Will Ferrell ‘excited' to bring Eurovision musical to Broadway
Will Ferrell has said he is 'excited' to bring a musical version of the Eurovision Song Contest to Broadway. The American actor, 57, is basing the project on his Netflix movie, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga, which he starred in opposite Canadian actress Rachel McAdams and British actor Dan Stevens. 'We are more than excited to bring Eurovision to Broadway,' said Ferrell. 'The stage musical is a perfect place to continue our celebration of all the things we love about this amazing and unifying song competition.' 'Will Ferrell and Harper Steele are my comedy heroes,' Timbers, a Tony award-winning director, said. 'And when I first saw their joyful movie Eurovision during the pandemic, it buoyed spirits during a very dark time. 'With this stage adaptation, I can't wait to bring that same mix of heart, spectacle, irreverence, and awe to audiences across the world.' 'Our aim always is to bring the joy of the Eurovision Song Contest to more people globally – especially as we approach our 70th edition in 2026.' Last month, the 2025 winner of Eurovision was crowned as 24-year-old opera singer JJ from Austria, who entered with the dramatic Wasted Love. Netflix has previously turned its popular science fiction show Stranger Things into a play in the West End called Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which serves as a prequel to the series.

Singer Sabrina Carpenter appears to have taken a savage swipe at her ex Barry Keoghan in her latest single. 'Manchild' is the US star's latest single and the blonde bombshell appears to have written it about the Dubliner, who she split with earlier this year. The 'Espresso' hitmaker, 26, took to Instagram to share a clip of her hitch-hiking in a cheeky pair of denim hot pants to announce the new track, which is out Thursday. Although she didn't name the 'Saltburn' actor, 32, she hinted in the caption: 'this one's about you!! 'Manchild' is out this Thursday 6/5 (sic)". The exes were first linked in late 2023 and made their relationship public at the Met Gala in May 2024, before they split in December 2024. The new song follows Sabrina's 2024 Grammy-winning 'Short n' Sweet' album, which was followed by February's deluxe edition, which featured a duet of 'Please Please Please' with Dolly Parton and a new song called 'Busy Woman'. Meanwhile, the pint-sized pop star is being lined up to star in 'Mamma Mia! 3'. The 'Taste' hitmaker is wanted by producer Judy Craymer to star in the third movie based on the ABBA musical of the same name in a role connected to the late Donna Sheridan–Carmichael (Meryl Streep).
