THE WORLD Snooker Championship is rolling on at some pace at The Crucible!
Former world champ Luca Brecel has officially fought back to overcome Welshman Ryan Day.
Ronnie O'Sullivan was in INCREDIBLE form as he battered rival Ali Carter to reach the second round, where he will face off with Pang Junxu.
The Rocket entered the session with a 5-4 lead and then reeled off three centuries to win five consecutive frames and set up a meeting with Pang Junxu in his first snooker tournament in three months.
And World No 1 Judd Trump made easy work of Zhou Yuelong in his tournament opener as he bids to become only the 10th multiple champion of the Crucible era.

The Crucible curse
The Crucible curse is the quip given to the fact that no first-time world champion has ever retained their crown the following year.
Since the tournament moved to the Crucible in 1977 it has cursed 19 players in a row with every debut champion crumbling under the pressure of snooker 's grandest stage.
Some have come close though - Joe Johnson and Ken Doherty both made it to the final the year after their maiden victories - but most don't get anywhere near that far.
As recently as 2023, Luca Brecel was doomed by the curse, losing in the first round of the 2024 tournament after winning the title the year before.
Brecel is not on his own though - seven champions have gone on to lose their first match the following year.
Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Selby have all managed to win consecutive titles at the Crucible, but they had won the championship previously.
Wilson returns to South Yorkshire as the reigning champion and is determined to lift the curse and posted a hilarious video to social media in an effort to exorcise the demons.
In the video, Wilson jokingly completed some of the superstitions people believe to bring us bad luck, including smashing a mirror and holding his World Championship trophy next to a black cat.

The Kettering superstar beat Jak Jones 18-14 despite a spirited comeback from the qualifier.
And he'll be hoping to break the Crucible curse this year.

The American football player re-signed with the Jags ahead of the 2025/2026 season following a first full season in the top flight of the sport. The NFL franchise are playing in London again during the regular season, alongside the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns. Ahead of their big return to the English capital, the Welshman has travelled back across the pond to promote the event. And it has also been announced he has signed a new deal with a talent management agency. In a collaborative Instagram post, the brand specialists, Marvellous Club, revealed Rees-Zammit had signed with them, marking the beginning of their expansion into the United States. Content cannot be displayed without consent At the end of May, Jaguars revealed their pre-season schedule, with Rees-Zammit finding out where he may get a chance to play in another live game. Despite spending a season as part of the 17-player practice squad, the Welshman was not elevated to the main roster to play in a proper game. However, his first season was more of a learning phase. Therefore, his last real game was in pre-season last year while at the Kansas City Chiefs, so it'll be around one year since he last played a match. Jaguars found out they'll be taking on three teams in August this year, with Rees-Zammit highly likely to be involved in at least one of those. Aaron Wildig: I've got plenty more to give at Gloucester
The former Exiles skipper has joined forces with Dafydd Williams, who left Rodney Parade at the end of last season to become boss at Gloucester. Wildig opted to step away from full-time football in the EFL to drop down to Southern League Premier Division South, with the 33-year-old from Hereford also starting to look towards coaching. The midfielder completed his UEFA A licence with the Football Association of Wales this year and was an assistant for caretaker boss Williams in the final two games of last season following the departure of Nelson Jardim. County acknowledged his value off the field when offering him fresh terms while he is on the comeback trail from ruptured knee ligaments. However, a call from Williams convinced Wildig that the time was right to drop out of the Football League and head for Gloucester. 'I was offered a deal by Newport, which was really respectful of them, but having worked with Daf for the last two years, he dropped me a message and asked if it was something that I would be interested in,' said Wildig, who started his professional career with Cardiff in 2009. 'With a few things going on outside of football, it was something that I fancied coming to have a crack at and I am looking forward to it.' 'I am quite passionate about my coaching and in the last few years I have started to look into that side of things,' he said. Williams has no doubt that Wildig's quality will show in the Southern League, pointing to the flying start the midfielder made to last season before injury. 'To have someone of that experience and calibre represent this club is a huge statement,' said the Welshman, who spent two seasons at Rodney Parade. 'Last year he was stat the best midfielder in League Two until his injury so make no mistake, we have a great player on hour hands. 'Him coming in as player-coach offers his experience, credentials and skill set as a coach, which is something he is keen on further down the line. To provide him with that opportunity is exciting.'
