The streets of Melbourne have been turned red and yellow, with rowdy soccer fans setting of flares to a strong police presence amid the A-League decider.
Incredible photos have captured the chaotic scenes, with soccer fans descending on AAMI park to watch the showdown between Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City FC.

Crowds of fans bundled up in soccer scarfs appeared to be taunting officers, who turned out in big numbers ahead of the match.
Some shouted anti-police chants, The Herald Sun reported.
Past matches between the two teams have erupted in chaos, including in 2022 where about 150 spectators stormed the field.
Goalkeeper Tom Glover was allegedly struck in the head with a metal bucket during the incident.

Victoria Police CBD acting commander Zorka Dunstan said some fans barred from attending Saturday night's big game following 'reckless' behaviour earlier in the year.
'The majority of supporters do the right thing and create an incredible environment for everyone in attendance, including families,' Mr Dunstan said in a statement ahead of the match.
'However, at times this year we have seen a very small group of supporters engage in reckless and anti-social behaviour.

'Due to their actions, some of these people are barred from attending this Saturday's big game.
'We don't want this small group to tarnish the event for the rest of the soccer community.'
He said those in Richmond — particularly on Swan St — could expect a 'strong and dedicated police presence throughout the entire night'.
'There will be an unbelievable atmosphere on Saturday night as two traditional Melbourne rivals meet in the Grand Final for the first time,' Mr Dunstan said.
'The bumper crowd can expect to see plenty of police on the way to the game and at the ground itself.'
Soccer fans allegedly lit flares under a Swan St bridge on the way to a game just two weeks ago.

Lawyers for Moira Deeming have applied to the Federal Court to have John Pesutto made bankrupt over his unpaid $2.3m legal bill. The Herald Sun has confirmed a creditor's petition was lodged on Monday morning over Mr Pesutto's failure to pay court-awarded legal costs to Mrs Deeming after losing a defamation case brought against him. Mr Pesutto now has 21 days to pay the multimillion-dollar debt, enter into a payment arrangement or face bankruptcy and an abrupt end to his political career. If bankrupt he would be ineligible to sit in parliament and his exit would trigger a costly by-election in his marginal seat of Hawthorn which the party fears losing. Senior Liberal Party figures are working to secure the support of the administrative committee to loan Mr Pesutto an estimated $1.5m he needs to clear the debt. There were hopes the committee would meet over the weekend. 'They don't want to meet until they have a solution on the table,' one senior Liberal said. 'This issue is killing them.' In a brief statement Mr Pesutto said he would 'be doing everything possible over the next 21 days to pay the amount ordered by the Federal Court.' 'I will continue performing my work as the Member for Hawthorn, and I reiterate my wish to do so for as long as the people of my electorate will have me,' he said. Mrs Deeming told the Herald Sun last week the decision to initiate bankruptcy proceedings was not one she took lightly. But she said she was committed to repaying wealthy NSW businessman Hilton Grugeon who bankrolled her successful defamation case against Mr Pesutto. 'My goal is simple, to ensure that I am reimbursed so that I can repay that loan as I promised I would,' she said. 'The past two years have been a harrowing journey for me, my husband and our four children. 'After being falsely accused of bigotry, of knowingly associating with Nazis — claims the court found to be defamatory, I faced a torrent of public and private abuse, including rape threats, stalking and personal and professional humiliation and isolation. Sadly, I was not the only innocent woman who suffered as a result of the campaign to expel me. 'This moment should never have come to pass. But since it has, let it stand as a reckoning — not just for one individual, but for a culture of political brutality that must end. 'No man is above the law.' The ongoing public battle between Mr Pesutto and Mrs Deeming has plagued the party for more than two years since it began in March 2023.

Man sentenced after ‘gross' housemate act

A Chilean national will be sentenced after police discovered he had been secretly filming three of his female housemates in their share house in an affluent Sydney suburb. The intimate footage captured included the women in the bathroom and their bedroom, none of whom were aware they were being filmed until after they had moved out. Luis Alberto Cancino Mena, 39, had installed a hidden camera in their shared bathroom, including the shower, as well as in one of their bedrooms, according to ABC. The covert recording device Court documents revealed how the gross breach of privacy came to light. Cleaners at the home discovered a pen containing a hidden camera on the bathroom floor, sometime after the tenants had moved out. After pulling the device apart, they found out it was recording. Then, after finding a storage card inside, they found files of themselves cleaning the bathroom and a woman having a shower. The property owner took this to the police, where they found recordings of Cancino setting up the camera. He subsequently confessed to his actions when questioned by police. The documents also revealed that Cancino had folders on his laptop labelled with the names of the women, which included videos of them. None of the women gave Cancino consent to film them. Cancino pleads guilty Cancino pleaded guilty on Thursday to three counts of intentionally recording intimate video/image without consent. Records show he is in Australia on a temporary visa, which is set to expire soon. His passport has been seized by police, and he has told police he intended to return to Chile and not come back to Australia. He had been due to be sentenced on Thursday, but the case was adjourned until July after the defence lawyer raised a 'significant issue' with the statement of facts outside court. Now, one of the women has told ABC that the delay was 'disappointing' and she wants to see him deported. Mena will remain on bail with his case scheduled to return to Waverley Local Court on 8 July. How common is this? According to the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR), there were 422 finalised charges related to recording or threatening to record intimate images without consent in 2024. Man's body found in bin at Hobart business

Emergency services were called to the premises on Percy St at Bellerive near Hobart about 9am on Monday. A police spokesman said the man's body was discovered at the rear of the premises located on the eastern shore of the Derwent River. 'Detectives and forensic personnel are currently on the scene conducting investigations,' a spokesman said. 'Police have the area contained and there is no danger to the public.'
