Carrie Bickmore reveals she's heading into the South African jungle after persistent rumours she will appear on I'm A Celebrity
Carrie Bickmore has long been rumoured to be joining popular Channel 10 show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.
And now, the radio and television presenter, 44, has confirmed she will be heading to the South African jungle - but not for the reality program.
The Carrie & Tommy radio star has signed up for a half marathon at this year's The Big Five Marathon through the Entabeni private game reserve.
She told Confidential on Thursday, the big five African animals 'will make me run fast, that is for sure'.
'Last year they had to delay the start of the race because there was a lion roaming around. I've decided not to read up too much about it because I've decided if I read about it, I won't go,' she said.
'I'm just going to go there with my eyes closed and open them at the startline and see what happens.'
The former Project star will be completing her half-marathon alongside Ellidy Pullin, Olivia Molly Rogers, Sam Wood, Laura Enever, Trent Cotchin, and Merrick Watts.
Carrie and her crew of famous friends will attempt to raise money for the Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Foundation, which she set up after her late husband, Greg Lange, lost his battle with brain cancer.
Carrie announced she would continue Greg's legacy with the charity during her Gold Logie acceptance speech in 2015.
Despite his terminal condition, Carrie and Greg married in 2005 when she was just 25 and had a son, Oliver.
All runners will be monitored by helicopters and armed rangers to ensure their safety in the game park.
Last month, Carrie gave her social media followers a sneak peak into her training regime for the half-marathon.
The Adelaide-born star lifted weights in each hand as she showed her commitment to building strength.
She also took fans through a series of squat positions in the social media footage.

Carrie cryptically hinted at something 'big' in the pipeline in her caption.
'Time to get strong for this next big adventure,' she wrote.
'Don't laugh at how small my weights are. I have no upper body strength.'
Last year, Carrie completed a half marathon at the Great Wall of China which involved climbing 5164 stairs and competing alongside 2500 runners from over 60 nations.

I'm the Machine Gun Preacher who Gerard Butler played in film – here's how I survived ISIS and 10 assassination attempts
A HOLLYWOOD star who gave up being a drug dealing bikie is now fighting ISIS through the dripping jungles of central Africa. The Machine Gun Preacher is on a mission to rescue child sex slaves on the continent - and is has come up against the notorious terror group. 11 11 The priest, real name Sam Childers, is battling ISIS in the Congo as he continues his holy war to save abused children. He's famously known as being the inspiration behind the movie Machine Gun Preacher. The film starred an A-list cast of Gerard Butler as Childers, Michelle Monaghan as his wife, and Michael Shannon. Machine Gun Preacher told the story of how Childers came to be fighting in Africa after growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Once a criminal, he found God, turned his life to charity work in Africa and dedicated himself to saving children. Machine Gun Preacher - the film - showed him battling Joseph Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army in 1997. Now he's released a self-made documentary - trying to raise money to take the fight to ISIS in Congo. He said: "I'm not worried about dying. I'm 62 years old. The last thing I worry about is dying. I worry more about living than dying." After being hammered in the Middle East, ISIS turned to Africa and is now enslaving thousands of children as its militants rampage through impoverished areas. Childers has a network of orphanages, schools, and farms set up across the centre of the continent. I fought ISIS in Syria & I know bloodthirsty thugs are plotting comeback after fall of Assad - Europe must be ready, says Brit fighter But he's come into combat with ISIS as they have expanded into Congo. He said: "We don't want to see our children be kidnapped, sold in prostitution. "We don't want to see none of that so I'm willing to do whatever I have to do... and I'm willing to answer for it. "They are murderers. They're killers. 11 11 11 "I'm not afraid of none of them." Some 5.4million people have been killed in Congo's ongoing conflicts since 1998 - but the wars have gone largely ignored in the West. Three children were beheaded by rebel fighters in February and dozens more killed when they took a village. Childers' belief in God has given the preacher the strength to keep fighting - even against militant Christian groups. The Lord's Resistance Army raped and abducted girls, mutilated them, and enslaved boys into being child soldiers. He said: "I've been ambushed over 10 times. Been in over 10 major battles. They tried to assassinate me over 10 times. "That's just in the Kony War." Despite the gun battles, Childers says that he was in more danger while a bikie and drug dealer in America. 11 11 He said: "I fought in guerrilla warfare, or been in war over 25 years, and I never was shot in Africa. "I was shot once and stabbed 3 times in America." Childers said the soldiering was a means to an end - supporting the good work his organisations do through orphanages and farms. "What you got to realize those rescues and to be active in stuff like that costs a lot of money. "I have a lot of children and orphanages and children's homes that got to be taken care of." Now, he runs a private military company in Congo that works with local forces to try and save children. Childers said many of the children he rescued were severely mentally damaged by their time spent in captivity. He said: "They cannot be kept in a normal orphanage with other children until after one year. "That's if the people believe they're doing well. That's doing the mental evaluations." 11 11 11 But Childers revealed that he preferred to work with children rather than adults, saying they could work through the mental challenges they faced from being victims of rape or violence. But it's not just ISIS that his charities are fighting, with disease and hunger also continuing to kill children. Childers said: "So then we feed over 10,000 meals a day. The majority of the children we feed only eat one meal a day, and that's the meal we're feeding them." Now, the preacher has released a new film trying to raise money for his work. "Our goal is to do a hundred 1,000 downloads by the end of this year and that money's used for children, man, you know. And so, instead of telling everyone, hey, send me $20. "We're asking everyone. Look, you want to hear a good story. You want to hear a good story of redemption. You want to hear a good story of saving people's lives. You want to hear a good story of giving all." Becoming the Machine Gun Preacher Childers was born into a difficult household with a heroin addict mum and drunkard dad. They were always Christians, but in his teens Childers got in with the wrong crowd, he said. "I started doing what they were doing to fit in, smoking cigarettes, smoking marijuana. "12 years old: drinking, eating pills. "13, 14 years old: snorting cocaine. "Then, at 15 years old, I woke up one morning, and here I got a heroin addiction. You know, I'm shooting up cocaine, shooting up heroin." Childers quit school and said he turned himself into one of the biggest drug dealers in Grand Rapids, running narcotics from all over the US. He said: "The only good thing was my dad brought me and my brothers up to be hardworking people. "I always held a job, even though I was a cocaine addict heroin addict. "But I made a lot of money selling drugs." Childers said he always believed in God, but "I thought I had everything I needed. "I had money. I had drugs, guns, women motorcycles." But then in his early 20s, Childers got into a bar fight that was so awful it changed the course of his life. "There were big guys, tough guys laying on the floor crying, holding their guts in. And I said that night, if I get out of here, I'm I'm done living this life." His charity work has seen Childers honoured with the Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice in 2013. What's happening in Congo? ISIS has extended its bloody grip in Africa to the Congo in recent years. The terror thugs are taking advantage of high levels of poverty and an already destabalised nation. ISIS formally announced its arrival in the country - which it calls the Central Africa Province - in 2019. It claimed another rebel group - the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) - as its affiliate in the Congo and neighbouring Uganda. The ADF, originally a Ugandan Islamist rebel group formed in the 1990s and had already established a stronghold in eastern Congo's North Kivu and Ituri provinces. The ADF rebranded to ISIS and adopted its jihadist rhetoric and tactics. The group began releasing propaganda via ISIS's media channels, portraying its local attacks—mainly against civilians, Congolese soldiers, and UN peacekeepers—as part of the global jihad. Hundreds of civilians have been killed in brutal raids, massacres, and bombings by the terror group. The Congolese army has launched several offensives to knock out ISIS - but has struggled to fully eliminate them.

Noughties playboy who dated a string of Page 3 models including Katie Price and Rhian Sugden and even married Jodie Marsh is unrecognisable now - and leading a VERY different life
Noughties model heartthrob and ex playboy Matt Peacock now looks completely unrecognisable after his brief brushes with fame - and is leading a very different life. Matt, 42, - who is most famous for his relationships with Katie Price and Jodie Marsh - is still a successful model and posts many of his campaigns to his Instagram page. And after failed romances with the likes of former glamour model Katie, Rhian Sugden and ex wife Jodie, he is now happily married to wife Rachael, who he wed in 2016. The pair welcomed a daughter called Lily in 2018. Now he looks wildly different from his noughties lothario character - having ditched his dyed blonde locks and opting for a clean cut brunette look. Settled down with a family he appears to live a wholesome life in the countryside near his native Manchester which is a far cry from his old playboy lifestyle. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Having a clear love for fitness he often snaps shirtless pictures from the gym, while also sharing sweet snaps and videos of his daughter and two dogs. Matt and his wife are still mixing in celebrity circles as he is close with former Corrie star Ryan Thomas having shared snaps from his 40th birthday last June. One snap showed Matt, his wife, Ryan and Ryan's fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh all posing together. Matt, originally from Manchester began his career as a model. He was on the books of agency Boss Model Management and starred in several high-profile campaigns. Matt is now signed to agency Model Team. Just a few months after she welcomed her first son Harvey with ex Dwight Yorke in 2002, Katie Price managed to find another boyfriend in male model Matt. The then 24-year-old star met 18-year-old tanning salon assistant Matt at a car show where she was modelling. During their short romance, the couple holidayed together in Ayia Napa and did a joint interview for a glossy magazine. At the time, Katie described him as 'my rock' as she came to terms with Harvey's health problems and was treated for Leiomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer on her finger. He now lives a peaceful life in the countryside Matt and his wife are still mixing in celebrity circles as he is close with former Corrie star Ryan Thomas having shared snaps from his 40th birthday last June But the couple split after just two months together after a big argument, with friends of Matt claiming at the time he struggled to deal with the media attention. Soon after Katie began to date Peter Andre - with the pair marrying in 2005. Katie was in a relationship when she met Peter. She was dating Scott Sullivan when she went on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. It was during that show that she and Peter Andre fell in love and eventually married. Matt then went on to date Katie's then rival Jodie. The pair ended up marrying on reality TV show Totally Jodie Marsh: Who'll Take Jodie Marsh Up The Aisle? in 2007. They wed in the Sugar Hut nightclub in Brentwood, Essex - which appears on show The Only Way Is Essex - but split three months later. The breakdown of their relationship the following year led Matt to say that she only liked him because of his 2002 fling with Katie. 'I think the fact that I'd been out with [Katie] must have done it for Jodie,' he said at the time. 'She's obsessed with her.' He added of the split: 'I want all my clothes that I left there. I don't know what she's doing with them, whether she's sniffing them or whatever.' After splitting from Jodie, Matt started going out with the stunning Rhian Sugden. They dated for around a year before splitting. Glamour model and former Page Three girl Rhian was then thrust further into the spotlight for a texting affair she had with TV personality Vernon Kay in 2010 while he was married to Tess Daly. Back in 2020 Matt opened up about why losing his hair made him think he'd also lose his modelling career. He spent years successfully being the face of leading brands including Land Rover, Gigs Eyewear and wine firm Laithwaites. But he was left worrying about his hair loss so opted to have a hair transplant. He told The Manchester Evening News at the time: 'Losing my hair had been knocking my confidence for a few years and it was really affecting my day-to-day life. 'I felt so much pressure to look good and keep the modelling jobs coming in to pay my bills and keep a roof over my family's head. 'Social media can be a big problem too, with such an expectation of perfection. We live in such an image-obsessed world.'

‘Bowling the best I have': Josh Hazlewood stakes claim for WTC final spot
Buoyed by an outstanding IPL, Australia quick Josh Hazlewood feels he is bowling better than at any point in his decorated career. Struck down by niggling injuries in recent years, Hazlewood could be forgiven for starting to taper having already taken 279 wickets from 72 Tests. But the fit-again 34-year-old is going to give selectors significant headaches when picking the XI for the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord's, starting on Wednesday. It is an identical dilemma to two years ago when Scott Boland was chosen ahead of Hazlewood, who had been recovering from side issues, for the ultimately successful decider against India. 'I was quite close last time, I just had more of an interrupted IPL leading into that and wasn't quite up to scratch,' Hazlewood said at Australia's training base in Beckenham. 'But I feel in much better place this time around, and I think in any format, my numbers over the last two years have been pretty good, so I've got a lot to fall back on. 'Skill wise, I still feel like I'm bowling the best I have in my career and it's just a matter of the body holding up, which it has been in the last few months.' Hazlewood managed just two Tests last summer, breaking down at the Gabba with a calf injury, as Australia won back the Border-Gavaskar trophy for the first time in a decade. The right-armer also missed the two-Test trip to Sri Lanka, played on spin-friendly pitches, to make sure he was ready to perform later in the year. Although he did suffer a slight shoulder injury, Hazlewood ultimately played a starring role in Royal Challengers Bangalore's breakthrough IPL title triumph last Tuesday. Sign up to The Spin Subscribe to our cricket newsletter for our writers' thoughts on the biggest stories and a review of the week's action after newsletter promotion Coming off a T20 workload, he has less than a week to get ready for his first Test since December. 'I ticked over some good overs just before the [IPL] final in Ahmedabad, in different weather than [England's], so it was quite a tough session,' Hazlewood said. 'Then every time you play a game in IPL, you're probably going to get almost seven or eight overs in when you factor in warm ups.'
