiring social media users to recommend portraits they found more fitting.
The White House shared video of the portrait being hung on X, where users flooded the replies with alternatives.
Many of the suggestions referenced tacos and chickens following Trump's meltdown last week when a reporter asked what he thought of Wall Street analysts who nicknamed him "TACO," an acronym inspired by Trump's tariff rollercoaster that stands for "Trump always chickens out."
Another user— also inspired by a Trump tantrum — recommended hanging a portrait of the president that was formerly hanging in Colorado's state Capitol. In March, Trump called the painting "purposefully distorted," criticizing the artist and Governor Jared Polis, claiming "many people" wrote him to complain.

Another proposed a photo of Trump, seemingly asleep at the funeral for Pope Francis in April.
Other pitches required less background knowledge. Through the magic of AI, users submitted Trump as a clown, or devil.

Among those advocating for unserious options, supporters of the president praised the portrait as "badass," "good looking," and "powerful." Even among his biggest fans, some had ideas for taking the presidential portrait to the next level, floating an image of Trump with white Jesus hands on his shoulders, or stating, "What if every house in the U.S. had to have this portrait!"
The White House has not responded to any of the comments collecting beneath its latest post.

Ukraine: Trump says Putin vows 'response' to airfield attack – DW – 06/04/2025

US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. According to a post on Trump's Truth Social, the two spoke about Ukraine and the recent attack on Russian airfields. Meanwhile, Germany is making a new attempt on the international stage to strengthen and maintain Ukraine's air defense. To this end, the multinational "Immediate Action on Air Defense" initiative is set to be relaunched, said Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Brussels. And Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia gave Ukraine "an ultimatum" during the latest round of talks in Istanbul. However, the Ukrainian leader said that he is ready to hold direct talks with Putin and Trump "any day." Here are the main developments in Russia's war in Ukraine from Wednesday, June 4, 2025:

Trump Has Taken Fewer Briefings Than Biden and Obama. Now Officials Are Turning to Fox News for Inspiration: Report

President Donald Trump has received significantly fewer intelligence briefings than his predecessors, and now officials are considering remaking the President's Daily Brief (PDB) to resemble a Fox News broadcast in an effort to capture his attention. The PDB is a classified intelligence document designed to keep the commander-in-chief informed on pressing global and national security issues. Traditionally a written and sometimes graphical document, the PDB has been tailored in past instances to presidents' personal preferences. Trump has reportedly taken the PDB just 14 times since returning to office, according to NBC News. That's far fewer than the 55 briefings he received during a similar period in his first term, or the 90 and 63 briefings taken by Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, respectively. Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence, is now leading an effort to overhaul how the PDB is delivered. According to five sources familiar with the internal deliberations, Gabbard and her team have discussed presenting the daily intelligence update in video form, styled like a Fox News segment. Some proposals have included hiring a producer from the network and using animated graphics—such as maps showing exploding bombs—to capture Trump's attention. Other tweaks under discussion include focusing more on topics Trump cares about, such as trade and the economy, while downplaying coverage of the war in Ukraine. Despite a spokesperson dismissing NBC's report as "laughable" and "fake news," sources inside the intelligence community say the changes reflect broader efforts by Gabbard to reform the PDB and build trust with a distrusting president. Gabbard is reportedly planning to relocate the PDB's production from CIA headquarters in Langley to her own office in McLean to consolidate oversight. As the reforms unfold, intelligence officials and congressional overseers remain divided over whether the changes are innovative or dangerously partisan. President Donald Trump is allegedly enraged after his ally Elon Musk took to social media to denounce his "one big, beautiful" spending bill. "Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade began talking about Trump's sentiments towards the Tesla CEO during the show on Wednesday. "I think the Elon Musk thing really caught the president by surprise," Kilmeade said. "And I hear he is furious!" "I think he's so smart to keep his powder dry," Kilmeade said. "Because it just plays into what critics would have to say, 'The right can't get out of their own way.' Instead, you have a goal: Pass it. Elon Musk is not in the Senate or the House. Don't worry about it." Lawrence Jones, another host of the show, weighed in with his own opinions. "I don't think Elon is anti-MAGA now, or anti-the president now," Jones said. "He worked so hard, put a lot of stuff on the line to get a lot wasteful stuff cut." Co-host Ainsley Earhardt then said she was "shocked to hear him say that." She continued, "I can understand why the president would not be happy about that." Musk took to social media with a scathing condemnation of the Trump-backed GOP spending bill on Tuesday. "I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination," wrote the world's wealthiest man. "Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it." I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong.
