Man in court after 14-year-old boy found stabbed
An 18-year-old man has appeared in court after a 14-year-old boy was found with stab wounds at a property in Pontefract.
Police were called to assist the ambulance service at a property in Eastbourne View just after 19:30 BST on Sunday. Two people were arrested at the scene, West Yorkshire Police said.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries not thought to be life-threatening, officers added.
Alfie Clarke, 18, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 24 June.

Drink driving charge after motorhome crash
A man has been charged with drink driving after a motorhome crashed into a bollard at a motorway service station. The driver was reported to be drunk at Wetherby Services on Monday, and drove off in the Fiat Swift campervan after being refused service. North Yorkshire Police said analysis of CCTV tracked down the vehicle on the A61 travelling towards Ripon, where it was stopped. A 32-year-old man from Newcastle has been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit and a number of other offences. Police said the man was also wanted on warrant after failing to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on 16 July last year regarding a serious assault case. He is due to appear before Harrogate Magistrates' Court on 26 June where he is also charged with driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, failing to stop/report a road traffic collision, driving without due care and attention and using a vehicle in a dangerous condition. New home for one of port's last deep-sea trawlers
A new home for one of a port's last surviving deep-sea trawlers is expected to open to visitors next year. The visitor centre at North End Shipyard in Hull, which is part of a major regeneration project, will host Arctic Corsair. With views along the River Hull, the venue will provide a space to explore the area's maritime history and include a learning space for schools. Mike Ross, leader of Hull City Council, said: "This new visitor centre is not only a place to explore Hull's maritime past – it's a vision for the future." Built in 1960, Arctic Corsair was involved in the Cod Wars with Iceland in the 1970s and rammed an Icelandic gunboat during the dispute. The ship, which has been restored, will be the star exhibit at the new maritime museum after it sets sail to the North End Shipyard and is berthed in the dry dock. Visitors to the building, which is funded by the local authority and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, will be able to learn about the life of a trawlerman, with first-hand stories from former crew members. Gillian Osgerby, the council's interim assistant director for major projects and infrastructure, said: "The story shouts about what makes Hull really special." A restored Scotch Derrick crane, which is a survivor of the River Hull shipbuilding that ended in the 1990s, will also return to the site later this year. The council said the new two-storey facility would be one of the most energy-efficient cultural buildings in the UK. Four seriously injured in head-on crash
Three teenagers and a man have been taken to hospital with severe injuries after a head-on collision on a country lane. Bedfordshire Police said the crash happened on Luton Road near Toddington, just after 23:15 BST on Tuesday. A silver Vauxhall Astra travelling towards Luton collided with a silver Kia Rio, close to The Fancott pub. Police said a man in his 20s suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, and one of three teenagers potentially faced life-changing injuries.
