SUV driver in fatal NAIA crash pleads 'not guilty' in Pasay Court
The driver in the fatal car crash incident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport pleaded not guilty before the Pasay Regional Trial Court on Tuesday, according to GMA Integrated News' Oscar Oida.
The driver is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.

On May 4, the SUV driven by the 47-year-old man from Batangas crashed into the Departure West Curbside Area of NAIA Terminal 1, according to the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP).
Two people, including a four-year old girl, died in the incident, while several others were also injured. Personnel from NAIA Police Station 1 arrested the driver at the scene.
On May 16, the AVSEGROUP said the driver was released from NAIA Police Station 1 after posting bail at P100,000. —Hana Bordey/ VAL, GMA Integrated News

LTO: Motorcycles most of 18k unregistered vehicles apprehended in May 2025
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said Tuesday it apprehended 18,934 unregistered motor vehicle, most of which are motorcycles, for the month of May. According to a statement, the majority were motorcycles with 12,206. There were 3,105 tricycles, at least 1,800 vans, and over 1,000 private vehicles. The remainder is divided between passenger jeepneys, buses and trucks. LTO data revealed that most of the apprehensions occurred in the jurisdiction of LTO- Region 4A with 9,906 apprehensions. This area covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon. 'Our campaign will remain aggressive until such time that we compel these motor vehicles to comply with their obligation to have their motor vehicles registered because it is through registration that motor vehicles are checked for road worthiness… This is not only part of your obligation as motor vehicle owners, it is part of your responsibility not only for your safety but also of your family,' said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II. The LTO official urged motor vehicle owners to register their cars to avoid hefty fines, adding that driving an unregistered motor vehicle has a P10,000 fine. French tourist injected with drug in ‘Ativan Gang'-style robbery
Authorities are warning the public, especially tourists, about a disturbing new twist on an old robbery scheme of the 'Ativan Gang'—but this time involving an injectable substance. According to a 24 Oras report by Jun Veneracion, a French tourist, identified only as 'Matthew,' was robbed of nearly P100,000 worth of cash and gadgets after being approached by a group who pretended to be friendly locals offering a tour of Manila. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 25, while Matthew was walking around Makati. The group befriended him and invited him to explore tourist spots in Manila. They ate together before boarding a taxi. That's when things took a dark turn. "At one point, I felt an injection in my arm so they drugged me and I became completely unconscious and I have no memories," Matthew said. When he regained consciousness, his cash and mobile phone were gone. "Pag gising niya, wala na yung kanyang mga gamit na cellphone at cash na nagkakahalaga ng 96,000 pesos," said Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Joseph Arguellas. (When he woke up, his cellphone and cash worth P96,000 were already gone.) Police saw a resemblance in the robbery style to the MO of the notorious Ativan Gang, an old group known for dropping drugs into the food or drink of their victims and robbing them. However, injecting drugs into the victims is new. Authorities say the shift in method may be due to increased public awareness of the old approach. "Nabanggit nung isa sa mga babae na suspects na masyado nang gasgas yung kanilang paglagay ng gamot o kung anumang kemikal sa tubig tapos pinapainom," said Police Colonel Jean Dela Torre of the Makati police force. Woman arrested at NAIA 3 for attempting to transport illegal drugs
A 62-year-old woman was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 for allegedly attempting to transport illegal drugs on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said. The suspect was bound for Bacolod City when authorities found two kilos of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P13.7 million, in her hand carry baggage. 'At approximately 1 p.m., operatives of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) conducted an operation at the Final Security Screening Checkpoint in the International Departure Area, leading to the apprehension of the suspect, who was scheduled to board a flight bound for Bacolod City,' said PDEA in a statement. 'Also seized during the operation were a cellular phone, a digital weighing scale, travel documents, and identification cards,' it added.
