Eid in the UAE is a special time. From dazzling fireworks to bustling markets, it's a time of celebration. And this year, Eid al-Fitr festivities are about to get even more exciting in Al Ain, as the garden city unveils its inaugural Ghaitah Al Ain 2025.
Taking place at the outdoor area of ADNEC Centre Al Ain, Ghaitah Al Ain 2025 will run for five days, beginning on the first day of Eid al-Fitr. Since the official date of Eid is determined by the moon sighting and is yet to be announced, the festival will commence on the first confirmed day of Eid, offering an immersive cultural experience.
Ghaitah Al Ain's slogan, A Festival for Our Own, highlights the event's emphasis on family and community. It's all about celebrating Emirati heritage while offering a mix of modern attractions and interactive experiences. From live performances to thrilling activities, this festival is set to be the highlight of Eid al-Fitr in Al Ain.
Ghaitah Al Ain 2025 is designed with multiple themed zones. The Heritage District celebrates Emirati culture with unique shopping experiences featuring traditional crafts and local cuisine. Echoes of Al Ain presents a sensory art experience with immersive sound, light and interactive installations. For thrill-seekers, the Activation Zone features an arcade, a smash room, a shooting range, and a jeep track, while Adventure Games offer high-speed zip-lining, a climbing wall, and physical challenges.
Art lovers can explore the Arts Oasis, showcasing curated exhibitions, live performances, and interactive displays. Kids can enjoy endless fun at the Inflatable Park, while animal lovers can visit the Petting Zoo to interact with friendly farm animals and experience horseback riding. The Workshop Area provides hands-on creative activities like pottery making, slime creation and more.
A variety of Middle Eastern and international flavours will also be on offer at the Food Hub. Beyond food and activities, shoppers can explore unique crafts, fashion, souvenirs, and specialty products at the Retail Market or make their way to the Stage which will be hosting live performances, cultural shows and musical acts to keep the energy.

Abu Dhabi's CMA, FilmGate partner to boost production sector, upskill local talent
Abu Dhabi's Creative Media Authority (CMA) has partnered with FilmGate, one of the UAE's leading independent, Emirati-owned and operated production houses, to establish a suite of benefits for the wider production industry in Abu Dhabi. FilmGate will produce a minimum of 15 productions in Abu Dhabi over the next five years, which will employ 50 per cent of production talent from within the CMA's ecosystem. The partnership will also provide extensive learning and development benefits for the ecosystem including annual workshops hosted by FilmGate for the industry on specialist production topics, as well as four- to six-month paid internships every year for young Emirati talent – with a view to providing permanent employment opportunities to grow and nurture talent from within the UAE. Founded by leading Emirati filmmaker Mansoor Al Yahbouni Al Dhaheri, FilmGate will also benefit from the recent update on the rebate offered by Abu Dhabi Film Commission where qualifying productions now can apply for cashback on production and post-production spend starting at 35 per cent up to 50 per cent based on meeting a clear set of criteria. Mansoor Al Yahbouni Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of FilmGate, added, 'It is a significant year for Abu Dhabi with the new rebate for production starting January 1 and a partnership of this nature with CMA will allow us to maximise all that Abu Dhabi offers in terms of filming locations, creative infrastructure, talent and financial support to produce more content than ever before.' Dubai Municipality Designates Four Beaches for Families During Eid Al-Adha
Dubai Municipality has announced the exclusive allocation of four public beaches for families during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, aiming to enhance safety, comfort, and the overall beach experience. The designated beaches are Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, Umm Suqeim 1, and Umm Suqeim 2. The move comes in response to the surge in visitors typically seen during the holiday period. By reserving these beaches for families, the Municipality seeks to create a more secure and enjoyable environment tailored to their needs. To ensure public safety, the Municipality has deployed 126 trained safety and rescue personnel equipped with advanced tools and support systems.
