'Best Wishes, Much Love": Rahul Gandhi To Armed Forces After Operation Sindoor

The Congress today said it fully supported the retaliatory action of the armed forces against the terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir following the Pahalgam massacre.
"Full support to our forces," said senior Congress leader and the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. "Best wishes and much love. We completely support the armed forces," he added.
Mr Gandhi confirmed that the Congress will be joining the all-party meet that will be held tomorrow.
The armed forces, greenlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week, launched a massive strike against the terror camps last night.
The 25-minute precision strikes from 1.05 to 1.30 an demolished the headquarters of Jaish-e Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hafiz Sayeed's Jamaat ud-Dawa and targetted camps across nine cities.
The missile strikes targeted terror camps across Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal -- areas that were under the scanner of intelligence agencies for long.
Twenty-five missiles were fired.
The army said 70 terrorists were neutralised.
Shortly after the April 22 attack in which 26 people were shot dead in Kashmir's Pahalgam, India took a series of non-military measures that included putting a freeze on the Indus water treaty, shutting the Attari border and cancelling visas of Pakistan nationals.
The Operation Sindoor is India's third retaliatory move against Pakistan-backed terror camps. Surgical strikes and air strikes were conducted after the terror attacks in Uri and Pulwama in 2016 and 2019.
But the latest operation was different from earlier instances in terms of both scale and scope. The joint operation by the Army and Air Force struck deep into Pakistan-occupied territory and represented an evolution in India's strategic posture.

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, the face of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, has been promoted as the deputy chief of army staff (strategy) and will continue to hold the appointment of director general military operations (DGMO), officials aware of the matter said on Monday. The understanding between India and Pakistan to cease military hostilities was announced on the evening of May 10 after Ghai and his Pakistani counterpart, Major General Kashif Abdullah, spoke over the hotline and agreed to stop all military actions against each other on land, in the air, and at sea. The two DGMOs spoke again on May 12 to uphold the truce. The confidence-building measures then discussed included continuing the May 10 commitment that both sides 'must not fire a single shot' or initiate any aggressive action against each other, and consider troop reduction in forward areas. Between the launch of the operation in the early hours of May 7 and the ceasefire on the evening of May 10, Indian forces bombed nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK and killed at least 100 terrorists. The Indian Air Force struck targets at 13 Pakistani air bases and military installations. Last week, it emerged that India's targeting of locations within Pakistan during the May 7-10 clash was more extensive than was previously known, with a Pakistani document acknowledging that Indian drones had struck locations ranging from Peshawar in the northwest to Hyderabad in the south. Pakistan's Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which was mounted in response to Operation Sindoor, 'folded in eight hours' on May 10, belying Islamabad's ambitious target of bringing India to its knees in 48 hours, chief of defence staff General Anil Chauhan said on June 3. Coinciding with the visit of these dignitaries, local tour and travel operators and hotel owners are reporting a gradual rise in the tourist bookings that had virtually stopped after the Pahalgam terror attack. Tour and travel operators and others connected with the tourist industry have expressed hope that the visit by the most respected legal dignitaries, like the high court judges, will restore confidence among visitors, both domestic and foreign, that Kashmir is a safe tourist destination.

He stated that the previous government never accepted the Ayushman Yojana, Vay Bandhan Yojana, Arogya Mandir, PM Awas Yojana and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. "Wherever the central government's name came, the previous government and the chief minister always had a problem. Maybe that's why they never accepted Ayushman Yojana, Vay Bandhan Yojana, Arogya Mandir, PM Awas Yojana and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. What pain was in this?
