This Cybertruck-Esque Casket Offers a $10 Million 'Full Self-Burying' Option
It's hard to argue against the fact that the Tesla Cybertruck is an iconic design. Whether one likes it or not, it's shifted the way many brands think about construction and composition. For proof, look no further than to Titan Caskets, the company behind the Hypercasket — a stainless steel sarcophagus for tech lovers.
Priced at a lofty $9999, this angular box features 12-gauge stainless steel construction and premium vegan leather upholstery inside, along with rubber gaskets and a gas piston for a tight seal and ease of closing. Opening it requires use of the recessed handle that hides in the top of the casket until it's needed. The box also has a memory tube for storing photos or messages, and Titan even includes a cloth to clean the outside of the casket.
If that's not enough to entice you to plop your mortal form in one of these, perhaps the Hypercasket options list could sway you. For just $99, you can add a seat belt, in case you're worried about winding up in a post-mortem wreck. But that modest option can't compare to the "Full Self-Burying" function. For a mere $10 million (yes, that's a one with seven zeros behind it), Titan says this option will enable your casket to bury itself in the ground.
Those hoping to utilize the FSB feature are encouraged not to hold their breath (either literally and figuratively, thought the former could potentially be good for Titan's business). According to the company, "This feature is currently in development and will be added via an update at a future date*." That asterisk leads to a footnote:
"*Full self burying functionality is not guaranteed to arrive this century. Functionality may be rolled out via wireless, over-the-air update or through a team of shovel wielding oompa-loompas. Regulatory approval pending."
The apparently Cybertruck-inspired product actually arrived sometime last year but as yet, it's flown under the radar — or rather, six feet under the ground. We've reached out to Titan for more information on the design process and options; we'll update you here if we hear back. You Might Also Like
