However, Lewis Hamilton's old team-mate has been linked with reclaiming a spot on the grid when the paddock expands to accommodate Cadillac as the 11th F1 team for 2026.
And to that end, Bottas has left fans thinking an announcement over his future is imminent after he appeared to tease a partnership with the US luxury car manufacturer.
Taking to social media, Bottas first shared a pair of snaps of himself at a pool table wearing a cowboy-style hat at Silver City Aspen in Colorado.
But it was his second post which really got fans talking.

While out on a stroll, Bottas' cameraman, Paul Ripke, pointed out a car ahead of them, before highlighting it was a Cadillac.
Having opened the door of the car, Ripke remarks: "That's a nice seat."
The 35-year-old then goes and touches the seat, saying: "Oh wow, that's actually a nice seat."
After a moment of looking inside the car, Ripke notes: "And there's two seats."

American manufacturer Cadillac are joining the F1 2026 grid in partnership with General Motors.
Bottas is one of the favourites to land one of the two new seats which will be up for grabs at the team next season, and would represent a wealth of experience with 246 race starts to his name, including 10 wins and 19 poles.
And taking to the comments of Bottas' post, fans now believe an announcement could be coming soon, with one saying: "A code?"
A second said: "Are you saying what I think you're saying, without saying it?"
A third added: "That means what I think that means?"
Another said: "Please lord, I don't ask for much!"
A fifth said: "Yeah he's back for 26 isn't he lol."
Bottas is, of course, known to be very cheeky with his social media activity, so the tease should be taken with a pinch of salt for the time being.
Besides, he is facing stiff competition from the likes of Sergio Perez, who was axed by Red Bull in 2024.
Motorsport icon and ex-F1 world champion Mario Andretti - one of the directors of the new team - has already confirmed the team were looking at the Mexican driver to take one of the seats.
Speaking to Fox Sports in May, he said: "All I can tell you is that he's [Perez] certainly one of the drivers that's being considered. He has to be.
"I cannot divulge as to where we are with any commitment whatsoever — I think we want to keep that luxury to ourselves until we feel that we have scanned the entire spectrum of availability. I think that's a prudent thing to do."
Other drivers who have been linked include Mick Schumacher, Zhou Guanyu, Alex Palou, and Colton Herta.
The next F1 race will commence in Austria next weekend off the back of a double Mercedes podium in Canada, which saw George Russell take the win ahead of Max Verstappen and rookie team-mate Kimi Antonelli.

Gareth Bale and his wife Emma Rhys-Jones enjoy a glam date night as they attend the European premiere of F1: The Movie in London
Gareth Bale and his wife Emma Rhys-Jones looked chic in black as they attended the European premiere of F1: The Movie in London on Monday. The footballer, 33, looked handsome in a black two-piece suit which he layered with a crisp white shirt. The Welshman, who recently announced his retirement from professional football, looked in happy spirits as he appeared on the red carpet alongside his stunning wife. Emma sent pulses racing as she stepped out in a plunging black lace floor-length dress which pooled on to the floor. Her stunning garment was finished with a choker design around the neck and a sheer skirt. To accessorise, the brunette beauty finished her look with a black leather clutch and chunky gold hoops. F1: The Movie was made in collaboration with Formula One's governing body, the FIA, and one of the producers is seven-times world champion Lewis Hamilton. Brad Pitt plays the lead role of troubled race car driver Sonny Hayes in the new release. His character is pitted against rookie and rival Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) as they battle it out at various Grand Prix's around the world. While the reviews for F1: The Movie aren't quite all in yet, social media reactions from several critics began flooding in on X this week. Many praised Brad and Damson's onscreen chemistry, as well the movie's overall look thanks to director Joseph Kosinski, who last worked on Top Gun: Maverick. With some even branding F1 the 'Top Gun for racing fans' - three years after the Tom Cruise aviator movie made an eye-popping $1.496 billion worldwide. Other stars in attendance for the premiere included singer Raye, who embraced summer with a figure-hugging floral dress that featured a plunging neckline. Shape Of You singer Ed Sheeran also turned out, wearing a cool white T-shirt and lilac suit combo. Brad Pitt and Damson Idris are both dynamic. This is top gun for F1 racing fans. Truly a racing movie for a new generation'. While Rotten Tomatoes' Erik David wrote: 'Joseph Kosinski's #F1TheMovie hits the gas and doesn't stop. The races are epic, the sound design, editing, cinematography, performances and music are all top notch'.

John Textor considers buying Championship crisis club after Crystal Palace sale
John Textor has sold his stake in Crystal Palace but the American might not be out of English football for very long and already has his eyes on a potential club to invest in John Textor is eyeing a takeover of Championship crisis club Sheffield Wednesday after departing Crystal Palace. The American has sold his 43% stake in the Premier League side after striking a £190m deal with New York Jets owner Woody Johnson. A statement from the Eagles read: 'Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that Robert Wood Johnson, 'Woody', an American businessman and co-owner of the New York Jets, has signed a legally binding contract to purchase Eagle Football's holding in the Club. 'Whilst the completion is pending approval from the Premier League and Women's Super League, we do not envisage any issues and look forward to welcoming Woody as a partner and director of the club. We would like to go on record to thank John Textor for his contribution over the past four years and wish him every success for the future.' But it appears that Textor is in no mood to be out of English football for very long at all. According to The Sheffield Star, he is interested in buying Championship side Sheffield Wednesday from their much-maligned current owner Dejphon Chansiri. Textor is reportedly looking for an immediate re-investment into football, with the Championship considered his most likely route. Wednesday are one of a number of clubs being considered for a takeover. A number of parties are interested in the Hillsborough outfit but Textor's wealth could potentially blow competition out of the water. A deal might be difficult to thrash out with Chansiri given his reluctance to sell Wednesday so far. The Thai businessman has endured a woeful spell at the helm. The Owls suffered relegation to League One in 2021, with points deductions and transfer embargoes becoming a theme of his time in charge. Some wages for May are yet to be paid, with players eligible to leave for nothing should they not receive their June pay packets on time. Meanwhile, Textor has underlined his desire to potentially buy a second-tier club. Who will win promotion from the Championship this season? Share your predictions in the comments below Upon leaving Palace, he said to The Athletic: 'We're turnaround guys, we like a construction project. There's nothing more exciting for me than the idea of buying a second division team and getting promoted. 'But we might also look in the Premier League if we think there's a real opportunity to catapult a team from mid-table to upper-table, we think we're capable of doing that. Our strategy for Palace was to get to the Europa League every year, not just off of a cup win every hundred years.'
