Xavier Legette featured in cover art for rapper GloRilla's new single Show Caption Hide Caption Luke Kuechly praises 2025 HOF class Carolina Panthers legend Luke Kuechly has nothing but great things to say about the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. What NFL players do during the offseason is entirely their prerogative. Some try to pursue rap careers, others enjoy hanging out on boats, and still others take photoshoots with rappers in the hopes of being featured on the cover art of a new single. Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette picked the third choice. When rapper GloRilla announced she's releasing a new single, "Typa," on Friday, her social media post included the cover art for the song. The photo she chose for the single prominently features the Panthers' second-year receiver sitting behind the rapper as she counts a stack of $100 bills. CAROLINA PANTHERS SCHEDULE: Games, dates, TV channels, predictions for 2025 season Legette entered the NFL last year after the Panthers selected him with the final pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Playing in 16 games, he led the team with 84 targets and 49 receptions and was second with his 497 receiving yards and four touchdowns behind veteran Adam Thielen. The second-year South Carolina product is projected to enter the 2025 season as the team's third starter at receiver next to Thielen and incoming rookie – and fellow first-round pick – Tetairoa McMillan. GloRilla is a rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. She released her first commercial mixtape, "Ehhthang Ehhthang," last April before debuting her first studio album, "Glorious," in October. "Typa" will be her first single since she the three she released off of her debut album.

Jon Jones Ignores Tom Aspinall, Reveals Francis Ngannou Superfight Plan

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Jon Jones has been enjoying his time away from the octagon, as he has been active on social media, showcasing his vacation in Thailand, among other things. This led to current UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall claiming that Jones is retired, and also stating his plans to reignite the heavyweight division. More news: Jon Jones Drops Major Hint at UFC Future With Cryptic Post Instead of listening to all the noise, Jones has taken a more subtle approach to his responses, claiming that he is just enjoying his life and everyone else should do the same. Though the heavyweight champion has not mentioned any kind of plans to fight, he dropped a bomb on his X page. I'm hearing Francis Ngannou is still interested… now we're talking. That's a real super fight. A clash of champions, not just hype. He held the UFC belt, I've defended mine for over a decade. Two kings from different roads. Not just one legend facing a mouth that's hot right… — Jonny Meat (@JonnyBones) June 6, 2025 Jones posted that not only is the current PFL Africa Chairman and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou still interested in fighting Jones, but that the fight could be of huge interest to Jones as well. "I'm hearing Francis Ngannou is still interested... now we're talking. That's a real super fight. A clash of champions, not just hype. He held the UFC belt, I've defended mine for over a decade. Two kings from different roads. Not just one legend facing a mouth that's hot right now, but two real legacies colliding. That's the kind of fight that actually adds something special to my story. 👑🔥 At least from my point of view," the post reads. MMA fighter Jon Jones reacts after his TKO victory against US MMA fighter Stipe Miocic in their heavyweight title bout during UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in New York, November 16, 2024. MMA fighter Jon Jones reacts after his TKO victory against US MMA fighter Stipe Miocic in their heavyweight title bout during UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in New York, November 16, 2024. Photo by KENA BETANCUR/AFP viaJones has made it known that following his victory against Stipe Miocic back in November 2024, he was only interested in fighting for "legacy." He did state that he would want to face off against Alex Pereira in a superfight, but that was likely pushed aside when Pereira lost his light heavyweight belt to Magomed Ankalev at UFC 313 in March. Though Jones has an opponent that the MMA-loving world wants to see him take on, which is Aspinall, a superfight with Ngannou would be vastly bigger. Ngannous left the UFC after many issues regarding fighter pay were brought up during his tenure as champion. He would become a free agent, and eventually join the PFL. Now, Ngannou and Jones' star power has led to both men being able to essentially call their own shots in their respective promotions. Considering their pull with the UFC and PFL, could a superfight even happen? Read more: Exclusive: Donn Davis Breaks Down How PFL Plans to Expand and Evolve MMA in 2025 Newsweek Sports spoke to PFL Founder and Chairman Donn Davis back in December 2024, and Davis stated there are no hurdles for cross-promotional fights. If the audience wants it that bad, they can get it. "As a guy who has done business deals for 35 years, there is no obstacle to any deal that people want to do. Any deal that people want to do will always get done. There is plenty of money here. There is plenty of opportunity here. There are no logistical barriers, there are no hurdles. When people want to do, it's gonna happen. And there are a lot of reasons to do this one," Davis stated. This comment could ring true now that Jones is for real proposing a superfight with Ngannou. Three Patriots Named as Hidden Gems for This Season

Three Patriots Named as Hidden Gems for This Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New England Patriots are a young team with tons of potential. There are the young stars who are destined to shine, like Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez, but every young team has some players who are just waiting for their chance to get some of the limelight as well. The Patriots have seen this all too many times, as evidenced by undrafted wide receiver Jakobi Meyers making the team in 2019 or Josh Uche's jump from three sacks to 11.5. Advertisement There are destined to be some sleepers, and Cameron Zunkel of ClutchPoints gave his top three for the Patriots this season. There is a lot of potential and young talent to choose from on this new era Patriots team, and the first name that was brought up is one of the Patriots' newest weapons. Third-round wide receiver Kyle Williams from Washington State was the first name listed. Williams was fourth in the nation in touchdowns with 14, but was overshadowed by big-name players like Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan. Williams started his career at UNLV and then transferred to play his last two seasons at Washington State. In his senior season, he had 70 catches for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is everything the Patriots offense lacks. He has speed, he can make big plays down the field, and he is great off the line of scrimmage. Stefon Diggs was the big-name free agent, and Patriots fans are excited to see how Demario Douglas progresses, but don't be surprised if Williams ends up top three in receiving yards for the Patriots this season. The next player listed was fourth-year cornerback Marcus Jones. Jones is a special Swiss army knife type of player who has made plays for the Patriots in all three phases of the ball. Jones has been an All-Pro returner, and he gets talked about for his versatility, but he has yet to receive the recognition he deserves at his true position, cornerback. New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones (25) tackles Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (4) at State Farm J. Rebilas-Imagn Images It gets overshadowed by all of his talent, but Jones was a really solid corner for New England last year. He played in 14 games, nine of which he started, and recorded 58 tackles, one tackle for loss, 10 pass deflections, one interception, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Advertisement He played great in his role, and it looks like he is going to get a bigger one this upcoming season. It seems that the starting nickel cornerback job may end up being his, and if it is, he is going to show that he is not only a great returner but a great cornerback. Lastly, linebacker Christian Elliss was named as a potential hidden gem. Elliss started as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021 and played almost three seasons there before getting released and signed by the Patriots, where he has played 20 games. Elliss started in five of the 16 games he played, and he recorded 80 tackles, one tackle for loss, one and a half sacks, one interception, five pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Elliss was another player that excelled and their role, and he is another player that could see an increase in snaps and starts. He is expected to be a starter this season, and with Jahlani Tavai already going down early in OTAs, his reps and opportunity should only increase. A lot of people are excited to see how players like Milton Williams and Will Campbell look in their new threads, but there will be a few new household names in Patriots fans' houses. There are a lot of unproven guys, but there is also a lot of potential, and new head coach Mike Vrabel is looking to squeeze out every bit he can get.
