NFL host Erin Andrews 'broken hearted' after revealing devastating family news
Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews shared heartbreaking news this week as she announced her surrogate had suffered a miscarriage.
Andrews and her husband, Jarret Stoll, share a two-year-old son, Mack, but were trying for a second child via surrogate.
And while Andrews said that things were going 'really, really well' with the process, she told listeners of her Calm Down with Erin and Charissa podcast that she had some 'real s***y news' to share.
'So I have dealt with this before, but things were going really, really well. And her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good - so much so I even told you guys a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news,' Andrews said, via People.
'But Ryan [her producer], you did such a bang-up job with this podcast today. I've been trying really hard to pay attention, I've just been tearing up the whole time and trying to stay focused. But I'm also really really good at suppressing my feelings and work really helps me with that.'
Andrews, who works as an NFL sideline reporter for Fox Sports, previously told the TODAY show that she experienced '10 years of hell' before welcoming son Mack via surrogate in 2023.
Following a cervical cancer diagnosis in 2016 (she was declared cancer-free that same year), Andrews and Stoll explored IVF as a way of having a child.
However, she ultimately underwent nine unsuccessful rounds of IVF before turning to surrogacy.
'I kinda made a promise to myself that when I was really open with how s****y infertility has been and our journey with two surrogates, because we did lose…we had loss with our first surrogate and then luckily with our second one, we had Mack, that I was just going to be honest with people,' said Andrews, who added she had a 'broken heart' from the most recent news.
'I just wanted to be open with people and be like, 'This sucks.' And today, this really does. It makes you really realize when I have my little boy, and today he was throwing a fit royale with us, it's like, you know what? It doesn't matter.'
Andrews, 47, also revealed in March that she wanted to 'pass out' from a health scare.
She shared on her podcast that she was dealing with a painful skin issue, though she initially feared it was something worse.
'I went for the old - 'Oh it's a great idea until you get in the car' skin check - the whole shebang… I wanted to pass out in the middle of it because I'm so afraid they're going to find something,' she said.
Andrews has been with Fox Sports since 2012, and has covered five Super Bowls (including this year's) among other big events.

Wings rookie Paige Bueckers puts up 35 in return to action
June 12 - Dallas rookie standout Paige Bueckers returned from a four-game absence on Wednesday and put up a career-high 35 points in the Wings' 93-80 road loss to the Phoenix Mercury.
