Gaylord man faces charges of attempted home invasion, resisting arrest
OTSEGO COUNTY — On March 15 at approximately 3 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post and deputies from the Otsego County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in Bagley Township to investigate an alleged personal protection order (PPO) violation.
A preliminary investigation revealed that 35-year-old James Dash of Gaylord allegedly drove to a residence in Bagley Township and knocked on the door. When there was no answer, he attempted to enter the home by kicking the front door.
Upon arrival, troopers learned Dash fled the scene and observed footprints in the snow leading into the woods. Troopers located Dash hiding behind a tree. Troopers and deputies approached Dash and attempted to place him under arrest. After a brief struggle, they were able to take him into custody.
Dash was lodged at the Otsego County Jail and arraigned on Monday in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on one count of attempted home invasion third degree, one count of police officer-assault/resist/obstruct, and one count of malicious destruction of building ($200 or more less than $1,000). His bond was set at 10% of $25,000 cash or surety. His next court appearance is set for March 27.

Now investigators says she was murdered. The suspect, Keyvonte Clark was in court Thursday and we want to warn you that the details are disturbing. The backstory Clark, 31, is accused of killing Bedford, a local mother whose last contact with her daughter was on Mother's Day of 2020 when she went missing. Bedford was 34. Prosecutors say Clark shot and killed Bedford at a home in the 12000 block of Cloverlawn Street in Detroit. He allegedly moved her body to another location, and it has not been recovered. Today the court heard testimony from Clark's former girlfriend. Prosecutor: "What do you hear him saying to Dre?" "That he was about to kill Jessica," said Clark's witness testified she thought she was pregnant with Clark's child and she and Jessica had been at Clark's home – when Clark's friend sexually assaulted her. She says she later told Clark over the phone about the sexual assault – evidently Clark blamed Jessica for allowing it to happen."I can hear him yelling, saying 'You let him come in here and rape my baby mama,'" the witness "What did you hear Jessica saying?" "She sounded confused," the witness said. "I believe I heard her say – 'What are you talking about?'"The testimony was graphic – the witness saying she didn't come forward because she was scared of Clark. The judge ordered the witness's voice be altered because there have been threats. Prosecutor: "What do you hear?" "Gunshots," she said. Prosecutor: "What do you hear Keyvonte saying?" "I hear him say that he just killed Jessica over and over," the witness said. "After I heard the gunshots on the phone I heard Dre say 'Die b---h.'"Prosecutor: "Did you ever see Jessica again? "No," she said. The witness testified Clark came and got her, drove her back to his home in Detroit – where a red couch had been removed from the living room. "It was being burned in the backyard," the witness said. Prosecutor: "What was the conversation?" "That Jessica's body was in the basement," she said. Prosecutor: "And did they talk about getting rid of the body?" "Yes," the ex-girlfriend said. The witness testifying Clark's dogs were in the basement – chewing on the body. Jessica Bedford's body was never found and Michigan State Police arrested Clark in April of this year – nearly five years after her mother reported her missing. Police search for missing Lake County man
PEACOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are asking the public for help finding a Lake County man who was last seen Sunday. Jack Albert Peterson, 67, stands 6 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has green eyes and brown graying hair. According to Michigan State Police, Peterson was last seen Sunday near Irons Road and 4 Mile Road in Irons. He left his vehicle, phone and other personal belongings at home, troopers say. Explosions and fires were reported in Engels, located in Russia's Saratov Oblast, during an overnight drone attack on June 6, according to Russian officials and media outlets. Located in Russia's Saratov Oblast, around 600 kilometers (370 miles) from the front lines in Ukraine, the city is home to the Engels-2 military airfield and an oil refinery — both of which have been targeted in previous Ukrainian strikes. Residents shared footage of major fires breaking out in Engels following a drone attack, according to the independent Russian Telegram news channel Astra. Locals reported that the refinery was under attack and that a residential building had been hit. Saratov Oblast Governor Roman Busargin claimed that drones caused damage to a residential building in Engels. There were no casualties, he said. Busargin later said that a fire had broken out at an unspecified "industrial enterprise" and that emergency responders had been dispatched to the scene. The Kyiv Independent could not confirm these claims. The reported drone attack comes after a series of major Ukrainian strikes against military targets inside Russia. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on June 1 launched Operation Spiderweb, a daring mass drone attack that damaged 41 Russian heavy bombers at four key airfields throughout the country.
