Is Ruby leaving Emmerdale, does she go to prison and is Anthony still alive?
Ruby Miligan's (Beth Cordingly) fate hangs in the balance in Emmerdale after she reported herself to the police for Anthony's (Nicholas Day) murder. Anthony, as viewers know, was killed by daughter Ruby, who had been sexually abused him when she was a teenager. With assistance from Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and husband Caleb (William Ash), the murder was covered up, with John disposing of the abuser's remains. But with a corpse having been recovered from the lake, Ruby assumed it was her father's, with John having failed to tell her where exactly he buried him. In a bid to protect her loved ones, Ruby decided to hand herself in, telling the police that she killed Anthony. Viewers have been left worried about the character, fearing that she will go to prison and thus exit Emmerdale. But will this prove to be the case? We have answers. Spoilers for Wednesday's (June 4) edition of the ITV soap follow. No, Ruby is not leaving Emmerdale and nor does she go to prison. The matriarch is questioned by the police for her role in Anthony's death but things take a turn when detectives confirm that the body isn't actually that of her abusive father's. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Fearing that she's turned herself in for no reason, Ruby is horrified but her solicitor concocts a plan, insisting that she make out like she's suffered a breakdown in the wake of her abuse ordeal. Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), meanwhile, learns of Ruby's plight and, feeling indebted to Caleb over the theft of his kidney, he decides to intervene, paying off a contact in Spain to masquerade as Anthony so that the police are able to rule out any foul play. Ruby is therefore very much in the clear and thus returns home to Mill Cottage where she reunited with her loved ones. The happiness will be short-lived, however, as upcoming scenes will see the body identified as Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). As far as we know, Ruby's dad Anthony is dead, hence why Joe was needed to get his contacts to claim to be the abuser. The character was last seen in January via a flashback sequence, which confirmed that Ruby was the one to murder him. More Trending Aaron, who attacked him previously, thought that he'd killed Anthony and thus John decided to help him get rid of the body and cover up the evidence. As for where Anthony's body is, well that remains a mystery! View More » Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7:30am on ITVX. Emmerdale confirms unexpected character who saves Ruby from jail in ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) took a massive risk in Monday's episode of Emmerdale by confessing to murdering her father Anthony Fox. Last week, Ruby, Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) got word that a body had been found in the lake. Believing that it wouldn't be long until the police discovered the truth, Ruby decided to confess to the crime, therefore saving Caleb, Chas, Cain, John (Oliver Farnworth) and Aaron (Danny Miller) from questioning in the process. Ruby told the detective that she argued with her father by the lake, but he hit his head and died. After learning about Ruby being sexually abused by Anthony, the officer in charge knew there was motive, but it wasn't an entirely convincing story for her. The detective wondered if Ruby had help with disposing of Anthony's body in the lake, but she denied it. Ruby continuously pushed that she killed her dad and yet, she wasn't being completely believed. The game completely changed for Ruby when the officer learnt the body in the lake wasn't Anthony at all. As a break began, Ruby's solicitor suggested that she focuses on the narrative of making the statement through delusion, in the hope the police wouldn't take her seriously and release her. Meanwhile, back in the village, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had witnessed Steph (Georgia Jay) having a panic attack over the stress of her mum being questioned. In an unexpected twist, Joe wanted to help Steph, but we certainly didn't think he'd be the one to save Ruby. Ruby was sent home after the police learnt that Anthony had turned up in Spain. It became apparent that Joe had asked a contact overseas to pretend to be the man, therefore eradicating even the smallest possibility of the police investigating his death. More Trending It was a relief for Caleb, who ended up shaking Joe's hand as a thank you. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street?
