Family-of-seven found dead inside car with three kids after horror discovery
A chilling discovery was made by locals in India on Monday, as a family-of-seven were tragically found dead inside a parked vehicle, including three children, according to police
A family of seven, including three children, were tragically found dead inside a parked car by horrified locals. Police confirmed the harrowing discovery on Monday night after residents discovered the bodies locked inside a parked vehicle outside a house.
Authorities believe 42-year-old Praveen Mittal, his parents, wife, and three children, were heavily in debt, which prompted them to enter into a tragic suspected suicide pact. Police believe Mr Mittal had come to Panchkula, India with his family on Monday to attend a Hanuman Katha programme.
It is claimed that when the event finished, the family allegedly agreed to enter into a suicide pact while returning to Dehradun.
The deceased were identified as Mr Mittal, 42, along with his parents, wife, and their two daughters and son. Punit Rana, who first spotted the car parked outside his house, quickly called for an ambulance.
Police were able to break the doors of the car and rushed the victims to a local hospital. Tragically, they were all declared dead on arrival. Authorities confirmed they recovered a suicide note from the scene. An investigation into their deaths is underway.
Detective Himadri Kaushik, who is leading the investigation, told local media: "This is too early to reach any conclusion. Investigations are in progress, and we're trying to get in touch with their kin to complete the inquest and other formalities."
It comes months after a seven-year-old girl who survived her mum's triple murder -suicide rampage tragically died after fighting for her life in hospital.
Olivia Blackmer was shot in the head by her mother Tranyelle Harshman at the family's home in Byron, Wyoming, on February 10 in a horror attack during which the 32-year-old killed three of her other children.
Harshman - who was living with postpartum depression and PTSD - shot dead Olivia's older sister Brailey, nine, and her two younger twin half-sisters, two-year-old Brooke and Jordan.
The mum then called 911 and told authorities where to find her children's bodies before turning the gun on herself, and later died at hospital following the arrival of first responders at the scene, who transferred gravely injured Olivia to Utah Children's Hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery.
She spent several days under heavy sedation before her step-mum announced the sad news that she had died from her injuries.
Writing in an update on a GoFundMe account she had set up to help raise money for her medical expenses, Katelynn Beatty said on Monday that Olivia had fought "up to the last minute".
But she added that the nine-year-old's body had "been through too much" and she succumbed to her injuries.

Alison Fraser, Greg's cousin, has now posted a picture taken of the 38-year-old before his disappearance. Jillian Monks, Greg's sister, had asked for home camera or doorbell footage from the Cerro de Aguia area between 2am and 5am on May 28. She noted that this was because police believed Greg was in the area around this time. (Image: Jillian Monks/Facebook) A family friend has also set up a GoFundMe page to support Greg's family. It has so far raised nearly £19,000. A statement published on the page reads: 'I have been asked by the family to set this up. "Our son Greg Monks, 38, went to Portugal for a stag do on Tuesday, May 27. On their first night out, our son Greg never returned to his hotel and has now been reported missing for three days. 'We are desperately seeking Greg's safe return and need your help. There are professional search teams out looking for Greg, and the family have all flown out to try and help find him, but they don't know how long their stay will be. 'They are doing everything they can. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in our efforts to bring Greg home. 'Thank you for your support and prayers.' Greg's family say his disappearance has been reported to the police, the hotel, where he was staying, and the British Embassy in Portugal. A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office previously said: 'We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Portugal and are in contact with the local authorities'. Kentucky woman claims her boyfriend was fired after a tornado destroyed their home. Officials say that isn't true
A down-on-her-luck Kentucky woman who claimed her boyfriend was laid off when they lost their home to a tornado had to stop asking for donations after police began looking into her story. While returning to her London, Kentucky, home after the death of her mother-in-law, Sierra Barnes said she learned a tornado was about to hit her town and her family was able to head to safety, KLTV reported. 'It was like a voice spoke to me, 'Turn around.' It was probably the best thing we could have done,' she told the news station. When she was finally able to return, she found her home had suffered heavy damage and could potentially even be ruled a total loss. 'I built my whole life there. I raised my daughter there,' she said. Barnes later set up a GoFundMe seeking help after the loss, but also wrote on the fundraiser that her boyfriend lost his job working for the city of London's public works department. According to a since-deleted section of the fundraiser, Barnes said her boyfriend had been working 12-hour workdays since the tornado and 'now they have laid off him and seven other men as well.' Barnes told KLTV her boyfriend was part of a group that was told they were about to be laid off. However, officials with the city of London told the news station there had been no terminations in the past week – and no layoffs planned for the immediate future. City officials noted they had not fired anyone, but were, instead, looking to hire additional help. It was not immediately clear what caused Barnes to include that claim in her fundraiser. London police said they were investigating the incident. Barnes' GoFundMe remains listed but is no longer accepting donations. It also makes no mention of her boyfriend losing his job. Before it was shuttered, the fundraiser received $500.
