Bayern thrash team of forklift drivers and fizzy drinks salesmen 10-0 in Fifa farce
Bayern Munich crushed part-timers Auckland City 10-0 as the controversial Fifa Club World Cup served up its worst ever mismatch in Cincinnati.
The biggest deficit in the competition's history had appeared inevitable from kick-off in a match between the two teams with the largest gulf in squad value.
Auckland's squad is made up of forklift drivers, a fizzy drinks salesman, real-estate agents and a warehouse manager. Predictably, the 4,957th side in the Opta world rankings were reduced to just one chance for the entire match against the rampant Bundesliga champions.
The victory comfortably surpassed the previous biggest victory at the Club World Cup – Al-Hilal's 6-1 win over Al-Jazira in 2022. But the expansion to 32 teams means more less-accomplished nations are getting the chance to compete.
There was little for the TQL Stadium to get excited about as Vincent Kompany's side sprayed the ball about at ease, with Jamal Musiala scoring a hat-trick and Thomas Muller getting two goals as his long farewell to the club continued.
There would be no goal for Harry Kane, however, after the floodgates opened on six minutes through Kingsley Coman's sixth-minute header.
For Auckland, there will be little to take encouragement from ahead of the remainder of their group of death, in which they also face Benfica and Boca Juniors, with several of the New Zealand team's players not able to travel to America because of their work requirements back home.
Auckland never got a foothold in the game in stifling temperatures, with Sacha Boey crashing home Coman's knockdown on the half-volley to double Bayern's advantage 12 minutes later.

Chelsea too good for Los Angeles in Club World Cup
Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez have each scored goals to propel Chelsea to a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles FC in their Club World Cup clash in Atlanta. Chelsea struck first in the 34th minute, as Neto received a perfect downfield pass from Nicolas Jackson before sending defender Ryan Hollingshead to the ground with a fake and finding the back of the net with a strike that beat goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. The all-important insurance goal in Monday's Group D match came in the 79th minute as Liam Delap sent in a beautiful cross to Fernandez, who finished with a left-footed shot from a few yards out. Chelsea will continue its group play on Friday when it faces Flamengo in Philadelphia, while LAFC will play ES Tunis later that day in Nashville. After a first half that saw Chelsea pick up a pair of yellow cards, the two sides had to be separated as Neto and Denis Bouanga clashed. Chelsea nearly doubled its advantage in the 54th minute, when Neto's entry pass to Jackson in the box was headed toward the goal before Timothy Tillman blocked the attempt. Bouanga had a great chance to even the score in the 57th minute, but the shot from the left of the box was saved by Robert Sanchez. Manager Enzo Maresca was pleased with Chelsea's performance but was already looking towards the next match. "Very good result. At this stage of the season it is also normal that you have to manage different kinds of things," he said. "Overall the performance has been good. "We have to recover. We have a game in three days so we will see. "We are going to prepare in the best way and for sure try to win." Monday's match was played in front of just 22,137 fans in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium that has a capacity of 71,000. Chelsea played in front of more than 70,000 fans at the same venue against Newcastle in the Premier League's Summer Series just a couple of years ago but many seats were empty this time as Maresca's side claimed the first three points of their campaign. Bayern, PSG bang in the goals at Club World Cup
Bayern Munich have hammered Auckland City 10-0 in Club World Cup match that only demonstrated the embarrassing gulf between some of the sides in FIFA's overblown event. Jamal Musiala scored a hat-trick in a 17-minute span of the second half on Sunday in front of a crowd that unfurled a banner pronouncing "Smash FIFA!" while accusing the governing body of mismanagement. Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman and Michael Olise scored two goals each for the German Bundesliga champions. Bayern had 17 shots on target to Auckland's one. Musiala, a 22-year-old midfielder, replaced Harry Kane in the 61st minute, making his first appearance since April 4 after recovering from a hamstring injury. He scored in the 67th minute, converted a penalty kick in the 73rd and scored again in the 84th. Before a crowd of 21,152 at TQL Stadium, fans displayed a red-and-white banner referring to the 2015 raid by US law enforcement officers at a Zurich hotel that led to the arrest of many soccer officials: "10 Years Baur Au Lac — World Football Is More Poorly Governed than Before! Smash FIFA!" Bayern built a 4-0 lead by midway through the first half when Sacha Boey scored in the 18th, Olise in the 20th and Coman in the 21st. Muller, the 35-year-old who plans to leave Bayern this summer, added a goal in the 45th minute and Olise made it 6-0 in the third minute of first-half stoppage time. "It is an unbelievable challenge to play against one of the world's best teams, and I think as the goals went in, obviously you get down on yourself and that gets more challenging," said Auckland forward Angus Kilkolly. "We did try our very hardest to keep them out." In Los Angeles, Paris Saint-Germain picked up right where they left off in their first match since winning the UEFA Champions League last month, turning what was billed as a blockbuster into a 4-0 rout of Atletico Madrid. The sunsoaked midday match, timed to accommodate fans watching in Europe, drew 80,619 people to the sunsoaked Rose Bowl in Pasadena on a day when conditions led to water breaks in both halves. "It's the best scheduled time for the European countries, but it's difficult to play in these conditions," PSG coach Luis Enrique said after the Group B clash. Despite being without injured Ballon d'Or favourite Ousmane Dembele, the young team earned the win behind goals from four different players - Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Senny Mayulu and Lee Kang-in. Elsewhere, Palmeiras drew 0-0 with FC Porto in New Jersey and Seattle fell 2-1 on home turf to Botafogo.
