Jools Holland confirms Wexford return as venue and ticket release date revealed
Those lucky enough to have got tickets to the Spiegeltent show in 2019 were blown away by the high energy performance of the 19 piece orchestra with guest vocals from Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.
Finally, given the success of that show, Lantern Events are delighted that the piano maestro will make a very welcome return to the National Opera House for a special show on June 7, 2026.
Again on the night he will be accompanied by the uber talented Rhythm & Blues Orchestra with guest vocals from Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and Sumudu Jayatilaka.
He will also be joined by soulful British singer/songwriter Andrew Roachford who rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like 'Cuddly Toy' and led the band Roachford. A solo artist and a member of Mike and the Mechanics since 2010, he was awarded an MBE in 2019 for services to music.
As for Jools and the gang, people will know what to expect. It will be fun-filled and high energy as they rip through a set of blues and boogie woogie classics which they have finely tuned over countless years and massive shows all over the world.
Tickets for the show are set to be released this Friday, June 13, at 10 a.m. via Lantern.ie and nationaloperahouse.ie and will be priced at €67.50 + facility fee.

‘Monster' Royal Ascot horse outruns a car in blistering workout under Ryan Moore – as bookies scramble to slash price
EVERY punter knows the famous story of how legendary racehorse Frankel famously outran the 7.13am train from Newmarket to Cambridge. But it looks like a new legend could be made after a 'monster' Royal Ascot runner appeared to show more zip than a car in a 'blistering' piece of work. Millionaire runner Satono Reve impressed all those who saw him on the July track at Newmarket on Wednesday morning. Trained by Noriyuki Hori, the international raider looked a machine when extending under the watchful eye of his master trainer. Footage of his work showed a car in the distance fail to get up close to the six-year-old as he absolutely flew past those near the post. And his workmate, a local horse trained by James Horton, was soon left trailing in his wake. But it was Moore's role in the saddle that really got tongues wagging ahead of Satono Reve's intended run in the star-studded Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes next Saturday. Satono Reve has won seven of his 11 career races and amassed more than £2.5million in prize money. British punters may not know much about him but he has form against Ka Ying Rising - officially the best sprinter in the world. Paddy Power and Ladbrokes cut the speedster to 6-1 from 8s after footage of Satono Reve's work under Moore spread online. Most read in Horse Racing Paddy's Paul Binfield said: "There's been a bit of interest for the Japanese raider this morning and while it's hard to equate winning a Grade One at Chukyo with the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, the volume we've seen has forced us into evasive action and the Hori-trained runner is into 6-1 from 8s." Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes added: "Satono Reve placed behind superstar Ka Ying Rising on both his previous trips abroad, and punters are excited to see how that translates at Royal Ascot." Punters absolutely loved what they saw. One said Satono Reve 'burned up the turf' while another added in response to the footage simply: "Monster." He'll have his work cut out in the race proper, with globe-trotting superstar Lazzat, one of many recently bought by Wathnan, heading the market at 3-1. Ed Sheeran responds to comments about Irish identity
After some fans criticised Ed Sheeran's statement that he identified "culturally as Irish", the singer has said he is "allowed to feel connection" to a place his family is from. The singer-songwriter, who was born in West Yorkshire and raised in Suffolk, appeared on The Louis Theroux podcast, where he spoke about his large Irish family, including his Belfast-born father, and how he spent his holidays in the country as a child. However, some fans did not take too kindly to Sheeran's revelations and took to X to share their thoughts. One user wrote: "Identifies just means to pretend", while another said: "That Galway Girl must've spun his head around." Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Sheeran posted a message to "anyone with an opinion after what I said about my heritage". "My dad is Irish. My family is Irish. I have an Irish passport," he wrote. "The culture I was brought up around is Irish." "The first music I learnt was Irish. Just coz I was born somewhere else doesn't change my culture, I can be allowed to feel connection to a place half my family is from." Speaking to Theroux, Sheeran spoke about how he was proud of his Irish heritage. "So I identify culturally as Irish, but I was obviously born and raised in Britain," he said. "I do feel like my culture is something that I'm really proud of and grew up with and want to express. "And I feel like just because I was born in Britain doesn't necessarily mean that I have to just be (British), there's loads of people I know that are half this or quarter this." The hitmaker also stated that Ireland was his "second home musically" and the place he is "most successful musically".
