These pimple patches have helped over 8.38 million shoppers: Here's why you need them in your beauty cabinet

7NEWS01-05-2025

Aussie brand Skin Control is changing the skincare game with its pimple patches and is changing the skin of more than 8.38 million shoppers.
Since its launch in June 2023, the Party Pack has transformed how Australians approach spot treatments, blending fun, personality, and powerful skincare science.
These pimple patches have become a staple for skincare lovers who want results while still looking stylish.
What sets the Pimple Patch Party Pack apart is its playful approach to acne care. These aren't just patches — they're tiny, mood-boosting designs in the shape of stars, hearts, smiley faces, and flowers.
Whether you're heading out with friends or lounging at home, these patches allow wearers to feel good in their skin while actively treating pimples.
The designs help reduce the urge to pick or touch blemishes, letting the hydrocolloid technology do its job — drawing out impurities and helping absorb whiteheads

Behind the funky designs, lies a seriously effective formula. Each patch is infused with cica, tea tree, salicylic acid, and niacinamide —ingredients known for their soothing, antibacterial, and blemish-fighting properties.
These dermatologist-backed actives work together to calm inflammation, target breakouts, and support the skin's healing process. With 36 cruelty-free and vegan-friendly patches per pack, Skin Control ensures accessibility for all skin types and lifestyles.
Adding even more flair to the collection, Skin Control recently launched the Pimple Patch Glossy Pack, a fresh twist on two of the Party Pack's most-loved shapes.
With a holographic finish inspired by Y2K fashion and today's skincare trends, this pack encapsulates the perfect balance between nostalgia and innovation. It's a visual celebration of skin positivity — where treating acne doesn't mean hiding away.
Shoppers have given the pimple patch packs, a 5-star rating on Skin Control's website.
'I've tried the Skin Control Pimple Patch Glossy Pack and it's been a lifesaver for my skin,' one shopper wrote.
'Such cute designs and colours, works well on my skin and helps to reduce the redness of any pimples overnight,' another shopper added.
'Loved these, they are amazing,' a third reviewer wrote.

Singer announces first Perth show since Gage Roads drama

Aussie singer John Butler has announced he'll be returning to WA later this year in what would be the star's first official gig in Perth since his controversial February visit that resulted in Gage Roads Freo Brewery canning his show at late notice. The star is set to unveil the PRISM Tour in his first national campaign alongside a band since 2019, which will launch in Bunbury on September 5. The following night, Butler will play at Metropolis Fremantle as he ventures back to the port city. Credit: John Butler The outspoken artist is not shy in publicly sharing his political views, and in February had promoted his Gage Roads show as a 'Frack Free Kimberley concert'. However, shortly before the event was set to take place, the venue advised Butler he was no longer welcome, and his show was bumped to nearby Port Beach Brewery. 'The event we agreed to initially was not what was eventually planned and advertised,' a spokesperson for the venue told PerthNow at the time. 'It was our understanding that it was to be a music only event, with some Frack Free merchandise for sale and awareness raising materials available. Under these circumstances, we initially agreed to hold the event. 'Over the weekend, promotional materials were published and it came to our attention that the promoters were planning a number of public speakers from community groups that would be delivering speeches. Butler told fans on social media, 'Gage Roads cancelled the event and pulled out saying they didn't know it was so political and they didn't do political events'. The California-born songwriter is currently on tour in the US. If you'd like to view this content, please adjust your . To find out more about how we use cookies, please see our Cookie Guide. Ahead of his next wave of Aussie shows, the independent artist told fans he'd be playing a mix of crowd favourites and newly released songs. 'I am really looking forward to touring Oz again with the band for the PRISM album launch,' Butler said in a statement. 'Loving playing with Ian Peres, Michael Boase and reuniting with Michael Barker on the drums. 'We've been having such a great time bringing these new songs to life on stage and the older songs are sounding BETTER THAN ever. Sorry couldn't help myself!' Butler's upcoming PRISM album is considered Season Three of the singer's Four Season project roll-out, and is set for release on September 5. It marks a formal departure from the John Butler Trio moniker, with tracks Trippin On You and So Sorry have already been released. Enjoying a professional career spanning 25 years, the star's signature roots flavour is evident through his hits Zebra, Ocean, Better Than, and Used to Get High. Tickets for his PRISM Tour go on sale June 20.

Learn more It may bring back memories of your Year 12 Formal but Napoleon Perdis makeup is just as innovative and impressive 15 years on. If there's one name that will instantly bring back beauty memories for most Aussie millennial women, it's Napoleon Perdis. From birthdays to school dances, the brand defined many of our early big and glitzy milestones. From celebrities on the red carpet to students at recreation centre dances, Napoleon Perdis epitomised glamour and know-how. I still remember the thrill of putting my Devine Goddess Lipstick in 'Aphrodite' nude in my clutch for late-night touch ups after getting my makeup done for formal. The personal link also became professional – one of Australia's early answers to makeup-artist founded beauty brands, it dominated backstage at fashion weeks and as a result my early days as a beauty writer and editor. If you have the sudden urge to dig out your old school formal photos, I don't blame you. (However don't blame ME for said looks that might not have quite aged as well as you have!) But far from beauty products that should stay in our sentimental memories – I'm looking at you, Dream Matte Mousse Foundation – the Napoleon Perdis brand is one that remains nostalgic AND noteworthy. Now-worthy, too. 30 years and 25,000 makeup academy graduates later, Napoleon Perdis' cult products are still captivating new generations. And there's one in particular worth reintroducing to your makeup bag. $79 at Napolean Perdis This face product is a clear reminder of what a prestige makeup brand Napoleon Perdis is. The foundation (ha!) of your makeup routine, this easy-to-apply liquid foundation offers buildable to medium coverage with a genuinely velvet-y or cashmere-like finish. Perfect for those who want some coverage while keeping their skin looking like skin, the formula blends makeup with skincare benefits. Enriched with antioxidant-packed Green Tea Leaf and Japanese Knotweed Root Extracts plus vitamins C and E, it's a base that simultaneously helps perfect skin while also protecting it from environmental stressors. The product is available in five shades, although the darker shade selection is limited. The fact that it's SPF 20 is an added bonus – although for full protection I'd still apply sunscreen on my face underneath, especially in the warmer months. The innovation is not just in its formula but applicator, too. The product comes with a clever built-in brush applicator that locks on or off to avoid any unwanted spillage. This makes it perfectly suited for minimal mess and on-the-go touch ups. Simply twist, squeeze, then apply directly to your face. You can also still use your normal applicator of choice – if I have the time, I like to apply with the brush then blend with my usual sponge to really work into the skin. It's multipurpose, too. You can mix your favourite highlighter in to create a more luminous base, or even use a darker shade as a liquid bronzer. How does the Napoleon Perdis Stroke of Genius foundation wear? I'm immediately impressed with both the coverage and the wear. As it's winter, I'm wearing the shade Look 1, which although pale warms up on my skin. And the finish? Smooth and glowy, like a soft filter. My skin does tend to lean dry/dehydrated so I did notice a little bit of separation throughout the day in some of the drier areas (forehead and around the nose) which to be fair I get with many of my face products. Do I need to use a primer before foundation? Which leads me to this. 'Not to prime is a crime!' may either mean nothing or everything to you. As one of Napoleon Perdis's (the man and the brand!) most iconic catchphrases, it is one permanently printed on my brain. While I'm not saying it's the law, prepping and priming the skin properly WILL make the world of difference. The Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer ($69) was one of the first primers I ever used and it remains as iconic as ever. A true blend of makeup and skincare, the almost milk-like texture is light yet hydrating, helping to create a smooth and flawless base for your foundation application while nourishing and protecting skin throughout the day. While the foundation's staying power is worthy, the added layer of primer makes for a truly long-lasting finish. So how do the products stand up almost 15 years later? While it's since become the norm for brands, Napoleon Perdis always encouraged and prioritised makeup education for consumers, emphasising the importance of learning how to enhance your features and discover what works best for you. This foundation – again, sorry – has meant its products have remained relevant, innovative and deserving of a place in your makeup bag or kit. Any other products worth trying? The lipstick names and packaging may have changed since my Year 12 Formal, but the punch of colour remains just as impressive. The Soul Matte Longwear Lipstick in Obsessed ($48) is a deliciously bold red. Their Loose Eye Dust pots ($42) are also a perfect and easy way to add a touch more shimmer to your makeup. Your teenage self would definitely approve. Looking for more great beauty buys? Sign up for our free Shopping newsletter to find out all the latest deals and sale events.
