The Los Angeles Clippers officially missed out on Kevin Durant this weekend as the Phoenix Suns dealt him to the Houston Rockets.

With potentially the biggest name on this offseason's trade market now having found a new team, the Clippers are left to look for alternatives who they believe can help them take the next step into the top of the Western Conference.
Bleacher Report's Timothy Rapp believes the most realistic option for the Clippers to pursue next is actually a player who was traded for Durant when he went from the Brooklyn Nets to the Suns.

In a recent article, Rapp named Nets forward Cameron Johnson s the most realistic trade option for the Clippers following the Durant trade.
Landing Johnson obviously wouldn't be anywhere near as big of a deal as a Durant trade would have been, but bringing him in would serve a similar purpose.

He'd give a Clippers squad that finished 20th in scoring this past season another consistent scorer they can depend on.
This past season, Johnson averaged 18.8 points per game for the Nets while shooting 47.5% from the field and 39% from three. He also tacked on 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
He shouldn't be overly costly to pry away from a Nets team that is still rebuilding after dealing Durant and Kyrie Irving two and a half seasons ago.
He would also leave the Clippers with some room to make other additions as he only carries a cap hit of $21.06 million for next season.
The Clippers aren't a team that has the assets or cap space to really pursue any other blockbuster moves now that Durant has been traded, which makes piling up solid players a more viable path for them going forward.

Johnson is exactly the type of solid player they should be trying to bring in and would be a good fit for their needs if they can land him.

"Even though she had never played on a national 3x3 team (she had experience on U.S. under-16 and under-19 5x5 teams), USA Basketball offered her a spot on the 3x3 team well before June, knowing there was a qualifying event for her to play in to become eligible for the Olympics, according to two sources with knowledge of those conversations." However, Brennan continued to mention Clark rejected Team USA's 3x3 offer. "The answer from Clark and her team was simple: No. She did not want to play 3x3 basketball at the Olympics," Brennan added.
