Leonard Cohen's family launch new lawsuit over ‘swindling' of fortune
Leonard Cohen 's children have accused the singer 's former lawyer of forging documents that allowed millions to be 'siphoned' from the family estate.
Adam and Lorca Cohen filed a lawsuit accusing lawyer Reeve Chudd of malpractice for forging documents to allow their Canadian-born father's manager, Robert Kory, to be named as a trustee of their father's estate.
The lawsuit accuses Ervin Cohen & Jessup (ECJ), where Mr Chudd was previously a partner, of 'turning a blind eye to Kory's self-dealing and covering up its own wrongdoing'.
In 2010 Cohen 'purportedly' replaced his children and his former partner Anjani Thomas with Mr Kory as the sole successor of his trust. He then revoked this decision in 2016 and reinstated his children and Ms Thomas as successor trustees, according to the suit.
Shortly after Cohen's death in 2016, EJC were alleged to have forged trust documents to make it appear Mr Jory was the sole successor.

Court documents seen by KCPQ also reveal that the 32-year-old's phone records show "he drove to and left the same campground a day prior to the kidnapping." Officials who are already concerned about how Decker's military training will make him hard to find have highlighted their concerns that he has crossed the border. There is currently no official port of entry at that part of the border so hikers can freely cross into Canada without detection. "The location of the victim's remains is relatively close to the Canadian border and approximately 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, a well-established trail that leads directly Canada," the affidavit read. Authorities have launched a land and air search of the popular tourist spot but nothing has emerged yet. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office involved in the hunt has revealed that Decker's military past means he is "well versed in wilderness survival". He is "capable of spending days or even weeks in the wilderness on his own and with very little equipment". Court documents highlight that Decker is trained in navigation, mountainous and woodland terrain, long-distance manoeuvers and wilderness survival. 9 New release by the Sheriff's Office as manhunt continues Credit: Chelan County Sheriff's Office 9 Decker is a veteran with extensive training in wilderness survival Credit: Facebook "We are searching anywhere and everywhere for him," Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison said. Those living in remote cabins and rural areas have been warned to keep their doors locked to all buildings including sheds. They have also been told to keep their outdoor lights on and window blinds open. To help with the search, the Sheriff's Office has released some new pictures of Decker. The updated release continues to warn the public that he is "considered dangerous and may be armed, call 911 immediately". The pictures taken from a surveillance camera show him walking in a t-shirt, shorts, and sandals with facial hair and a pony tail. Others show close-ups of the distinctive tattoos he has on his arms and ankles. His grieving ex-wife has said that "something broke in him" after he struggled to get help for his mental health issues, insisting he was a good father and never violent to her or the children. Decker's arrest warrant charges him with three counts of first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Michelle Mone makes 'millions in profits' after selling Glasgow townhouses
The Scottish Mail on Sunday reports that Baroness Mone sold a £19m London townhouse and £6.8m Lady M Yacht last year. It comes after Glasgow-born Mone and her billionaire husband Doug Barrowman had £75m worth of assets frozen by the National Crime Agency (NCA). The couple are at the centre of a fraud probe over the firm PPE Medpro, controlled by Barrowman, that was awarded £203m worth of UK Government contracts through a 'VIP lane' during the Covid-19 pandemic. READ MORE: Supreme Court's sex ruling faces legal tests – will they succeed? In November 2023, Mone finally admitted her involvement with PPE Medpro for the first time, after years of denying any links to the company. It then emerged Barrowman was reportedly paid at least £65m from PPE Medpro's profits, later transferring £29m into a trust for Mone and her three adult children. Several properties were frozen under the Proceeds of Crime Act in 2023. And now, Mone has reportedly sold her Glasgow homes. The Mail on Sunday reports that there is no suggestion any of the property sales breached any existing orders put in place by the NCA. One townhouse in Glasgow's plush Park Circus was bought by Barrowman's Knox business group for £1.7m in 2020. The couple have now reportedly sold this to a photographer for £2m last year. Another nearby townhouse was sold for £2.8m, allegedly to a Scottish musician, who was not named. It was bought in July 2020 for just over £1.4m. A spokesperson for the NCA confirmed an investigation is still ongoing into PPE Medpro. 'The NCA opened an investigation in May 2021 into suspected criminal offences committed in the procurement of PPE contracts by PPE Medpro,' they said. 'This ongoing investigation remains a priority for the agency. READ MORE: Scottish independence 'already begun as UK political culture diverges' 'Investigations must pursue all reasonable lines of enquiry. In serious economic crime investigations these lines of enquiry can be incredibly complex – from worldwide financial tracing exercises to the need to examine large volumes of digital material. 'In such cases it can take considerable time to ensure that a thorough, independent and objective investigation is conducted.' PPE Medpro is also being sued by the Department of Health and Social Care, amid claims that the gown supplied by the firm were not fit for use. We previously told how Mone accused the NCA of "smearing [her] as a criminal".
