Euro-Med Monitor: "Israel" continues to impose famine as tool of genocide

Saba Yemen27-05-2025

Geneva – Saba:
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stated on Tuesday that "Israel" continues to impose famine as a weapon of genocide, pushing civilians into humiliating chaos at aid distribution points.
In a statement, the Monitor held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip and for forcing civilians into degrading disorder at distribution points under their supervision.
It added that the dangerous chaos witnessed today exemplifies "Israel's" use of aid as a weapon of humiliation, subjugation, and destruction, exposing the deliberate collapse of any possibility of accessing food.
The Monitor confirmed that its field team observed today's aid distribution process and documented evidence of the absence of minimum humanitarian standards, both in terms of the distribution location and method.
The report noted that thousands of starving civilians were forced to walk long kilometers to a single, deliberately humiliating distribution point, where they were funneled into narrow, fenced corridors to receive limited food parcels.
The occupation forces deliberately humiliated civilians by trapping them between barbed wires, while the company managing the operation failed to provide even the minimum suitable conditions to accommodate the crowds that flocked to the site.
The Monitor's team observed scenes of complete chaos and organizational collapse, with no fair or dignified distribution mechanism in place.
It stressed that the occupation authorities have deliberately obstructed the work of international humanitarian organizations with expertise in relief operations and ensuring fair and organized aid access to civilians in Gaza.
Today's events reflect an abysmal failure in managing the humanitarian situation and demonstrate "Israel's" continued use of starvation as a weapon of genocide against civilians.
The food parcels distributed under the Israeli mechanism do not meet the minimum nutritional needs, and the limited distribution does not constitute any meaningful humanitarian response.
The Monitor emphasized that the occupation government, which uses starvation as a central tool to carry out genocide, cannot be a party to the humanitarian process in any form.

WHO condemns destruction of Kidney Dialysis Center in Northern Gaza by Israeli Forces

Geneva – SABA: The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on Tuesday condemned the Israeli military's destruction of the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ghebreyesus stated: 'The Noura dialysis center in northern Gaza is now a pile of rubble.' He emphasized that the destruction of this health facility poses a direct threat to the lives of patients suffering from kidney failure. The center had previously provided dialysis services to 40 patients per week before it was leveled. He noted that the WHO had managed to relocate 20 out of the 23 dialysis machines from the center to a safe location prior to the attack. Ghebreyesus renewed his call for a ceasefire and urged immediate protection for all health facilities and medical personnel. In his post, he also shared a before-and-after image comparison—one showing the center as it stood last year, and another depicting it reduced to rubble. Medical sources warned that the destruction of the center puts the health of kidney failure patients in northern Gaza in extreme jeopardy. They reported that 41% of such patients have died amid the ongoing genocide, due to denial of access to dialysis centers and the destruction of facilities dedicated to their care.
