WhatsApp will give you the option to let others share your status updates

GSM Arenaa day ago

The latest feature that WhatsApp is working on is the ability for you to allow others to share your status updates. This is now live in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, which means it will probably make it to the non-beta track in the next few weeks or months.
The feature is pretty self-explanatory, really. The main point here is that this will be off by default. So if you want to let others share your status updates, you will have to turn that on during the creation of each status update. And when someone shares your status, you will be notified.
However, viewers of the shared status won't see that it was you who created it, in order to preserve your privacy. Interestingly, if someone re-shares a shared status you created, you won't be notified of this action - only the person who first shared yours. That's because a shared status basically creates a new version of it.
Up until now, sharing status updates was only possible by those who were directly mentioned in one. But with this new feature, anyone can share your statuses if you allow sharing. Of course, this greatly aids in the visibility of your statuses, if that's something you want.

Samsung's unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 to be later than previously rumored

Samsung has been rumored to hold its next Unpacked event, where it will introduce the Galaxy Z Fold7 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7, in New York in early July, but now a new rumor comes to contradict that. According to a tipster over on X, the event will actually take place in mid-July. Unfortunately, there's no exact date to speak of, at least not yet. The same source also claims the Galaxy Z Fold7 will have better cameras, bigger screens, "better stamina", and, unfortunately, a higher price than its predecessor. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 For its part, Samsung has already started teasing a bunch of "Ultra" features a few days ago, which made us think it would be launching an Ultra version of the phone as well - but in the meantime, that's been debunked. So it's looking like all of those "Ultra" features will come at a premium. The wait for foldable smartphone prices to come down to more affordable levels thus continues, and at this rate, it's unclear if it will ever happen. Anyway, the Fold7 has been rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, even though the timing of its launch isn't great - this SoC's successor is getting announced in late September, only around two months after the Fold7's sales will probably start. Honor 400 Pro review

The Honor 400 duo is now globally available and it offers plenty of nice perks. And while the jury is still out on which model - the Honor 400 Pro or the Honor 400 - should be the one to enter everyone's shortlists, we are going to explore the more premium Honor 400 Pro first. The Honor 400 Pro comes one year after the Honor 200 Pro, and it brings a more durable design, an improved display, a more powerful chipset, and better main and zoom cameras. The focus this year is on AI, of course, which Honor has taken to the next level with cool features like Image to Video, Outpainting, Cutout background, Open Eyes, and more. The Honor 400 Pro trumps the Honor 400 with faster hardware, a larger display, better durability, Wi-Fi 7 readiness, and a telephoto camera with 3x zoom. Those extra features cost over €250+, though. Honor 400 Pro next to the Honor 400 Indeed, the Honor 400 Pro introduces a durability level like never before - it is IP68 and IP69 rated for dust, water and high-pressure water jets resistance. It has also scored SCS's 5 stars rating for Premium Performance Certification of Drop & Crush Resistance. The phone packs a 6.7-inch OLED display with 1,280p resolution, 10-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR certification. The Honor 400 Pro is powered by one of the best chips on the market - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The cameras have always been a strong side of Honor and that is the case with the Honor 400 Pro. The rear camera kit packs a 200MP OIS primary (1x-2x), a 50MP OIS telephoto (3x-6x), and a 12MP ultrawide with autofocus. The front setup accommodates a 50MP selfie imager and a 2MP depth sensor. The Honor 400 Pro comes with a 5,300 mAh Si/C battery capable of up to 100W wired and up to 50W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also an option. Honor 400 Pro comes with Android 15 and MagicOS 9, and you can expect 6 years of Android updates. It seems like Honor has thought of everything for the Honor 400 Pro, so we have no complaints at the spec sheet level. The price of €799 also seems reasonable for a flagship, especially when Honor is also giving freebies like Honor Choice Earbuds Clip headphones, a 100W charger and premium screen protection with one-time free screen replacement. Unboxing the Honor 400 Pro The phone ships in a thin white paper box. The bundle contains a USB-C cable and nothing else. In previous years, we used to get a charger and case, but not with this generation. The Honor 400 Pro arrives with a factory pre-applied protective folio on the display, which is expected. Page 2

The most powerful Android tablet is also a technological wonder

The upcoming RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro blurs the line between tablets and smartphones when it comes to size. In fact, this is the industry's first small tablet with the fastest charging speed. It's also the industry's first OLED gaming tablet, at least according to RedMagic. But what makes the Tablet 3 Pro stand out is its raw power. RedMagic's slate is, obviously, designed for gaming, so it comes with very powerful hardware. First off, we have a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset featuring a dedicated vapor chamber. Secondly, RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro boasts an incredible 9-inch OLED display with 165Hz refresh rate and peak local brightness of 1,600 nits. According to the Chinese company, its flagship's display is industry's first to feature 5280Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming. Besides that, the panel comes with a blue light filter and eye protection for those very long gaming sessions. Once again, RedMagic claims that this is the industry's first small tablet with the fastest charging speed. How fast you ask? Apparently, the RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro's battery charges 50% in just 22 minutes. It also supports bypass charging, which means that while charging, the tablet draws power directly from the charger instead of the battery. That not only reduces the need for battery cycling but also extends the battery lifespan in many cases. This chip supports wet hand touch and comes with advanced hot zone touch top it all off, RedMagic says the Tablet 3 Pro is the industry's first flat back cover tablet, which features the company's exclusive transparent active cooling fan design. RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro will be officially introduced in China on June 11. It will be available in two color options: Deuterium Blade Transparent Dark Night and Deuterium Blade Transparent Silver Wing. No details about prices have been revealed yet.
