RAW funding ‘Fitna-e-Hindustan' to destabilise Pakistan: CM Balochistan

Listen to article Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has stated that India's intelligence agency, Reasearch and Analysis Wing (RAW), is sponsoring the terrorist group 'Fitna-e-Hindustan' to destabilise Pakistan. Addressing a key press conference in the provincial capital alongside Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Chief Secretary Balochistan, the Chief Minister said that India's intelligence agency RAW is actively supporting terrorist groups to destabilise peace in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan. He added that the group was 'purely terrorist' and has no connection to the Baloch people or the province of Balochistan. During the press conference, misleading reports by Indian media were also shown, including false claims about Karachi Port amid recent tensions between Pakistan and India. Audio recordings of Fitna-tul-Hindustan operatives Shanbay and Rehman Gul were also played for journalists, in which they could be heard exchanging information with their RAW handlers. 'These terrorists are not representatives of the Baloch people; they are merely tools of RAW.' 'India cannot tolerate Pakistan's growing economy and aims to harm us through proxy warfare,' he said. The CM dismissed reports of enforced disappearances as propaganda, citing higher numbers of voluntary disappearances recorded by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He stressed that the Baloch nation has its own proud traditions and does not endorse such cowardly acts. 'They are not killing Punjabis—they are killing Pakistanis,' he added. He stated there is no need for a major military operation in Balochistan, as the state's policy relies on political dialogue and effective strategy. 'Political negotiations are ongoing, but those who raise arms against the state will face action.' The Chief Minister concluded by saying that the state will thwart every attack by Fitna-tul-Hindustan and will not allow any conspiracy against Pakistan's peace and development to succeed.

Russian drone attack kills five, injures 24, Ukraine officials say

KHARKIV: A Russian drone attack killed the family of the local fire chief in Ukraine's northern town of Pryluky in Chernihiv region, Ukraine's interior minister said on Thursday. Minister Ihor Klymenko said the attack killed the fire chief's wife, daughter and one-year-old grandson. 'On this terrible night, the rescuer was on site with the fire and rescue team to deal with the aftermath of the enemy strikes,' he wrote on Telegram, expressing his condolences. The family was among five people killed when Russia launched six drones to attack the town overnight, regional governor Viacheslav Chaus said. Six more people were hospitalised, he added. Ukraine's northern and eastern regions have been a frequent target of Russian drones and missiles in the more than three-year-old war. Another Russian drone attack on Ukraine's northeastern city of Kharkiv injured 18 people, including four children, Klymenko said. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the overnight strikes damaged seven apartment buildings, with direct hits on two. Ukraine strikes grounded Russian bombers in major drone assault 'It flew into our neighbours' apartment next door, and my child and I managed to run out into the hallway,' resident Anastasiia Meleshchenko told Reuters at the scene, adding that the ceiling began to crumble after a blast. 'Yesterday, workers had just finished repair work in my apartment after the previous attack,' she said. Outside, wrecked cars were on the street and emergency services workers were inspecting the damage. There was no immediate comment from Russia.

Wheat rises for 2nd session on Black Sea, China supply woes

SINGAPORE: Chicago wheat futures rose on Thursday, supported by the escalating conflict between major grain suppliers Russia and Ukraine, as well as dry weather threatening yields in top consumer China. Corn prices firmed, but soybeans edged lower. 'Ukraine has hit Russia and there are fears of escalation which is supporting wheat prices,' said one trader in Singapore. The most-active wheat contract on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) rose 0.6% to $5.46-1/4 a bushel, as of 0319 GMT. Corn added 0.3% to $4.40 a bushel, while soybeans gave up 0.1% to $10.44 a bushel. Parts of China's wheat belt in Shaanxi and Henan provinces have been hit hard by hot and dry weather, with near-record temperatures threatening to reduce yields. Ukraine has stepped up attacks on Russian targets, prompting Russian President Vladimir Putin to tell the US President Donald Trump in a telephone conversation that Moscow would have to respond, escalating worries over grain supplies. Wheat, corn and soybeans stay firm as war and tariff news monitored Ukrainian corn exports are set to fall to 1 million metric tons in June from 2 million tons in May, as Ukraine-origin corn is uncompetitive compared to its American equivalent, producers' union UAC said on Wednesday. Corn and soybean prices are being capped by favourable weather in the US Midwest, where farmers are wrapping up their planting. Commodity funds were net buyers of CBOT corn, wheat, soybean and soymeal futures contracts on Wednesday and small net sellers of soyoil futures.
