Women dominate Gold Logie 2025 nominations as new award honouring legend revealed
Women have dominated the Gold Logie field for the first time, scoring six of the seven nominations. Two-time Gold Logie winner Hamish Blake is the sole male contender, while Julia Morris and Sonia Kruger have both nominated for a fourth time. They are joined by first-time Gold Logie nominees Ally Langdon, Lisa Millar, Poh Ling Yeow and Lynne McGranger.
Meanwhile, the ABC has once again triumphed in the nominations, with 44 in total, including 38 nods in the best categories, with nominations across drama, comedy, children's and entertainment Netflix was the most awarded streamer, with Apple Cider Vinegar and Territory scoring a total of 15 nominations.
Meanwhile, five-time Gold Logie winner Ray Martin has been honoured with the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter. A publicly voted award, it stands alongside the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter and the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.
Martin announced the nominees – Ally Langdon (Nine), David Speers (ABC), Michael Usher (Seven), Peter Overton (Nine), Sarah Ferguson (ABC) and Tara Brown (Nine) – for his award at the Sydney Opera House on Monday morning.
More than ever, the nominations felt like a changing of the guard, with acting heavyweights and serial nominees, Asher Keddie, David Wenham, Claudia Karvan, William McInnes and Sam Reid, all overlooked. Instead, rising stars were lauded such as Apple Cider Vinegar's Alycia Debnam-Carey and Aisha Dee, The Newsreader's Michelle Lim Davidson, Territory's Sam Corlett, and Stan's Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Movie's Jenna Owen and Vic Zerbst. That pair's ABC satire Optics was also nominated for best comedy.
Netflix ruled the 'best' categories, with cancer conwoman drama Apple Cider Vinegar the most successful show, with eight nominations, including best miniseries or telemovie and best lead actress in a drama for US star Kaitlyn Dever, who starred as Belle Gibson, and Alycia Debnam-Carey, who played terminally ill wellness guru Milla Blake.
It was closely followed by Territory, the 'Dallas with dingoes' outback romp, which scored seven nominations, including best drama, best lead actress for Anna Torv and best lead actor nods for Michael Dorman, Robert Taylor and Sam Corlett.
Kitty Flanagan's ABC sitcom Fisk once again led the comedy pack, with five nominations, including best comedy, best actress for Flanagan, and best actor for Aaron Chen. It was followed by Binge's Colin From Accounts and Stan's Good Cop/Bad Cop, both receiving four nominations each.

ABC Radio Australia's Marshall Islands launch completes historic Pacific expansion
ABC Radio Australia's ambitious two-year FM expansion project in the Pacific has concluded with the recent launch in the Marshall Islands of a new FM transmitter. Residents of Majuro atoll are the latest listeners to join the network, which has doubled and now extends to 25 locations across the region. The expansion project was funded by the Australian Federal Government's Indo Pacific Broadcasting Strategy and began in 2023, when ABC Radio Australia established an FM service in Gizo, Solomon Islands. Since then, the ABC has partnered with broadcasters and transmission providers across the region, to develop and launch services in Federated States of Micronesia (Pohnpei), Palau (Koror), Nauru, Kiribati (Tarawa), Tuvalu (Funafuti), Cook Islands (Rarotonga), Auki in the Solomon Islands and three additional Papua New Guinea locations, in East New Britain (Kokopo), Manus Island (Lorengau) and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Buka). Alongside its investment in broadcast and delivery infrastructure, ABC Radio Australia has also tripled its Pacific content offering, launching new news, music, sport and cultural programming to better entertain and inform its growing audiences. ABC Radio Australia celebrated the milestone by co-hosting an event with the Australian Ambassador to the Marshall Islands, Paul Wilson, at his residence in Majuro. The event was attended by representatives of the Marshall Islands Government. ABC International Head Claire M. ABC Radio claws back Melbourne listeners as Kyle and Jackie O sink
The ABC's Melbourne radio station has managed to claw back its audience share following the federal election and a record-low result in the previous survey. ABC Radio Melbourne posted a 6.2 per cent share of listeners in the city, up 1.9 percentage points from the previous survey's low of a 4.3 per cent share of listeners in the city, the largest increase of any Melbourne station between March 9 and May 31 by far. Its new breakfast line-up featuring former AFL footballer Bob Murphy and former Channel Seven reporter Sharnelle Vella performed particularly well, lifting its audience share by two percentage points to 7.6 per cent. Meanwhile, the audience share of KIIS FM's breakfast duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson dropped by 0.7 percentage points to 5.1 per cent. Notably, survey timeslots do not always correlate precisely with program timeslots. This is a reversal of the pair's gains in the previous survey result, when they lifted 0.7 of a percentage point in their largest spike since launching in Melbourne just over a year ago. The about-turn in their ratings fortunes comes less than two months after Sandilands threatened to pull their show out of Melbourne if it continued to perform poorly. The ABC's Murphy and Vella breakfast duo leapfrogged Kyle and Jackie O in the breakfast slot (5.30am to 9am). ABC's Drive program (4pm to 7pm), hosted by Ali Moore, performed even better, increasing its share by 2.1 percentage points to 5.7 per cent. This brings it above its share in the same survey last year, which was 5.4 per cent. Raf Epstein's Mornings show on the ABC was the only program not to lose share during the previous survey. It continues to make strides, increasing its share of listeners by 2 percentage points to 6.8 per cent. This also marks an improvement from the same survey last year, which posted a 6 per cent share. 3AW* lost the greatest share of listeners, though it still remains at the top of the ratings chart, beating runner-up and FM leader Gold by 0.7 percentage points. 3AW posted a 12.5 per cent listener share, down from 14.1 during the previous survey.
