Delay in release of CBSE answer sheet copies hinders revaluation efforts
Hubballi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared Class 10 and 12 results on May 13, allowing students to apply for photocopies of answer sheets by May 27. Only those who obtained photocopies were eligible to apply for revaluation by June 3.
However, thousands of students who applied for photocopies did not receive them, hindering their revaluation efforts. CBSE has now extended the deadline for revaluation to June 7.
Students aiming for merit seats, scholarships, or fee concessions in prestigious colleges are anxious, hoping to improve their scores. Many are constantly checking the CBSE website instead of focusing on their studies.
Supraja M, who passed Class 10 from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hubballi, shared that CBSE said in its circular dated May 19 that June 3 was the last date to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation or both.
"For this, it was mandatory to have a photocopy. I applied for a photocopy of my general science answer book on May 26 itself. But I did not get the answer book till June 6. When we sent an email to info.cbse@gov.in questioning this apathy, there was no reply at all.
Even helplines 1800118002, 7669886950 and other numbers published on the CBSE website were defunct. Later, they extended the date till June 7," she shared.
Vinayak Kamatar, a parent, said CBSE was playing hide-and-seek with students.

"If CBSE extends the date, it should do it in due course of time. It should keep its communication channels active. We had doubts about our son's mathematics paper and applied for a photocopy of the answer book by paying the prescribed fee. However, we have not received the same till June 6, when the last date to apply for re-evaluation and marks verification is June 7.
Contact numbers of CBSE Regional Office, Bengaluru are defunct, and there is no reply to email queries.

"On enquiry, schools are just suggesting contacting CBSE offices in Bengaluru or Delhi. Only a few schools are taking responsibility and writing to CBSE," he observed.
K Ramesh, Bengaluru regional officer, CBSE, neither responded to the email nor was available over the phone for a comment.

Over 260 children rescued in 16 months by RPF under ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte'
Nagpur: More than 260 children have found their way back home over the past 16 months thanks to Operation Nanhe Farishte, an initiative run by Railway Protection Force (RPF) under the Central Railway's Nagpur division. The initiative focuses on spotting and saving children who've run away, been trafficked, gone missing, or been abandoned at railway platforms and trains. From January 2024 to April 2025, RPF teams rescued 239 children — 116 boys and 85 girls in 2024, and 15 boys and 23 girls so far in 2025. Most had run away from home. Others were found wandering alone or had been deliberately left behind. Each case was different, but the response was always swift. Senior divisional security commandant Manoj Kumar said that trained RPF staff are now present at every post, trained to notice subtle signs — a child loitering alone, avoiding eye contact, or clutching a bag too tight. Once identified, the child is brought to a help desk where the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) is contacted. "CWC members counsel the child and take custody if needed," says Kumar. "It's not just about finding a child," Kumar adds. "It's about knowing what to look for, building trust, and handling that child with care. Eid celebrated with unity, devotion
1 2 Trichy: Across central and southern Tamil Nadu, people came together to mark Eid-al-Adha (Bakrid) with prayer, kindness, and a sense of community. From early morning, Muslims across Trichy and Madurai gathered to offer prayers, share meals, and help those in need — reflecting the spirit of sacrifice, gratitude, and togetherness that the festival stands for. More than 300 people assembled at the Eidgah grounds in Cantonment and Uzhavar Sandhai in Thennur to offer prayers around 7 am. From 108 to top 20: Nuh rises among aspirational districts
Gurgaon: Nuh has made a leap from 108th to 20th position among India's 112 most backward districts in the aspirational districts programme. Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini credited the transformation to focused development in education, health, nutrition, and infrastructure since 2018. Saini announced several initiatives during the Mewat development board meeting to further improve the quality of education and boost skill development in the district. The govt Model Sanskriti School will now be supervised by the Mewat development authority instead of the education department. Construction of the Unani medical college in Akera and the Mewat model college in Ferozepur Jhirka will begin soon with a fresh tender, while the driving training and research Institute in Chhapera will start in Oct. Two transit hostels will also be set up at Mewat Model School in Ferozepur Jhirka. It was also decided that a library with a seating capacity of 200 children will be built at the Nuh district headquarters.
