#SHOWBIZ: Nabila Huda: I just want Papa's love, not eyeing his property
KUALA LUMPUR: "Who? I feel disgusted even hearing that word (stepmother). It's sickening."
That was actress Nabila Huda's visceral reaction when questioned about her stepmother's claims that her relationship with her father, rock legend Datuk Amy Search, has been strained for several years.
Nabila insists her relationship with Amy remains strong, blaming "this certain person" (her stepmother) as the instigator of the ongoing family discord.
"People keep thinking I'm constantly at odds with Papa, that we're always fighting. That's simply not true. "We're fine; there's no major conflict. The problem lies with this person," Nabila asserted, her voice dripping with disdain for the term "stepmother."
"I'm sorry, but that word makes me want to throw up. I have only one mother, and she was my father's first love."
"As for everything that has happened... what can I even say about that woman?" she lamented at the gala night and premiere of her latest film, Gayong, in the capital yesterday.
Nabila's recent social media posts, including a tearful embrace with Amy, had previously tugged at the heartstrings of netizens.
She also uploaded a video expressing her longing for Amy after a year-long separation, captured during a phone call when her father appeared as a guest on the Hot FM radio show.
Now, Nabila is urging her stepmother to cease any actions that further complicate the already tense situation.
"Oh, that woman, I want you to know that I'm aware of all your secrets. I know everything that has transpired," Nabila said.
"So, stop what you're doing. We're not concerned with titles or status; what matters is basic decency."
"And for your information, the entire industry finds you abhorrent. Everyone is uncomfortable in your presence," she claimed.
Nabila stressed that the door to reconciliation remains open, imploring her stepmother to abandon her negative attitude, emphasising that all she desires is her father's affection.
"Don't worry; I have no interest in my father's wealth. I'm self-sufficient and don't need any of that," Nabila said.
"I simply want a father's love. Why is that so difficult for you to accept? Stop being jealous and discard your toxic behaviour. We only have one life, and it's fleeting."
"Before things escalate further, it would be wise to stop, before more people uncover your true nature. Siapa makan cili, dia terasa pedas (If the shoe fits, wear it)," she said.
