Vehicle involved in East Haven fire engine hit-and-run found
EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — An East Haven firetruck was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday night, according to police.

Police said that the incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. while the engine was en route to a structure fire in the Foxon area, with its sirens and lights on. The engine was traveling on Hemingway Avenue when a red Scion TC failed to yield and turned directly into the truck.
The fire engine veered into a light pole, according to the fire department. Police say the driver of the Scion fled the scene after spinning out and continued northbound on Hemingway Avenue before turning westbound onto Edward Street.
Police posted on Facebook around 9:30 p.m. that the vehicle was found.

VSP issue Codi Alert for endangered boy in Chesapeake
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY)– Virginia State Police have issued a Codi Alert for an endangered boy in Chesapeake. According to state police, 17-year-old Jose Miguel Pomales was last seen at his residence on June 10 at 3:40 p.m. The description of his clothing is unknown. He may be operating a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic with Virginia license plate: TEK4237. Pomales is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is 5'10 and 186 pounds. MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile District 2 City Councilman William Carroll has announced his re-election campaign to the city council, according to a news release. Since rejoining the council in 2021, he's focused on infrastructure projects, advocated for affordable housing and pushed for stronger community investments. 15-year-old boy sitting at bus stop killed in Long Beach crash
A 15-year-old boy sitting at a bus stop was killed after being struck by a car in Long Beach. On June 11, Long Beach police responded to a crash at Palo Verde Avenue and Carson Street shortly before 3 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a driver in an Infiniti G37 sedan was traveling westbound on Carson Street when it ran a red light at the Palo Verde Avenue intersection. The Infiniti struck a Toyota Prius that was traveling southbound on Palo Verde Avenue. The impact caused the Infiniti sedan to overturn. The car skidded onto a sidewalk and struck the 15-year-old boy who was sitting at the bus stop. The boy was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries. The Infiniti driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition and the Prius driver was uninjured. 'At this time, speed appears to be a factor in the collision,' police said. The 15-year-old boy's identity was not released. The fatal crash remains under investigation.
