Former Coronation Street actor joins Hollywood stars as they start filming Sky Christmas movie
A former Coronation Street actor is amongst the stars currently filming in North Yorkshire as part of a new Sky Christmas film which will be aired later this year.
The film, which is called Tinsel Town and is set to air on Sky later this year, features a host of Hollywood stars including award-winning actor Kiefer Sutherland and actress, writer and producer, Rebel Wilson.
Many will know the Canadian star and son of Donald Sutherland for his long-running role as Jack Bauer in the series '24'. He also played President Tom Kirkman in the political drama series, Designated Survivor.

Fans will also recognise former Coronation Street and Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount, and Salford-born comedian Jason Manford on the star-studded lineup.
The film follows award-winning actor Kiefer Sutherland as Bradley Mack, a failed Hollywood actor who ends up in a small, snow-dusted UK village to star in the town's production of Cinderella.
He ends up encountering a colourful cast of locals who he eventually warms to, including no-nonsense choreographer Jill played by Rebel Wilson.
Speaking about the new festive film Kiefer Sutherland said: 'I'm thrilled to be working back in the UK and with director Chris Foggin. The cast is fantastic, and I can't wait to tell this story.'
Rebel Wilson added: "I love British Christmas movies - because in Australia we're just on the beach having a BBQ - and so now I feel like I get to have a classic British Christmas - freezing my t*** off but laughing and sledding all the way!'
Filming for the Christmas rom-com has been taking place across the North of England and and at Leeds' Versa Studios.
This week the North Yorkshire town of Wetherby has been transformed into a winter wonderland complete with festive decorations and a sprinkling of artificial snow for the movie.
The festive caper boasts an extensive A-list cast, which also includes Gladiator II star Derek Jacobi, Jason Manford, Danny Dyer and former Coronation Street star Lucien Laviscount.
Mawaan Rizwan, Maria Friedman, Asim Chaudhry, Ray Fearon, Alice Eve, James Lance, Meera Syal, Katherine Ryan, and Savannah Lee Smith have all been confirmed as starring in the show too.
Robbie Williams' daughter Teddy was also pictured filming on set of the upcoming Christmas movie on Monday (February 17).

Also pictured on set, comedian Jason Manford can be seen with Rebel as the snow falls down on the North Yorkshire filming location. He can be seen sporting a green puppet ensemble and a pair of sunglasses.
Directed by Chris Foggin, known for the 2023 Netflix comedy drama Bank of Dave, Tinsel Town will be available to stream on Sky Cinema at Christmas 2025.
Meanwhile, in another shot from behind the scenes, Lucien Laviscount, who played Ben Richardson on the ITV soap Coronation Street from 2009 to 2010, is shown being fitted with a cape.
Tinsel Town was commissioned and developed by Sky in association with Future Artists Entertainment. Mister Smith Entertainment will launch worldwide sales at the upcoming European Film Market.
Directed by Chris Foggin, known for the 2023 Netflix comedy drama Bank of Dave, Tinsel Town will be available to stream on Sky Cinema at Christmas 2025.

Shuttered auction house faces million-dollar comic book lawsuit
CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A Cranston auction house has been tied up in a lawsuit for years after a Canadian comic book collector says thousands of his valuable collectibles seemingly disappeared without fair compensation. In 2020, Bernie Arsenault filed a lawsuit in federal court that names Kevin Bruneau, Travis Landry and Ashle Tortolani from Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers as defendants. Arsenault says he hired the auction house to sell 42,400 of his comic books in 2018, after Landry's multiple appearances on 'Antiques Roadshow' as an expert appraiser convinced him of Bruneau & Co.'s prominent reputation. According to Arsenault, Bruneau told him it would take three or four years to sell the entire collection. 'He said, 'You know, this would be like an annuity,'' explained Arsenault. He told Target 12 he was planning on using the money for his retirement. The lawsuit alleges Arsenault entered into a consignment contract with the company under which they would sell his comic books and keep 25% of the profit, while the remaining money after fees and costs would go back to Arsenault. For a while, he said, 'Everything seemed to be good.' Court documents show that Arsenault received more than $10,000 in checks from the auction house between 2018 and 2020. But the collector became suspicious when some of the checks didn't have any information about which specific comic books were sold and for what price. At first, he sent a letter to Bruneau & Co. asking the company to terminate their contract and send the remaining comic books back to him. When that didn't work out, he decided to file the lawsuit. 'At first it was the monetary, but at this stage of the game, it's now just about justice,' he said. Bruneau's attorney, Stephen Levesque, disputes the allegations made against his client and says Bruneau followed the terms of the agreement. Levesque says the company sold some of the books at a handful of auctions and sent the remaining books back to Arsenault. Levesque also claims that the collection was not worth $1 million as Arsenault claims, valuing it instead around $20,000. The lawsuit was scheduled to go to trial this year, but Bruneau filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in February, which put the trial on hold. Target 12 found more than 50 creditors listed on the filing, which claims Bruneau owes more than $700,000 — mainly to people who consigned with him. 'It's a sad thing. I know that I didn't lose as much as other people,' Stowe said. Linda Bowers also relied on the auction house to sell her father's antique guns last summer and didn't receive the $3,200 payment that she was owed. 'It's time-consuming and it's frustrating,' she said. Target 12 reached out to Landry and Tortolani for a comment, but hasn't heard back. The bankruptcy case is still ongoing, but those typically take months. Once Bruneau & Co.'s bankruptcy is finalized, Arsenault's case will likely go to trial. Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds become co-owners of Australia SailGP team

The actors, who are close friends, join Olympic gold medallist and driver Tom Slingsby at the helm of a team which was rebranded the "Flying Roos". Advertisement "We're incredibly excited to set sail together in this new adventure," the Australian Jackman and Canadian-American Reynolds said in a statement. "Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country, as well as being an avid fan of sailing. "He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride. Apologies in advance to Australia." Jackman and Reynolds starred together last year in the blockbuster movie "Deadpool & Wolverine". Reynolds also owns Welsh football club Wrexham along with fellow actor Rob McElhenney. SailGP stages regattas close to shore with identical high-performance, foiling, multi-hull boats that can reach speeds of 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph).
