‘Tough love': Brutal truth about Candice Warner's marriage with David Warner
Candice Warner has opened up about her decade-long marriage to cricketer David Warner, saying what they have been through as a couple has 'made us even stronger'.
In a new interview with the Stellar podcast, Something To Talk About, Candice, 40, said she was 'incredibly proud of where we're at in life, where our kids are at and the parents
that we've become'.
'Our relationship is very strong, but it always has been. Certain situations that we have overcome together have made us even stronger,' she told Something To Talk About.
'We look at our kids and we see them as our biggest achievements,' she added speaking about the couple's three daughters, Ivy, 10, Indi, 9, and Isla, 5.
'We're really proud of how far we've come and that we just didn't give up along the way.'
In the interview with Stellar, Candice explained her and David's decision to launch and manage an Instagram account for their girls (via @thewarner.sisters) at a time when children's relationship with social media is such a hot button issue.
Amassing almost 200,000 followers already, she also reveals how the couple are navigating the harms of social media with their daughters in the digital age … and how they're building resilience in them.
Listen to a new episode of Something To Talk About featuring Candice Warner below:
'I don't care what people say about me, about my husband, about us as a family, because
it's their opinion. It's not fact. They don't know us,' Candice told Something To Talk About.
'I'm not here to defend their page. And, I truly believe what [Prime Minister] Anthony Albanese is doing is the right thing to protect young adults from something that can be very dangerous.'
'But we also have an obligation as a parent, most parents have social media, to teach our kids how to use it in a positive way.
'It's wonderful if we know how to use it correctly and if we can empower people or we
can educate people or we could make people smile or laugh.'
Candice said she had prepared herself to hear unsolicited opinions about their decision to launch their Instagram.
Listen to a new episode of Something To Talk About featuring Candice Warner below:
'The best way to teach resilience is to not wrap your kids in cotton wool.
'A bit of tough love. How can you teach resilience if they've never failed? How can you tell your kids to get back up when they've never fallen?
'We love our kids and we support them but we also need to let them learn for themselves sometimes.'

Calum Hood assures fans 5SOS is ‘thriving' as he releases solo record
Calum Hood has 'emphatically' reassured fans of global chart-toppers 5 Seconds of Summer the band is not splitting up. The bassist is the fourth member of the Aussie stream kings to unveil a solo project with his debut album CHAOS order CHAOS released this week. Back home in Sydney for the big reveal, Hood said he understood fans and music industry commentators assumed the raft of solo releases from himself, Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford signalled the end of the pop rockers after 15 years. It is incredibly rare for several members of any act to pursue solo careers while their band was still active with The Beatles, Rolling Stones, KISS and Fleetwood Mac among those who flexed their solo muscles as the group continued. 'Emphatically, 5SOS is not over and actually, quite thriving,' Hood said. 'This might be a bit weird to people but we revel in doing things people think we shouldn't do.' Hood said the solo efforts of his bandmates had given him a 'good blueprint for how to do it'. Clifford released his debut solo single Cool in April ahead of the release of his album Sidequest next month while both Hemmings and Irwin have dropped two records each since 2020. It took Hood more than two years to craft the atmospheric, synth-heavy sound for the songs for CHAOS order CHAOS as he battled the inherent anxiety artists suffer when they start a new project. 'You know me, I'm an anxious boy anyway, but I never had that with the band; I was never anxious about releasing 5SOS songs,' he said. His solo songs are mostly of the sad boy variety, dealing heartbreak and the tyranny of distance playing havoc on relationships with family and friends when you are always on the road. One track Dark Circles explores the 'fantasy' of what life would be like if 5SOS didn't exist. 'Obviously it's a question that's coming up a lot with all these solo things happening. Is the band OK?' Hood said. 'The answer is the band is great, but (for that song) it was on my mind that if shit hit the fan, it would be devastating for me. I've spent half my life in the band, it has shaped who I am.' The band's bassist said fans have been shocked by one particular aspect of his solo project as he has travelled the world recently to promote the record. 'There's a big joke amongst the fans that 'Oh, he's actually talking,' which is really funny,' Hood said. 'In the band, I guess I'm the more reserved one but I actually have a f … ing lot to say!' While he has played some acoustic gigs to launch the project, Hood has no plans to go on a world tour, hinting that he is required to get back to his full-time gig with 5SOS. 'It was such a big deal for me just to release this music. When there is another record, if there's space and the time allows and it feels good, then we will see what happens about touring.'

Sting's $4m treehouse escape on the market
A spectacular holiday home that hosted 80s rock icon Sting has hit the market. The Gold Coast property was formerly owned by local film industry veterans, Michael and Sally Tolerton, and became a celebrity favourite for its treehouse appeal and private location with stunning ocean views. Last sold for $4.025m in 2022, the unique home at 23 Katta Ave, Currumbin is for sale via an expressions of interest campaign with Elk Realty and Capital agent Lisa Papadopoulos. The elevated property comprises two self-contained homes over four levels, with a total of seven bedrooms and four bathrooms across a 567 sqm parcel surrounded by nature reserve. It held the title of Currumbin's most popular holiday rental through online platform Stayz for 15 years, and was described by English musician and activist Sting as 'peaceful, beautiful and inspiring', according to listings. Meanwhile, a French actor who stayed during a 'difficult' local film production left a poetic note in the property's guest book: 'even in hell you can sometimes find heaven'. Ms Papadopoulos' listing said Katta on Currumbin was 'a home beyond compare'. 'This is one of the most tightly held locations on the Gold Coast. 'From the moment you arrive, you'll feel it. 'The air is different here – clean, crisp, alive with the scent of the ocean and rainforest.' 'Perfect recipe' for Gold Coast property boom Designed by architect Shane Denman, the house was completed in 2004 and features soaring ceilings and walls of glass providing a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces to maximise views. 'Katta on Currumbin offers one of the most spectacular coastal views in Australia – uninterrupted from Currumbin Estuary to Palm Beach, Surfers Paradise, and beyond to Stradbroke Island.' The fourth floor is accessed from street level and features an open-plan living and dining area leading out to a large balcony, along with a designer kitchen and butler's pantry, plus a front retreat space with a study nook and garden courtyard. Three bedrooms are on the level below, with the two lower levels together offering flexibility for dual living or rental with a separate entry and second full kitchen and laundry. The second residence was leased at more than $1000 a night during peak seasons by previous owners, the Tolertons. The couple had worked in the film industry for 40 years as an art director and makeup artist and said Hollywood stars, directors and producers would often visit their home. Currumbin house prices were up 9 per cent over the past 12 months to a median of $1.69m, according to PropTrack. Sting has visited Australia several times over the decades, both as a solo performer and as the lead singer of the Police before the band split in the late 1980s. Now aged 73, he most recently brought his My Songs tour here in 2023.

Madrid-born Pataky said she had long ago decided she wanted to live on a farm, surrounded by nature. 'Living in Madrid is complicated when you've already lived in the countryside, in the middle of nature, it's hard,' she said. And Los Angeles was too restricting. MORE: Wild reason Aussie has 300 homes 'When you're in Los Angeles, work suffocates you,' Pataky said.
