How You Parent, Based on Your Zodiac Sign
How You Parent, Based on Your Zodiac Sign originally appeared on Parade.
Parenting a child is no easy task. Whether you're a mom, dad, aunt, uncle, or family friend, supporting and raising a little one is spiritually charged soul work. Everyone has their own philosophy, approach, or parenting beliefs, creating different temperaments, personalities, and habits. Read on to discover your personal parenting strengths, weaknesses, and style, based on expert astrologers.
Kristen Witte is the author of "The Children's Illustrated Book of Tarot". As Tarot grows in popularity, parents often want to share their hobbies, beliefs, and experiences with their little ones in a developmentally appropriate manner. Luckily, Witte has created the cutest conversation starter, breaking down the Major Arcana Tarot cards in a way that's easy to comprehend for the children in your life (and dare I say, the adults enjoy it too).
Parade Astrology's expert editor, MaKayla McRae, interviewed Kristen about a new resource for parents. Witte shares, "After practicing tarot for daily reflection, I realized how beneficial it could be for children when used appropriately.
As a former elementary school teacher, I know how effective visual aids can be in helping children express their emotions. Tarot combines engaging visuals with prompts that can replace the repetitive 'How was your day?' I wrote The Children's Illustrated Book of Tarot to facilitate deeper conversations between children and caregivers."

Witte shares, "As the first sign of the zodiac, you embody vigor and enthusiasm. With Mars as your ruling planet, you are a natural leader, thriving on competition and taking risks to achieve your goals. You often tackle problems directly, which can come across as assertive." This makes Aries a fun, loving, adventurous parent.
"In parenting, it's important to recognize when your energy might feel pushy. Remember that the path to a solution doesn't always need to be the quickest. Prioritize the end goal over the need to be 'right' to avoid clashing with your children." If Aries don't like to engage in ego battles or authoritarian bossiness, then why would your little one?
"Taurus is a grounded sign, making any place feel like home," author Kristen Witte shares. "You are resourceful and strong, creating a safe environment for those around you. While you enjoy the pleasures of everyday life, you may also be rigid in your ways, resisting changes to your routine. Remember, it's okay to change your mind and embrace spontaneity now and then!" When parenting, remember to honor the self-worth development of your little one by letting them direct the day or goal from time to time.

"As a Gemini, represented by the Twins, you have a unique ability to embrace multiple facets of yourself. You are intelligent, adaptable, and can easily navigate various situations," the author spills.
"With Mercury as your ruling planet, you excel in communication and can connect with many people. As a parent, use your adaptability to prompt and listen during discussions. However, be mindful of the tendency to switch between different moods. Strive to maintain consistency, even when you feel the urge to change quickly." Gemini's mutability may make for fun times; however, remember your little one may need stabilizing and grounding checks, too.
In astrology, Cancer is associated with maternal instincts, making it a natural parent in most cases. "Cancers are nurturing and deeply care for others, hypersensitive to emotions in themselves and those around them. You create a safe space for people to express their feelings and often know what they need before they say it," Witte shares.
"As a parent, keep communication open and loving, but be aware of the potential for resentment. Like the crab that represents you, Cancers can become irritable and snap back when they feel their own needs for care are overlooked." Remember, it's important to teach your children boundaries by example to foster healthy relationships with not only you, but others.
Author Witte shares, "Leos are charismatic, bold, and bright! You thrive on attention, and people gravitate to you accordingly. Like the Lion that represents your sign, you're courageous and strong, radiating light to those who surround you."
"You're beloved and social, leaning into the more fun and performative aspects of life and parenthood. Be careful of a natural tendency towards pride and ego. Not feeling appreciated can make you feel bitter or reclusive, like a lion shunned from its pack. Try to nip those behaviors in the bud if you feel them coming by communicating your needs and returning to our magnetic self." Shower your little one in royalty, yet remember to find confidence in the moments, even when they drop the ball on perfecting the performance.
"Virgos find strength in practical, high-quality work and are often motivated by service and discipline. You may feel energized when engaging in meaningful tasks, which can enhance your parenting. You thrive on structure and detail, aiming for excellence rather than settling for "good enough"", Kristen Witte shares.
"However, be cautious that this doesn't lead to micromanagement or a focus on flaws instead of the bigger picture. Embrace the little messes in life, as they can add joy and excitement to your journey." To be a healing force for your child, you must work to reduce the impact of your inner critical voice that limits your own inner child.
OTHER: 3 Zodiac Signs Divinely Guided by Their Ancestors
Witte spills, "As a parent, you embody fairness and patience, always considering different perspectives before making decisions. You often act as the peacekeeper in your family or friend group, prioritizing harmony over taking sides." Of course, this makes you a charming, diplomatic, harmonious example for your little one.
However, the author warns, "Just be careful not to let your desire to please others lead to indecision. Remember, your own happiness matters too." When we practice self-care and lead with a self-loving example, our children take note.
"Scorpios are passionate, resilient, and devoted. They maintain a strong focus on their goals and are highly intuitive, making it important for Scorpio parents to trust their instincts. They engage in deep conversations with their children and others, often trusting those close to them implicitly," the author shares.
With passionate, fierce love, though, comes intensity at times. "However, they should be cautious of reacting defensively, as they may strike when feeling threatened." Your children learn conflict resolution skills and emotional regulation from us - lead by example.
Kristen Witte shares love for the Sagittarius parents. "Your horizons are broad, and your future looks bright! You are inspired and curious about the world, naturally inclined to teach your children life's questions and adventures. Always eager for exploration—whether physical, spiritual, or intellectual—you foster a passion for life."
Even the greatest of parents have their hang-ups. "However, be cautious about acting impulsively; like the centaur's bow and arrow, a Sagittarius aims for the truth. Remember to balance your honesty with sensitivity in your words." You wouldn't want to confuse honesty with unfiltered passion that hurts your little one's feelings, would you?
RELATED: Spiritually Gifted Since Birth? 4 Signs You Have an Old Soul Aura
The author shares, "A Capricorn parent is structured, resourceful, and traditional, often acting as the family's pillar. You are intelligent and pragmatic, understanding that long-term gains surpass short-term excitement."
Remember, just be careful not to confuse firmness with harshness. "While you set boundaries effectively and know how to achieve goals, be mindful not to rely solely on logic. Remember that emotions are essential for successful parenting, and try to avoid being overly critical or harsh." Every little one deserves an emotional safe space.
"As a fixed air sign, you derive strength from your intellect and enjoy exploring ideas that benefit others," Witte shares. You're an innovative, quirky spirit, and you'll hold space for your little one to be unique and true to their individualistic spark.
"As a parent, you often find creative solutions to family challenges or share fun brain teasers. You excel at breaking down complex concepts, but be careful not to get lost in your thoughts and become distant. You are at your best when you balance your body, heart, and mind."
"As a Pisces, like the two fish that represent your sign, you are adaptable and ready to flow with any current," Witte explains about Pisces parents. This intuitive water sign makes for a nurturing parent, with lots of love, affection, and tenderness to give.
"Known for your creativity and compassion, you often experience a range of emotions. As a parent, you inspire those around you and warmly welcome others into your life. However, it's essential to set boundaries to avoid becoming distracted or losing your sense of self."

Daily Horoscope for June 13, 2025
General Daily Insight for June 13, 2025 We may need a little bit of extra effort to find a way through the day. The Moon is marching through competent Capricorn, inspiring us to be our most productive and capable selves. While here, the Moon will quincunx the Sun in Mercurial Gemini at 6:09 pm EDT. This awkward angle stirs up an unusual energy — not necessarily bad, just unfamiliar. We can succeed by handling whatever's going on with grace. The situation may be atypical, but it's not impossible. Aries March 21 – April 19 Make your words mean something, or you might regret it. A curious angle between the Moon in your enterprising 10th house and the Sun in your garrulous 3rd house is asking you to think carefully about how you present yourself to the world. If you're careful and considerate in your speech, then it could work very much in your favor. Conversely, if you're flippant and don't think before you speak, it could definitely come back to bite you down the line. Taurus April 20 – May 20 Going on an adventure is one thing, paying for it is quite another. Be wary of the cosmic dissonance happening as the Moon in your 9th House of Outreach and the Sun in your 2nd House of Tangibility stumble over each other, forcing you to get serious about the material requirements necessary to go off on any flights of fancy. It may not sound very fun, but you'll be able to go much further when you know how you're going to afford it all. Gemini May 21 – June 20 The mood is shifting from one minute to the next, catching you in an atmospheric game of tug-of-war. The Moon is in your concentrated 8th House, pulling your attention to all the serious aspects of life, but that's hampered by the clumsy discussion happening between Luna and the Sun in your energetic sign, tempting you in the opposite direction. Instead of aiming for total balance, give yourself time to focus on one aspect, and then the other. Everything will happen when needed. Cancer June 21 – July 22 Other people may have a clearer vision than you yourself at the moment. The Moon in your connected 7th house is focusing your energy on your most important relationships, but her odd angle to the Sun in your 12th House of the Subconscious could make it difficult for you to tell what people expect of you. Instead of striving to control the situation, take a backseat approach and let others approach you on their terms. Then, you can decide what to make of it all. Leo July 23 – August 22 There is a dichotomy between work and play today. You may have every reason to roll up your sleeves and put your nose to the grindstone while the Moon is in your dedicated 6th house, but Luna's needy nudge at the Sun in your affable 11th house might not let you. Everyone could abruptly start clamoring for your attention! This can be a major distraction, but it can also be a pleasant one. Make an effort to check off your chores, then go socialize. Virgo August 23 – September 22 You can both be productive and have a pleasurable day if you try. The carefree Moon is dancing through your laughter-loving 5th house, so you probably aren't in the mood to deal with anything too serious for the time being. Well, you may need to lock into a professional mindset when the Moon pokes the Sun in your zealous 10th house, but that doesn't mean you need to suddenly drop all the fun at hand. Share the joy by bringing it with you to work! Libra September 23 – October 22 You can stick close to home without shutting out everything else. It is perfectly natural if you want to remain close to your foundations while the Moon is in your cozy 4th house. That said, as Luna aligns with the Sun in your adrenaline-hunting 9th house, you could at least open a few windows to let life in! You don't need to blast off toward unmapped planets when you can bring the world to you by simply hanging up unique artwork or cooking something unfamiliar. Scorpio October 23 – November 21 Today offers up light-hearted banter and extreme conversations all at once. There is an unusual angle between the Moon in your hyperactive 3rd house and the Sun in your secretive 8th house. This could make one moment feel like a sitcom and the next like a perilous detective novel! Be careful to avoid getting caught up in foolish gossip, messy drama, or potential miscommunication. Don't go stirring the pot when you're at risk of winding up in hot water yourself. Sagittarius November 22 – December 21 You are allowed to be all about your bottom dollar at present. The Moon is in your 2nd House of Values, so you want to make sure you are spending your time on things that matter. On top of that, Luna's quincunx with the Sun in your cooperative 7th house is encouraging you to work together rather than fly solo. Make a point of avoiding distracting bells and whistles as you double up with people you know will bring their A game. Capricorn December 22 – January 19 Be present in everything you do today. That shouldn't be too hard with the intuitive Moon in your persevering sign, making it the perfect time for you to look inward. However, Luna's quincunx to the willful Sun in your 6th House of Analytics will put a premium on being your most effective and efficient self. Rather than being a slog, you could find this productivity extremely rewarding, whether you're at work, home, or anywhere else. Don't phone it in, but remember to take breaks. Aquarius January 20 – February 18 Life can be most enjoyable when you don't push. You've got the metaphorical day off while the Moon is in your contemplative 12th house, showing you everything through rose-colored glasses. That easy-going energy will only increase when the Moon aligns with the Sun in your artistic 5th house, promising you that the way forward ought to be a joyous one. Don't try to control the fun too rigidly, because the stars likely have something good in store. See what the planets have to offer! Pisces February 19 – March 20 Letting people in — literally or emotionally — can have extra benefits at this time. The meeting between Luna in your communal 11th house and the Sun in your familial 4th house is probably putting you in quite a social mood, although you may not want to get off the couch to make it happen. Whether you want to have a heart-to-heart with a few close friends or call up the whole gang, at least consider inviting people to come over and warm your space.

Netflix Star Fends Off Thief in 'Epic' Security Footage originally appeared on Parade. 27-year-old Netflix star Genevieve Chenneour left fans thoroughly impressed after footage of her "epic" moment of self-defense against a thief went viral online. The actress, known for her work as Miss Clara Livingston on Bridgerton, was standing with a friend in a Joe & the Juice located in West London back on Feb. 8 when the miscreant, who was identified by The Daily Mail as 18-year-old Zacariah Boulares, crept up behind her and casually slid her cell phone off of the counter next to her. She noticed immediately, jumping into action with her friend to retrieve her property, beating him down to the ground with the device once it was back in her possession. "They didn't expect me to stand up for myself – but I did," the actress told the publication. The Daily Mail obtained security footage from the shop, uploading the moment fit for an action film to TikTok yesterday, June 10, and fans "loved to see" the actress' "iconic" response. Belle-A Spills the 'Love Island: USA' Spark She Wishes She Didn't Ignore
Belle-A Spills the 'Love Island: USA' Spark She Wishes She Didn't Ignore originally appeared on Parade. Fans were shocked when the beautiful Belle-A Walker was dumped from the Love Island: USA villa — becoming the first islander to be eliminated from season 7 of the show — but now, the Oregon-turned-Hawaii resident has the freedom to spill some major tea. For those who need a refresher, the 22-year-old barista and model was a part of the OG cast of Love Island: USA season 7. Belle-A made waves on social media due to her extremely high morals, refusing to lock lips with any men until later on in the competition, but unfortunately, this might have hindered her connections, leading to her untimely exit. Coupling up with Nic Vansteenberghe on day one, Belle-A found herself in a love triangle by day two, when Cierra Ortega entered the villa with her sights set on the same man. At the re-coupling ceremony on day six — where the men had the power — Nic was left with an extremely difficult decision, ultimately deciding to couple up with Cierra over Belle-A. Because of this, Belle-A was dumped from the Love Island: USA villa, and she is left with some serious regrets. Her biggest regret, though (believe it or not) was not exploring a connection with Taylor Williams, spilling the tea in a recent interview with Access Hollywood. In a TikTok video shared by the outlet, Belle-A was asked her biggest regret from her short-lived stint on Love Island: USA, to which she swiftly replied, "not allowing myself to explore things with Taylor." She then proceeded to gush about the cowboy cutie, telling Access Hollywood, "Taylor honestly lights up rooms. He brings such good energy, and a lot of the people don't see that in the cut, but he's always there picking everybody else up. He's always doing his little dancey-dance. I love the energy that he brings." She then explained why a relationship with Taylor never came to fruition, explaining that not only was she "tunnel-visioned on Nic" during her Love Island: USA journey, but she's also "such a girl's girl" who didn't want to hurt Olandria Carthen's — Taylor's current couple's — feelings. With rumors that Belle-A might be returning to Love Island: USA season 7 as a part of the Casa Amor twist — fingers crossed — would she explore her spark with Taylor the second time around? "I was finally feeling comfortable finally letting my guard down, finally finding my voice, and then I was silenced, you know? I think that if I do get the opportunity to go back, I know what it's like. I know how I will approach it, and I don't want to let anybody else shape my experience," she spilled about the situation. Nevertheless, Belle-A concluded, "I don't want anybody else to cloud my judgment or cloud my actions because I would go in full force," adding that she "might" go after Taylor if given another chance. While we anxiously await Belle-A's (alleged) return to the villa, tune into brand new episodes of Love Island: USA season 7 every day — except Wednesday — via Peacock for all the juicy drama.
