Delhi CNG Cylinder Blast: 2 Minors Died During Treatment, Say Police
Four individuals, including three minor siblings, were injured in a CNG cylinder blast at a godown in northeast Delhi's Sunder Nagri area on Saturday. According to ANI, the Delhi police have informed that two minors died during treatment.
The cylinder exploded at the warehouse, which was used to store and repair old CNG cylinders.
How Did Blast Occur?
The incident was reported at around 4:33 pm in Nand Nagri, after an explosion in a cylinder being repaired inside a godown in K-Block, according to the police.
A police team rushed to the scene of the incident and found that the blast had occurred during the repair of an old CNG cylinder. The explosion's force caused the warehouse's iron gate to break off, ANI reported.
Who Was Injured?
In the blast, three children, aged 4, 7, and 9, who were playing outside the premises at the time, sustained injuries. On the other hand, a 25-year-old worker inside the godown, identified as Arshad, was also hurt.

London [UK], June 4 (ANI): India's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Vikram Doraiswami, has said that there is great sympathy and understanding in the UK for what India has suffered due to cross-border terrorism that has emanated from Pakistan and Pakistan-controlled territory. In an interview with ANI, Doraiswami emphasised that India's ties with the UK have gained traction. The UK's approach to challenges that have persisted in South Asia has been much more understanding of India's concerns and more willing to respect that these problems need to be solved by India and Pakistan. Responding to questions about the all-party Indian delegation's meetings in the UK, Doraiswami said, 'I don't want to put words into either our parliamentarians' mouths or those of our British friends, but I think there was a great deal of receptivity to the message. There is great sympathy and understanding in the UK for what India has gone through in terms of our long and painful journey with cross-border terrorism that has emanated from Pakistan-controlled territory and the state of Pakistan. There is a great sense of understanding of the anger and hurt in India that this scourge just doesn't go away.' 'That said, of course, the UK has its own position. It's a sovereign government. It will take its own decisions, but in the last decade and more, we see a steady evolution as our relationship with the UK has gained weight, traction, and strategic dimensions. The UK's approach to challenges that have long persisted in South Asia has been much more understanding of our concerns, much more willing to respect the fact that these are problems that have to be solved by India and Pakistan and indeed all other problems in the region by the region. And that India's rise is, in broader terms, the greatest benefit of the Indo-Pacific region and the world as a whole. So, that sense comes through to all our parliamentarians,' he added. Doraiswami emphasised that the all-party delegation's visit was aimed at conveying the sentiments of Indian citizens, and India welcomed the international community's understanding of the country's need to ensure national security. When asked about the Indian delegation's expectations from the UK, he said, 'I shouldn't, we should never set out expectations of a friend. We have come here as far as I can understand from our parliamentary leaders, the people of India as representatives, that we are not here to seek favour from anybody. We are here to explain our position. We are here to point out what the people of India feel, and of course. We welcome the fact that our partners understand what we have to do, but we will do what we need to do to secure the people of India, any government of India, the current government in particular, are committed and will always remain committed to do whatever is necessary to secure our people, and that message has landed.' The all-party delegation, led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, was in the UK to garner widespread support for India's fight against terrorism and to expose Pakistan's role in fostering terrorism. "Insulted India, armed forces...": BJP MP Sambit Patra slams Rahul Gandhi over Operation Sindoor remarks
New Delhi [India], June 4 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sambit Patra launched a sharp attack on Congress MP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on India's retaliatory military action against Pakistan and Operation Sindoor, accusing him of 'insulting the country and its armed forces.' The BJP MP said Rahul Gandhi's speech in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday does not befit any 'civilised politician or any leader of the opposition.' Sharing a self-made video on X, Sambit Patra said, 'Today, during his speech in Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi has not only insulted Operation Sindoor but also the Indian Army and the country. The way Rahul Gandhi spoke about Operation Sindoor does not befit any civilised politician, any leader of the opposition or any politician. This kind of politician, who uses words like 'surrender' for his motherland, is not fit for the country.' 'The terrorist attack of Pahalgam was avenged by entering a nuclear-powered country, nine terrorist hideouts were destroyed, more than 100 terrorists were killed, and when retaliation took place, 11 airbases of Pakistan were destroyed. All this is on record, there is evidence... India has never surrendered to terrorism,' he added. Patra further said, 'When there was a logjam between India and China over Doklam, Rahul Gandhi's entire family was caught spying against India...' This comes after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP-led government on Tuesday over allegations of mediation by the United States in Operation Sindoor. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'followed' Donald Trump following a call by the US leader and that the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi did not budge to the US in the 1971 war. Addressing a convention of Congress workers in Bhopal, LoP Rahul Gandhi said, 'Now, I understand RSS-BJP well. They run away out of fear if slight pressure is put on them. When Trump called Modiji- Modiji kya kar rahe ho, Narender-Surrender and with 'ji hazooor', Narenderji followed Trump. BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan launched a blistering attack on Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, accusing him of cowardice and hypocrisy. He alleged that Congress has a legacy of appeasement and weak leadership. Responding to Rahul Gandhi's recent comments critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kesavan said, 'The Congress party, ever since Nehru's days, has been hyphenated with cowardice. Rahul Gandhi says don't be afraid, but he himself is afraid to release the contents of 51 cartons of letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru, which rightfully belong to the nation.' Referring to recent military operations, Kesavan said Gandhi's remarks insulted the armed forces. Uttarakhand government takes action against senior officials over corruption and financial irregularities
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 4 (ANI): Under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's 'zero tolerance' policy, the Uttarakhand government has initiated action against several senior officials on charges of corruption, misuse of office, disproportionate assets, and financial irregularities. According to an official release, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, concrete and decisive steps are being taken towards transparent and accountable governance in Uttarakhand. The clear objective of the Uttarakhand government is to make the state corruption-free and ensure accountability in the administration. In recent months, the government has shown that action will be taken against all officials, irrespective of their position or influence. According to the release, the state government has taken action against 'big names' so far, such as the Haridwar land scam, which involved 12 people. These comprised two IAS and one PCS official who have been suspended. The other action was taken against IAS officer Ram Vilas Yadav, who was suspended on serious charges of disproportionate assets and corruption. Investigation agencies have started a deep investigation against him as his income source is unclear. Another action was initiated against IFS officer Kishan Chand. This senior officer of the Forest Department has been accused of misuse of power and disproportionate assets. Strict administrative action has been taken against him. Garden Director Harminder Singh Baveja was suspended due to corruption and financial irregularities in the Horticulture Department. The state government also took action against the Finance Controller of the Ayurveda University, Amit action was taken against him for ignoring orders related to corruption and disregarding financial rules. Bhupendra Kumar, the Deputy General Manager, Finance, Transport Corporation, was suspended for taking bribes and for financial irregularities. Vigilance is conducting a detailed investigation. Mahipal Singh, Lekhpal, was caught red-handed demanding a bribe. A case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act. In another case, a vigilance investigation was initiated against PCS officer Nidhi Yadav after complaints of corruption in various cases. The deputy registrar of the Stamp and Registration Department, Ramdatt Mishra, was suspended due to irregularities in stamp duty and land registration. Senior State Tax Department officers, VP Singh, Dr Kuldeep Singh and Yashpal Singh, were suspended immediately on suspicion of gross negligence in work and corruption. The government clarified that the currently employed and retired officers will be investigated if they have committed irregularities during their service period. Cases like copying and paper leak in various recruitment examinations conducted in the state have been taken very seriously. According to the release, 57 copy mafia members have been sent to jail so far. Strict action has been taken against 24 accused under the Gangster Act. This has sent out the message that nobody can tamper with the examination system in the state. Earlier on Tuesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami attended a review meeting with Union Road Minister Nitin Gadkari on the ropeway project developments in the state. He addressed the convocation ceremony of the Graphic Era Deemed University in Dehradun and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state had been working towards becoming a leader in education.
