The Brief
Black Swan MKE, a wedding and event venue in Milwaukee, has suddenly shut down.
At least a dozen venues have offered up their spaces for couples impacted by the sudden closure.
The company said in a statement, "It can't comment at this time."
MILWAUKEE - More brides and grooms are scrambling after a Milwaukee wedding venue suddenly shut down.
What we know
At least a dozen venues have offered up their spaces for couples impacted by the sudden closure of Black Swan MKE. Court documents show the owners of Plant No. 4, operated by Black Swan MKE, were evicted in November 2024.
FOX6 News has reached out to Black Swan MKE several times over the last two days. The company said in a statement, "It can't comment at this time" – and asked FOX6 news to hold off until next week.
Local perspective
It took more than two years to plan, but her daughter's big day was almost here. But now, Tess said her daughter only has three weeks to find a new wedding venue.
"It's just mind-boggling to me that a company can be this ruthless," Tess said. "It was so emotional for her. We are three weeks away from her wedding. They didn't even notify her that there were any issues. Nothing. They just wanted the money."

Tess said the couple booked their wedding for April 12 at Plant No. 4. She only found out the venue had closed when she saw the story on FOX6 News.
"It's just been gut-wrenching to be honest," Tess said. "To request money in January for a final payment, that, in itself, is so unethical. So unethical."
Brooke Moder and her fiance, Calvin Miller, booked with a different Black Swan MKE venue, Eagle's Crest.
What they're saying
"Having to find a new venue, we are going to have to put another deposit down and it's something we weren't prepared for financially," the couple said. "Stomach dropped, devastated, shocked. It's heartbreaking too because we've been working so hard on this day for the past year."
Big picture view
Some venues are trying to save the day, with more than a dozen hospitality groups are now stepping in, offering to help couples avoid a big disaster before their big day.
"Everybody was talking, saying what can I do to help?" Saz's Hospitality Group Director of Business Development Jaime Peterson said. "Get these people back into a happy place and excited about planning their wedding again."

The presentation of these non-GAAP financial measures is not intended to be considered in isolation from, or as a substitute for, or superior to, operating loss and or net income (loss) or any other performance measures derived in accordance with GAAP or as an alternative to net cash provided by operating activities or any other measures of our cash flows or liquidity. We use Contribution Margin (Loss) and Adjusted EBITDA to evaluate the performance of our operating segments. We believe that information about these non-GAAP financial measures assists investors by allowing them to evaluate changes in the operating results of our business separate from non-operational factors that affect operating income (loss) and net income (loss), thus providing insights into both operations and the other factors that affect reported results. Adjusted EBITDA is not calculated or presented in accordance with GAAP. A limitation of the use of Adjusted EBITDA as a performance measure is that it does not reflect the periodic costs of certain amortizing assets used in generating revenue in our business. Accordingly, Adjusted EBITDA should be considered in addition to, and not as a substitute for operating income (loss), net income (loss), and other measures of financial performance reported in accordance with GAAP. Furthermore, this measure may vary among other companies; thus, Adjusted EBITDA as presented herein may not be comparable to similarly titled measures of other companies. Contribution Margin (Loss) is defined as Revenue less Cost of Sales. Adjusted EBITDA is defined as earnings before interest, other (income) expense, income tax expense, depreciation and amortization and before (a) non-cash GAAP purchase accounting adjustments for certain deferred revenue and costs, (b) legal, accounting and other professional fees directly attributable to acquisition activity, (c) employee severance payments and third party professional fees directly attributable to acquisition or corporate realignment activities, (d) certain non-recurring expenses associated with legal settlements or reserves for legal settlements in the period that pertain to historical matters that existed at acquired companies prior to their purchase date and a one-time minimum guarantee to effectively terminate a live events distribution agreement post COVID-19, and (e) certain stock-based compensation expense. Management does not consider these costs to be indicative of our core operating results. With respect to projected full Fiscal 2026 Adjusted EBITDA, a quantitative reconciliation is not available without unreasonable efforts due to the high variability, complexity and low visibility with respect to purchase accounting adjustments, acquisition-related charges and legal settlement reserves excluded from Adjusted EBITDA. We expect that the variability of these items to have a potentially unpredictable, and potentially significant, impact on our future GAAP financial results. Samsung Confirms AI Upgrade Choice—This Changes Your Phone

This decision defines the future of your phone. A timely warning from Samsung this week, which neatly sets out the biggest upgrade decision now facing Android users. As whispers start to spread suggesting a disconnect between Samsung and Google at the heart of Android, this is critical. We're talking AI and the new features and offerings now hitting phones and PCs at breakneck speed. This is where Galaxy has an advantage, Samsung says, 'in privacy-first, AI-powered experiences' which can 'protect you in the era of AI.' The question the Galaxy-maker asks in its latest post is the right one: 'This level of personalization' brought by AI 'can be incredibly helpful, but the more your phone knows, the more there is to protect. So, what's keeping all that personal data secure?' Samsung's answer is Knox. 'Every Galaxy device is protected from the chip up by a multi-layered approach, which includes on-device personalization, user-controlled cloud processing, and ecosystem-wide protection through Samsung Knox Matrix.' This is Samsung's secure ecosystem that is the closest replica to Apple's securely walled garden currently available on Android. 'At the core of this system is Samsung Knox Vault, Samsung's hardware-based solution for your most sensitive information.' Knox is not new and neither is the concept of hardware-enabled Galaxy data security. What is new is segmenting sensitive the latest AI-related data from the rest, and securing that alongside the more traditional PINs, passwords and credit card numbers. 'Location service metadata from your most personal photos,' Samsung says, 'could easily give away the exact location where the image was taken.' And there's not much data more sensitive than who did what, where and when. 'In the era of AI, personal information like your home address, face clustering ID, person ID, pet type, scene type and more need to be encrypted and stored in a safe location. These things aren't just files — they are deeply connected to your daily life.' It's unclear exactly what is being or will be segmented and how this plays into the various opt-ins that Samsung has added to distinguish between on-device and cloud AI, between what is only within your secure enclave and what is outside. But it's difficult not to read this push as a play against the latest announcements from Google and the cloud-based AI that will now run riot across sensitive data, including emails and even cloud data storage. Yes, there are always opt-outs, but it's all or nothing for users who want AI but are not yet worrying about privacy. 'As Galaxy AI becomes more useful,' Samsung says, 'it also becomes more personal — learning how you use your device and adapting to your needs… Knox Vault is more than a security feature, it's Galaxy's promise that no matter how advanced your devices become, or how much AI evolves, your privacy is secured.'

This change to audio previews in Google Messages could help save your mobile data (APK teardown)

Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority TL;DR Google Messages is testing a larger Floating Action Button for Gemini. Further, voice messages and audio files may soon display their file size before downloading, helping you decide whether to download them on mobile data or Wi-Fi. A new Gallery-opening animation is also being worked on to improve visual fluidity when attaching media. Google Messages continues to evolve into a polished messaging app for Android flagships. Google has been working hard behind the scenes, and you can see some of the results, like the Material 3 Expressive design overhaul rolling out to more users. There's more coming, as we've spotted code for several minor changes within Google Messages v20250602 beta, and we've managed to activate them before their release to give you an early look. An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release. Firstly, Google is experimenting with a bigger Floating Action Button (FAB) for Gemini. This button is similar to the Start Chat button now in its collapsed state. In the images below, the left screen showcases the current UI, while the right screen shows the upcoming UI with the larger Gemini button. You'll notice that the bigger button is seemingly misaligned when the Start Chat button is collapsed. However, we believe this alignment issue will likely be fixed if and when Google decides to roll this out to more users. Another small change coming to RCS users concerns voice messages and audio files. In chat conversations, voice messages show a grayed-out audio player to indicate that the file is being downloaded. Google Messages could soon showcase the download size and download progress of voice messages and audio files when you receive them, before downloading. You can see the current UI on the left and the upcoming change on the right screen in the image below: AssembleDebug / Android Authority It's not a big deal for voice notes, but audio files can sometimes be large. Knowing their size before downloading can help you decide whether to download them on your limited data connection or switch to your more generous Wi-Fi connection. Another change coming to Google Messages is a new animation when you open the Gallery to attach images or videos. Currently, this action doesn't have a proper animation, as you can see in this video: In the future, Google could add a proper animation for this action, as you can see in this video: Most users will likely never notice the animation, but it's a small but nice change that shows off attention to detail in the user experience. As mentioned, these changes are not currently live. We don't know if and when Google will roll them out within Google Messages. We'll keep you updated when we learn more. Got a tip? Talk to us!
