How to watch Clemson baseball vs Davidson today and this weekend: Time, TV info Clemson welcomes Davidson College today for a three-game series. Here's how you can watch.
Clemson baseball has one last nonconference weekend series before ACC play begins next weekend against Notre Dame.
Clemson (12-1 overall), ranked No. 4 in Perfect Game's Top 25 and No. 7 in this week's USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, hosts the Davidson Wildcats (4-7 overall) this weekend at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers posted a 7-0 shutout win over USC Upstate and an 11-2 win over Presbyterian in midweek play.
That followed a dominant series sweep of rival South Carolina in this year's Palmetto Series. Clemson pitching dominated the series by holding the Gamecocks to six runs total in the three games while the offense got big at-bats from Cam Cannarella, Jarren Purify, and transfer portal additions Collin Priest and Luke Gaffney.
Priest, a transfer from Michigan, hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning of Sunday's 8-2 win over South Carolina. Cannarella added a two-run single in the ninth inning of that game to help Clemson finish off the sweep. Purify hit a solo home run in the seventh inning in Friday's 5-3 win against the Gamecocks and followed it up with a clutch ninth-inning double in the Tigers' 5-1 win on Saturday in Greenville. Cannarella had an RBI double earlier in the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie.
On the mound, left-hander Ethan Darden escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the first inning last Saturday and went on to toss seven shutout innings. Darden scattered three hits and walked two while striking out six batters. Left-hander Justin LeGuernic started and threw four shutout innings Sunday in Columbia, allowing two hits and striking out six.
Davidson took two of three from Lafayette College (Pa.) last weekend and fell 7-3 to South Carolina on Tuesday. Jamie Daly leads the Wildcats with a .395 average, three home runs and .521 on-base percentage.
Right-hander Aidan Knaak (1-0, 5.93 ERA) will start Friday's series opener for Clemson against right-hander Wilson Perkins with Darden (2-0, 1.06) scheduled to make Saturday's start against fellow left-hander Isaac Fix. LeGuernic is scheduled to start Sunday's fine.

Alabama's opponent for 2025 SEC-ACC Basketball Challenge revealed

Alabama's opponent for 2025 SEC-ACC Basketball Challenge revealed Alabama basketball has reportedly learned its opponent for the annual SEC-ACC Challenge. CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported Wednesday that Nate Oats' Crimson Tide will take on coach Brad Brownell and the Clemson Tigers at Coleman Coliseum in the 2025 SEC-ACC Challenge. An official date and start time were not announced. The matchup between Alabama and Clemson will be a rematch of teams who met twice during the 2023-24 season, most notably in the West Region final of the Elite Eight in Los Angeles. The Crimson Tide punched their first-ever ticket to the Final Four with an 89-82 win over the Tigers at Arena (Staples Center) on March 30, 2024. Alabama made 16 3-pointers in the victory, getting a game-high 23 points from Mark Sears, who made 7-of-14 shots from beyond the arc, and 19 points off the bench from Jarin Stevenson. Alabama and Clemson previously met in the 2023-24 regular season on Nov. 28 in Coleman Coliseum, an 85-77 Tigers victory in that year's SEC-ACC Challenge. One of Tigers' star players from their 2024 run to the Elite Eight, forward Ian Schieffelin, recently joined Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football team as a tight end. Last year, Alabama defeated North Carolina in the SEC-ACC Challenge, 94-79 in Chapel Hill behind 20 points from Sears and 15 apiece from Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway. Philon recently announced his decision to withdraw from the 2025 NBA draft and return to Tuscaloosa for his sophomore season. As part of their 2024-25 schedule, the Crimson Tide will also face Illinois in Chicago, Purdue at Coleman Coliseum, Rick Pitino's St. John's Red Storm at Madison Square Garden, and the Arizona Wildcats at Legacy Arena in Birmingham among other nonconference foes. Alabama finished 28-9 last season and reached the Elite Eight before falling to Duke in the East Region final in Newark. The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 6 in the final USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Clemson went 27-7 overall and 18-2 in ACC play and was a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers fell to McNeese State, 69-67, in a first-round upset in Providence, Rhode Island. Clemson was ranked No. 23 in the final Coaches Poll. Contact/Follow us @RollTideWire on X, and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Alabama news, notes and opinions.

Christian McCaffrey: "I feel great" after injury-riddled 2024 season

After struggling through multiple injuries in 2024, running back Christian McCaffrey is healthy as the 49ers complete their offseason program this week. A day after head coach Kyle Shanahan called him 'a psycho in a good way,' McCaffrey told reporters that he's feeling great entering the summer break. 'I think this offseason I spent a lot of time kind of building back a base starting from scratch, so a lot of it was rehab,' McCaffrey said, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN, 'and [I] wanted to put myself in a position where I didn't miss a day of OTAs and I could practice and play football again, be healthy and not miss a day, and I did that.' In just four games last season, McCaffrey rushed for 202 yards and caught 15 passes for 146 yards. When he won AP offensive player of the year in 2023, McCaffrey led the league with 1,459 yards rushing, 339 touches, 2,023 yards from scrimmage, and 23 total touchdowns.

UFC on ESPN 69's Cody Garbrandt says Sean O'Malley 'looked like sh*t' in title fight loss

UFC on ESPN 69's Cody Garbrandt says Sean O'Malley 'looked like sh*t' in title fight loss ATLANTA – Cody Garbrandt is fully focused on getting back on track with a UFC on ESPN 69 win over Raoni Barcelos on Saturday, but if he gets it done, a big fight could await. Former UFC bantamweight champ Garbrandt (14-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) competes for the first time since UFC 300 in April 2024 when he takes on Barcelos (19-5 MMA, 8-4 UFC) at State Farm Arena (ESPN, ESPN+). It's an important bout for him, especially after recently signing a new multi-fight contract with the promotion. If Garbrandt can pull off something spectacular this weekend, as he has many times before, then it's hard not to consider a potential showdown with Sean O'Malley, who he once had a heated press conference exchange with and has since fired many verbal and social media shots toward. With O'Malley on a two-fight losing streak after consecutive title losses to champ Merab Dvalishvili, most recently at UFC 316 this month, it could be a potentially good time for the pair to settle their differences. "He should've kept smoking because he looked like sh*t," Garbrandt told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday's media day. "Whatever you have to do. Sometimes you lose and you try to reinvent yourself and find yourself. At the end of the day, you know who you are, you know what you've got to do. I know I'm one of the best fighters in the world. When you lose you've got everyone in your ear saying you've got to do this and you've got to do that. Just remember what got you there and who you are the end of the day. I think that's a huge fight and pay-per-view sale, Sean and I. But I'm focused on this fight this Saturday and then we'll let everything else fall in line." After dealing with some health issues including vertigo, Garbrandt, 33, said this is "the best I've felt in a while" due to mental and emotionally clarity. He hopes that translated into the octagon, because while his reign as champion is now many years ago and there's been many ups and downs since then, Garbrandt admits he doesn't have satisfaction with his career. "I'm a former world champion – yeah, that's great," Garbrandt said. "It's something that was amazing to accomplish, but it didn't fulfilled me. For me to be here, going through what I've gone through (with) the injuries, setbacks, losses – whatever you want to call it. To wake up every day and chase this dream, to push yourself to a limit and set goals inside of the fight career, it's something that wakes me up every day. It motivates me, it scares me and fills me with all different kinds of emotions to get in there and fight another man that's willing to do whatever to get the win."
