Tori Spelling and ex husband's debt spiral exposed as bank reveals they left $400,000 loan unpaid for 13 YEARS
Tori Spelling and her estranged husband Dean McDermott owe a bank nearly $400,000 stemming from an unpaid 13-year-old loan for more than $395,000, according to a new lawsuit.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 52, and Toronto-born actor, 58, were named in a six-figure lawsuit City National Bank filed last week in Los Angeles.
Spelling, who played Donna Martin on the 90s Fox staple, and McDermott initially took out the loan in 2012 for $400,000, according to the legal complaint.
Spelling - who is dating reality star Ryan Cramer - and McDermott initially borrowed $400,000, the bank said in the lawsuit, adding that the pair 'have failed to satisfy their obligations ... under the terms of the promissory note.'
Spelling's past financial issues have made headlines: The daughter of late Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling and wife Candy Spelling publicly contemplated starting an Only Fans account less than a year ago as a means of paying for her kids' college tuitions.
Daily Mail has reached out to reps for both parties for further comment on the story. US Weekly was first to report the story.
Four years later in 2016, the bank filed paperwork with the court stating that the couple was in debt more than $188,000 and had violated the pact they had previously agreed to.
A judgment was issued against Spelling and McDermott on May 22, 2017 for $220,088.37, Page Six reported after reviewing legal docs.
A court awarded the bank more than $400,000 from Spelling and McDermott in a 2019 judgment, according to the outlet.
Tori was assessed a sum to pay of $219,796.66 while Dean was assessed $202,066.10 for the unpaid loan and subsequent charges, the outlet reported after reviewing court docs.
Spelling is mother to five children with McDermott: Liam Aaron, 18, Stella Doreen, 17, Hattie Margaret, 13, Finn Davey, 12, and Beau Dean, eight; McDermott is also father to son Jack, 26, with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace, 63.
McDermott, who has been seen in films such as Foibles and Open Range, did not appear to be rattled by the collection efforts, as he spoke about his passion for yoga in a clip he posted Monday to Instagram Stories.
McDermott, who's been seen on shows such as Due South, Tracker and Earth: Final Conflict, wore a T-shirt that read,' Stuck between Namaste and Kiss My A**.'
'This is where I find myself living a lot,' he said. 'I try to go more to Namaste and not so much to kiss my a**, but I wanted to share this.'
McDermott spread positivity to his 138,000-plus followers, saying, 'If no one's told you that they love you today, I'm telling you right now, I love you guys, and you're all f***ing rock stars!'
Spelling said in court docs she and McDermott had separated on June 17, 2023, listing 'irreconcilable differences' as her reason for the split.
Spelling in legal docs had requested sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their five children.
She also requesed McDermott provide her with spousal support and reimburse her legal fees in the matter.
The former couple had documented their 17-year-plus union on the TV shows Tori & Dean: Inn Love and Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

The birth announcement came just hours after Kelly blasted Green in a shock direct message on Instagram. Fox and Kelly, 34, split in November after she reportedly discovered he was speaking to other women behind her back. Machine's direct Instagram message to Brian said: 'Stop asking when our child is gonna be born. you the FEDS,' adding a rat emoji and a police officer emoji. 'Quit calling TMZ and focus on that apology you owe me for speaking on my name in public, Machine continued. 'You chose the wrong one to f*** with mr child actor. Go back to cereal commercials.' Brian publicly shared the message on his Instagram stories - along with his thoughts, writing: 'I didn't know "child actor" was something bad. Leo, careful. He may be coming for you next.' Brian was referring to Leo as in Leonardo DiCaprio, who is also a former child star. Megan and Brian were married from 2010 until 2021. He has since moved on with Sharna Burgess; they share a son together named Zane, born in June 2022. In December, Brian expressed regret that Megan is navigating her latest pregnancy while dealing with the fallout from her break-up. The cameraperson then proceeded to tell him about the text messages Megan reportedly found in November that led to her calling it quits with Machine. Adding: 'How old is he? ... He's in his 30s, isn't he? ... But in your 30s, like, f**k. Grow up. Like, she's pregnant.' 'I just want the best for her. I want the best for the baby. I want the best for our kids. That's a shame,' he said to TMZ. 'I'm heartbroken about it because I know she's been so excited. And the kids are so excited for life and the change and all of that.' Brian called the situation 'tragic' and noted that he does not know 'the facts.' Megan pulled the plug on her relationship with Machine over Thanksgiving - after reportedly discovering he was speaking to other women behind her back. They split after Megan 'found material on MGK's phone that was upsetting, and it made her want him to leave the trip early,' the source said. Kelly, born Colson Baker, left the trip earlier and they have not seen each other since. An insider recently claimed that Megan wanted to just 'focus' on her pregnancy. The insider told People: 'They tried to make things work for many years. It was exhausting for Megan. 'She's done with him now. She just wants to focus on the baby and her boys now.' She posted a picture of her with her pregnant belly and a snap of her positive pregnancy test - to one of Machine Gun Kelly's songs in the pregnancy reveal, which she shared on November 11. Fox and Kelly previously suffered a miscarriage. Megan captioned the post: 'Nothing is ever really lost. Welcome back,' adding a heart emoji. Megan and MGK started dating in 2020 after she split from Brian following 10 years of marriage. They got engaged in January 2022 with the couple briefly splitting in February 2023 but working things through and getting back together - but not getting engaged again. Megan previously revealed she believes she manifested the rapper turned rocker into the person he is, adding that she manifested him when she was four years old. 'He's literally my exact type that I've been manifesting since I was four. I'm also four years older than him. So, I think I made him.' Adding: 'My thoughts and intentions grew him into the person that he is, who knows what he would've looked like or been like if it wasn't for me.' The couple met on the film project Midnight In The Switchgrass in March 2020.

Anne Burrell, TV chef who coached the 'Worst Cooks in America,' dies at 55
TV chef Anne Burrell, who coached culinary fumblers through hundreds of episodes of 'Worst Cooks in America,' died Tuesday at her New York home. She was 55. The Food Network, where Burrell began her two-decade television career on 'Iron Chef America' and went on to other shows, confirmed her death. The cause was not immediately clear, and medical examiners were set to conduct an autopsy. Police were called to her address before 8 a.m. Tuesday and found an unresponsive woman who was soon pronounced dead. The police department did not release the woman's name, but records show it was Burell's address. Burrell was on TV screens as recently as April, making chicken Milanese cutlets topped with escarole salad in one of her many appearances on NBC 's 'Today' show. She faced off against other top chefs on the Food Network's 'House of Knives' earlier in the spring. 'Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent — teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring,' the network said in a statement. Known for her bold and flavorful but not overly fancy dishes, and for her spiky platinum-blonde hairdo, Burrell and various co-hosts on 'Worst Cooks in America' led teams of kitchen-challenged people through a crash course in savory self-improvement. On the first show in 2010, contestants presented such unlikely personal specialties as cayenne pepper and peanut butter on cod, and penne pasta with sauce, cheese, olives and pineapple. The accomplished chefs had to taste the dishes to evaluate them, and it was torturous, Burrell confessed in an interview with The Tampa Tribune at the time. Still, Burrell persisted through 27 seasons, making her last appearance in 2024. 'If people want to learn, I absolutely love to teach them,' she said on ABC 's 'Good Morning America' in 2020. 'It's just them breaking bad habits and getting out of their own way.' Burrell was born Sept. 21, 1969, in the central New York town of Cazenovia, where her parents ran a flower store. She earned an English and communications degree from Canisius University and went on to a job as a headhunter but hated it, she said in a 2008 interview with The Post-Standard of Syracuse. Having always loved cooking, she soon enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America, for which she later taught. She graduated in 1996, spent a year at an Italian culinary school and then worked in upscale New York City restaurants for a time. 'Anytime Anne Burrell gets near hot oil, I want to be around,' Frank Bruni, then-food critic at the New York Times, enthused in a 2007 review. By the next year, Burrell was hosting her own Food Network show, 'Secrets of a Restaurant Chef,' and her TV work became a focus. Over the years she also wrote two cookbooks, 'Cook Like a Rock Star' and 'Own Your Kitchen: Recipes to Inspire and Empower,' and was involved with food pantries, juvenile diabetes awareness campaigns and other charities. Burrell's own tastes, she said, ran simple. She told The Post-Standard her favorite food was bacon and her favorite meal was her mother's tuna fish sandwich. 'Cooking is fun,' she said. 'It doesn't have to be scary. It's creating something nurturing.' Survivors include her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021, and his son, her mother and her two siblings. 'Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,' the family said in a statement released by the Food Network.

Seven California men charged in 'largest jewellery heist' in US history
Seven men from California have been charged in the "largest jewellery heist in US history", involving the theft of $100m (£75m) worth of gold, gems, and luxury heist has been a mystery in California for nearly three years after a Brinks company truck transporting the jewellery was robbed at a remote stop as one driver slept inside, and another was having a suspects tracked the truck as it left a jewellery show near San Francisco with 73 bags, officials said. The next morning, they stole 24 bags when the truck was at a rest stop in Lebec, California, according to court indictment does not say how they gained access to the truck. Announcing the charges on Tuesday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) alleged that one of the suspects scouted a jewellery show near San Francisco for several days in 2022 and then robbed the truck with his accomplices in the early hours of 11 July.A copy of the indictment says the defendants watched as a Brinks truck was loaded with jewels and then followed the truck for approximately 300 miles (485 km) from San Mateo to Lebec, the truck was parked at a stop in Lebec, the suspects allegedly stole 24 bags containing about $100m in jewellery, the court document said the robbers did not use any weapons during the heist. The robbery was discovered when the driver returned to the vehicle and saw that the exterior padlock was missing. Authorities believe it was sawed off. The truck was on its way to another jewellery show in Pasadena, California. Some of the jewels were recovered during the execution of search warrants on 16 June, according to a DOJ Kroll, an attorney who represents some of the jewellers whose merchandise was stolen, told the BBC he did not know how much had been recovered."Most of my clients are senior citizens," he said.
