Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb reunite! Fans celebrate the 'true friends' after 11 years on TODAY

Daily Mail15-05-2025

Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford happily reunited at the Santa Monica Post Office on Wednesday for a QVC event - four months after Hoda retired and six years after Kathie retired from their gigs at NBC's TODAY.
The former wine-sipping co-hosts - age 60 and 71 - warmly embraced each other before celebrating the shopping network's Q50 platform and TikTok Shop Super Brand Day while showcasing their back-and-forth banter.
'We're going to be stream-living!' Kathie Lee (born Kathryn Epstein) announced.
'Live streaming,' Hoda corrected.
'No, that too!' Gifford replied.
The I Knew It Would Be You singer and Kotb also cutely broke out into song: 'Reunited and it feels so good!'
The Oklahoma-born daughter of Egyptian Muslims was wearing the $69.99 NYDJ 'Mia Palazzo' full-length striped jeans she procured through QVC as a paid partner.
Paris-born Kathie Lee opted for a sheer top and the $49.99 Nicole by Nicole Miller 'Petite Drawstring Pull-On' khaki pants she procured through QVC as a paid partner.
Gifford returned to TODAY to appear on Hoda's farewell show, which aired on January 10, after 26 years with NBC following her own 11-year run that ended in 2019.
The former Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee co-host wistfully recalled: 'The one thing I had in common with you, and with Regis – two very, very different people – I look forward every single day to being with you both.'
Since Kotb left TODAY, the ratings have reportedly slipped from 2.8M average viewers to 2.5M viewers while her other show with Jenna Bush Hager (renamed Jenna & Friends) has dipped from 1.3M viewers to 1.1M viewers.
In the comments of Kathie Lee's Instagram post, the TODAY show account gushed: 'This just made our WEEK!'
'Today show isn't the same without them,' Instagram user @tennischick4 scoffed.
Instagram user @cookie1132024 agreed: 'The show has never been the same. You two ladies made it the best. I wouldn't miss those shows for the world. I wish you guys were still together. Jen is doing an okay job but nothing like you too. Love you both.'
'Love them together loyal friends,' Instagram user @gabella56 gushed. 'You need your tribe.'

Since retiring, Kathie Lee and Hoda have been focused mainly on spending quality time with their children and, in Gifford's case, grandchildren.
Last week, The Baxters actress was 'thrilled' over her daughter-in-law Erika announcing she and husband Cody were expecting her third child after welcoming sons, Frank, 2; and Ford, 17 months.
Kathie Lee's daughter Cassidy and her husband Ben Wierda are proud parents of 23-month-old son Finn.
Gifford - who broke her pelvis last July while recovering from hip replacement surgery - suffered the loss of her second husband Frank Gifford in 2015.
Meanwhile, Hoda said 'things have stabilized' with the health of her five-year-old daughter Hope since moving to Westchester along with her seven-year-old daughter Haley.
Kotb adopted both girls during her nine-year relationship with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, which ended in 2022.

Last Thursday, the New York Post reported that the two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner is on the 'list of candidates to replace NBC daytime talk show host Kelly Clarkson' next year.
'There's a long list of names and Hoda is part of that list,' an insider said.
'NBC never wanted Hoda to leave. The question is would Hoda want to do it?'

BREAKING NEWS Barack and Michelle Obama put on brave face with daughters amid divorce rumors and name changes

Barack and Michelle Obama are celebrating their youngest daughter as she marks her 24th birthday, despite the swirling rumors about their marriage. Michelle Obama shared a photo to her Instagram of the family seemingly on vacation together and she issued a heartfelt message to Sasha. 'Happy birthday to my sweet girl, Sasha! Can't believe how quickly time has flown. I'm so proud of the woman you've become. Love you always!' Michelle wrote. The Obamas have been married for 32 years but have faced ongoing rumors about their marriage status over the last several months. The couple's eldest daughter Malia has also dropped her famous surname and is now going by Malia Ann professionally. Michelle last month dismissed speculation about marital issues and addressed the rumors head on during an episode of the podcast The Diary of a CEO. 'If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,' she said. Michelle has publicly supported Malia's decision, emphasizing that she wants her daughter to 'carve her own path' and 'make her way'. The rumors were only fueled by Michelle's noticeable absence from several high-profile events this year; including January's presidential inauguration and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter. In March, Michelle also skipped their usual courtside seats at the NBA All-Star Game. The couple were spotted out on a date night in NYC two weeks ago, after having also been seen going out to dinner in DC the month before. Social media and the tabloids have all served to amplify claims that the couple may soon be heading for a split. On a recent podcast Michelle revealed how she is in therapy to help her transition to what she thinks is the 'next phase' of her life. During the episode, Michelle acknowledged that marriage is 'hard' for her and the former president but added that 'I wouldn't trade it,' calling President Obama, 'as the young people say... my person.' 'The beauty of my husband and our partnership is that neither one of us was ever really, ever going to quit at it, because that's not who we are. And I know that about him. He knows that about me.' Michelle has been open about her marriage struggles throughout the years and particularly on her new podcast, IMO (In my Opinion), which she hosts with her brother Craig Robinson.
