Ewan McGregor reunites with Crieff pipe band at £2m Glencarse home in Apple TV series
Ewan McGregor can be seen playing a tune with his former pipe band in his new Apple TV series.
McGregor is joined by the Morrison's Academy Pipe Band at his £2 million Glencarse mansion in Long Way Home.
The show sees the actor join Charley Boorman as they embark on a motorcycle journey to England, via Scandinavia.
The duo have reunited to celebrate 20 years of the first series, Long Way Round.
Before they leave his Glencarse home for Newcastle, Ewan informs the crew that the pipe band will perform for them.
He said: 'I used to be a side drummer in this band.
'My dad, before me, and my uncle. I come from a long line of drummers.'
Joined by his dad James as the band arrive, Ewan is taking aback by how many pupils appeared at his house.
He said: 'Massive band, isn't it? It was, like, nine of us in the band I was in.
'Wait until they crack off, it gets the hairs on the back of your neck.'
The band then play a rendition of The Green Hills of Tyrol, with McGregor joining them on the drums.
Ewan's mum, Carol, calls the performance 'far too emotional'.
After an emotional goodbye with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and son Laurie, Ewan and Charley begin their journey.
They were led by the private school's band.
In December, the 54-year-old's application to refurbish the windows of the B-listed gate lodge and install new double-glazing units was approved by the council.
The show is available to watch on Apple TV+.

McGregor lavished praise on O'Malley, remarking that his training camp echoes of McGregor's own ahead of his second bout with Nate Diaz: "Very reminiscent of my Diaz 2 prep. Intriguing! BIG FIGHT FEEL!" The Irishman wrote on X. After hearing the news, O'Malley expressed delight at having the 'Notorious' in his corner once more. "Hell yeah, I will take it," O'Malley said during the UFC 316 media day. "I will forever be a huge Conor fan. I feel grateful to be able to watch his come up in my generation, I watched it happen. I think we'll look back, he had one of the craziest careers. It's cool to be able to watch it happen while I was getting into the UFC and everything. I'm pumped the relationship is back to good." The 30-year-old added: "I have always taken inspiration from Conor fights. I've watched Conor fights more than probably any (fights), well, (I watch) my fights more, but I've watched a lot of Conor fights." In preparation for the upcoming rematch, O'Malley revealed he has watched plenty of sequels, including McGregor's second bout with Diaz - to see how they responded in the second bout when they were counted out. "So I was watching Conor-Nate. I've just been watching a bunch of fights. We just have cameras recording so much, I did not realise that was a moment that got captured," he said. The Perfect Storm star spoke to Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan Maclean 54 days into their bid to row 9,000 miles non-stop and unsupported from Lima, Peru to Sydney, Australia. As well as aiming to set a record for the fastest row across the world's largest ocean, the brothers are hoping to raise £1 million for clean water projects in Madagascar. Wahlberg told the brothers that he was 'so inspired' by their undertaking, which has seen them battle salt sores, relentless weather and broken equipment during more than seven weeks at sea. 'You're badasses doing something no one else would think of', he told them. 'This could be a movie. The best films I've done are based on true stories – ordinary people doing extraordinary things. 'No way I'd row an ocean, but I'd play one of you guys in a movie.' He added: 'What you guys are doing is next level. You're living out a sense of purpose – combining passion with impact. 'That's rare, and it's humbling to watch. People need to hear about what you're doing.'
