The full-back, who spent four years at Parkhead between 2011 and 2015, joined the Irish side at the beginning of this year, not long after Kenny moved back to his parent club.
The striker scored 20 goals in 39 appearances for Shamrock in 2024. Kenny has since returned to Glasgow's east end and impressed in his limited minutes.

Indeed, the 21-year-old scored on his only start for Brendan Rodgers' men last season away at Aberdeen.
"He's done really well this season for Celtic when he's played," said Matthews [RecordSport].
"I spoke to a couple of the boys about him, and they were like, 'How do you think he'll do at Celtic?'
"He showed in Europe last year what he can do. Obviously, it's going to be tough at Celtic, especially with the strikers that they've got.
"But he's just got to be patient and wait for his chance. And like he has done when he gets his chance to do his best and hopefully score a couple of goals.
"He's going the right way about it, and you never know. It's going to be tough at Celtic, especially in the striker position. But he's doing the best that he can. He's started really well."
Kenny was one of three Celtic players who scored their penalty in Saturday's shootout loss to Aberdeen at Hampden.
The forward stepped up second and sent Dimitar Mitov the wrong way with a fine spot-kick.
It remains to be seen what lies in store for Kenny at Celtic in the 2025/26 campaign.

Chris Hamilton has say on Neil Lennon staying as Dunfermline Athletic midfielder also pens new deal

Chris Hamilton has revealed he is 'excited' for the future at Dunfermline under Neil Lennon and has promised the Pars will 'have a good go next season'. Hamilton has become the first signing of the new Lennon era at East End Park after penning a one-year contract extension. The former Hearts youngster's previous deal was expiring, but he has been given a vote of confidence by his boyhood club with a fresh agreement. The 23-year-old follows swiftly on from Lennon himself after the Northern Irishman penned a two-year deal to stay as manager. And Hamilton, who played in all but the last of Lennon's seven matches in charge last term, is relishing the opportunity to play again under the ex-Celtic and Hibernian boss. 'It was really good working under the manager,' said vice-captain Hamilton. 'I think you could see the difference in the team from when he came in. 'We were really organised. We were a threat in most games, even though we never scored a lot of goals, and we dominated most games. 'I think his experience helped the group, our young group, a lot. 'Hopefully, moving forward, that can be the same this season. I'm really looking forward to working under him again. He added: 'Hopefully it's an exciting season for the football club. 'As a player, I'm really looking forward to it. As a fan, I'm really looking forward to it. 'I'm excited for the club. It looks positive, it looks on the way up. 'So, hopefully, as players and as a group, we can come back to pre-season, work hard and be ready to have a good go next season, and see where it takes us.' Hamilton joined Dunfermline in 2022 following relegation and helped the club win the League One title in his first campaign. However, after consolidating in the Championship in his second season, 2024/25 proved to be a trying year under three different managers and with the battle to avoid another relegation. The former Arbroath loanee is thrilled he now has the chance to 'right some wrongs' after agreeing his new deal. 'I'm delighted,' he said. 'Obviously I knew for a while towards the end of the season that I was going to be out of contract. And I had a few positive conversations. 'So, I'm glad it's all sorted now and signed and I can get my mind focused on coming in for pre-season and looking forward to that. 'Las season was tough. There were some highs – and a lot of lows. 'But I'm glad that we managed to stay in the league. It was important, really important that we managed to do that. 'And it gives us a chance this year to right some wrongs and really have a go and see where we can get to.'

Celtic loanee Marco Tilio to return to Glasgow as a champion

The midfielder, 23, played from the start for his loan club in the narrow 1-0 triumph over rivals Melbourne Victory. Yonatan Cohen scored the only goal with just 10 minutes on the clock as he slotted home a rebound after a strike crashed off the crossbar. "This one just feels so much sweeter" 🩵 An emotional Marco Tilio reflects on @MelbourneCity's #ALeagueGF win after a rollercoaster season#MCYvMVC — Paramount+ Australia (@ParamountPlusAU) May 31, 2025 Tilio will return to Glasgow in the summer as a champion with his fourth A-League Premiership winners medal following the loan spell. The creative player, capped nine times for Australia, will be back at Celtic in July after his loan deal officially ends. He has a further three years on his contract at Celtic. Read more: Tilio previously insisted he would return to Celtic as a better player. He said: "If I'm being completely honest, I think I'm in a better position now than I was back then when I first went to Celtic. "I've matured a lot in the last couple of years. I had my first injury going over to Scotland and pretty much ridden all those waves, and here I am now. "I feel more mature. I feel more a complete player now and my understanding of the game is a lot better. "I speak to obviously team managers at Celtic and there's a loans manager who reaches out after most games. "We're back and forth in conversation. "Since I moved to Celtic, I've just been looking to find consistent game time, consistently in playing and in my body feeling confident in that again. 'Here I am now in that position, and I'm really glad where I am. "I've found it hard to find consistency over the last couple of years with injury problems. Now I think I have found consistency and confidence and I believe in myself when I'm in this sort of position. "I know what I can bring to the team."

A pair of Celtic sinners condemned to the one trick pony club as cracks appear on green and white armour

The Aberdeen defeat may have done Brendan Rodgers a favour in the long run as our man Hugh delivers his hard hitting verdict Aberdeen's Scottish Cup win should have had the same effect as smelling salts being waved under Brendan Rodgers' nose to clear his head. The manager's mind must have been scrambled by the lumbering, lackadaisical and lacklustre nature of his team's performance at Hampden. ‌ The weight of history was on their shoulders and, to a man, they collapsed under the strain. ‌ But Aberdeen may have done Celtic a favour in the long run by exposing their inadequacies. There was more than a party stage dismantled at Celtic Park after the defeat. The illusion of Celtic having adequate strength in depth to begin next season with a Champions League qualifier that will carry a £30m sidestake was also razed to the ground at the same time. ‌ I've said Adam Idah was testing the manager's ability to always improve the players he had under his charge. And more fall into that category. Nicolas Kuhn and Paulo Bernardo have to do more to avoid being categorised as a one-trick pony and a player who flatters to deceive. There are players who need to up their game or go to a less pressurised environment. ‌ Celtic's trophy haul has been astonishing in recent years, but cracks are appearing. The failure to win what would have been a historic ninth Treble was the source of celebration for the supporters of Celtic's rivals at Ibrox. ‌ But celebrating somebody else's failure when you've won nothing for yourself means it's time to up your own game. And that's exactly what Rangers will be doing under their American owners and different management ideas in the Ibrox dressing-room. When Celtic were asked to dig deep at Hampden they only found a gaping hole. ‌ Extensive work on filling the void has got to be done by the recruitment department to meet the demands of domestic and European competition. Players like Johnny Kenny and Yang shouldn't have been left to save the day in the extra time period of a cup final. The irony is supporters will now take their anger out on the manager in the time-honoured Brendan-baiting fashion. But it wasn't his tactics, team selection or substitutions that cost Celtic against Aberdeen. It was a failure to show up on the part of several players and the lack of a strong bench. That must be addressed as the team across the road on the other side of the city try to emerge from the shadows.
