Millionaire businessman lists the five essential things he does before every flight at the airport

Daily Mail30-04-2025

A millionaire has shared five essential things he does at the airport before every flight - tips that he claims can save the average traveller thousands.
Mark Tilbury, from Oxfordshire, is a self-made, self-proclaimed millionaire, and is the CEO of Model World LTD, Century U.K. LTD and Tilbury Multi-Media LTD, as per his LinkedIn profile.
The 56-year-old businessman often shares wealth and success tips with millions of his followers on social media - from how to build multiple streams of income to investment advice for young adults.
In a recent video uploaded to his Youtube channel, the entrepreneur highlighted a series of hacks to help save the average plane passenger money at the airport.
The eye-watering costs of food and drinks, parking, duty-free shopping, and certain airport lounges leave a significant dent in jetsetters' budgets before even departing.
But to avoid the so-called terminal trap, Tilbury shared the following tips to ensure travellers spend less at the airport and save more for their trip.
Take a photo of luggage
Taking photos of your luggage before checking it in at the airport is especially important a number of reasons, including if your bags are lost or get stolen.
This essentially helps you identify your luggage, provides proof of contents for claims, and can aid in recovering your belongings.
In the clip, Tilbury said: 'I take a picture of my luggage just before check-in so I can claim up to $3,800 (£2,869) if it gets lost or stolen.'
Pack an empty water bottle
Bringing an empty water bottle to the airport allows passengers to stay hydrated on flights without having to fork out for expensive bottled water.
It also helps reduce plastic waste by allowing flyers to refill their bottles with tap water or at designated water stations, as Tilbury added: 'I fill it up after security to save on overpriced drinks.'
Use a credit card for free lounge entry
According to Tilbury, passengers who use a credit card can be granted free access to airport lounges, where they can 'load up on food' before a flight.
Some credit cards provide free or discounted lounge access, potentially saving on entry fees and in-lounge spending, so it's worth checking with your bank for more opportunities to spend less while enjoying premium amenities at the airport.
Put an Apple AirTag in luggage
Tilbury stressed the importance of purchasing an Apple AirTag - worth as little as £28 - and putting it into luggage so that it can be tracked 'in real time'.
Apple AirTags offer real-time tracking using the Apple Find My network, allowing passengers to monitor their bag's location even after it's checked.
This, in turn, provides peace of mind, especially if flyers are worried about delays or lost luggage.
Email yourself important documents
In the video, Tilbury said: 'I email myself copies of my passport and travel documents in case I lose anything.'
Sending yourself copies of your passport and relevant travel documents, such as emails, boarding passes, and itineraries, is also crucial as it provides a backup in case of loss, theft, or if your physical documents are damaged or stolen during a trip.

Molly-Mae confesses to secret Tommy reunion struggle as duo enjoy staycation

Molly-Mae Hague has admitted there are certain parts of her newfound relationship with boxer and Love Island partner Tommy Fury that she is struggling to deal with Reality TV star Molly-Mae Hague has admitted there are parts of her rekindled romance with Tommy Fury that she is still struggling with. The former Love Island pair stunned fans last year when they announced their shock split after five years together. However, the parents of Bambi have decided to give love another go and went public recently after keeping their reunion under wraps. Since announcing they are back together, the family of three have enjoyed several sweet trips, including a staycation in the Cotswolds this weekend. ‌ But the Maebe founder has admitted it's not all smooth sailing. Speaking to her fans in her latest vlog update on YouTube, Molly-Mae confessed it has felt strange adjusting back to having their relationship in the open. ‌ She candidly discussed how she struggled on the family's recent trip to Disneyland Paris. She told the camera: "Disneyland was just like… I don't want to say not enjoyable, because we had a lovely time. Disneyland was just, we went at the wrong time.' Molly-Mae explained how the trio went to the park with loved ones during the school holidays. However, duo to their status, she revealed the family was constantly being filmed and photos being taken. Despite trying to play down the situation, she said she noticed a number of people snapping them without permission. And it was that which was the hardest part of the trip as they had their young daughter in tow, Molly admitted. She went on: "At Disneyland, when I was with Bambi, it's quite hard to navigate that. When you have a toddler, you're out with your partner, and there's already a little bit of a new thing that you're back out together, and you're trying to navigate that, and then you can see people looking and staring and filming." ‌ Molly-Mae added: "It was my birthday as well, and it was just like… kind of tricky to figure out if we were having boundaries, or there weren't any boundaries." She admitted the incident has meant she won't be rushing back to enjoy a family trip out in the open anytime soon. Despite saying "we should have known better," Molly said their newfound relationship's attention means they will "feel it more now". "It's just a bit like new territory," she said. "Because for people it's a bit like taboo, I don't know, but if people see us out, it's like 'oh, like let's film!' I don't know – I just think I maybe felt it a bit more this time." ‌ Over the weekend, Molly also shared a number of sweet snaps from their more intimate time away together in the Cotswolds. Posting to Instagram, Molly said: "This look is giving mum who's had approx 3 seconds to get ready." She then posted a photo taken at Aynhoe Park, a 17th-century country estate located at the boundaries of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire - just next to the Cotswolds - and wrote "Restoration Hardware place is my heaven. Interior spam incoming." The mum-of-one continued to upload a series of images of the venue's luxurious interior, including two adorable photos of Bambi carrying a little pram while walking around the rooms. She also posted pictures of her favourite bedrooms and explained how her daughter put her baby doll to bed in every room of the building.

Scottish travel vlogger left surprised in viral review of India's 'worst airline'

Hugh has travelled across India, visiting Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kerala and Bengaluru - to name a few. A Scottish travel vlogger has flown on India's ' worst-rated airline' and has urged people to ignore one thing - and that's its low rating. Going viral in one of his latest videos, the Scotsman told his followers that he is 'catching a one-hour flight with India's worst-rated airline, which is IndiGo". Revealing it "ranks 103 out of 109 in the world", showing a screenshot of AirHelp's website ranking, he says that this is "pretty bad, but I want to see how bad they really are". ‌ Hugh, or HughAbroad as he's known, has amassed millions of followers across his social media platforms—including TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram — and consistently gets millions of views on each video on TikTok alone. Heading to Bengaluru, formerly called Bangalore, he said the plane ticket cost him 3,760 Indian rupees, which is the equivalent of £34 or $44. ‌ He revealed that for this price, you get 20kg of luggage and a chicken sandwich on board. With his window seat secured, he checked in and dropped off his bags - all of which was an easy process with no issues. When it came to boarding the plane, the Scots traveller was left shocked, wondering why it's ranked so low. 'Usually with these cheap airlines you go on the tarmac and up the stairs but here there's a tunnel straight in," he noted. Filming his seating area, he said: "Spotless. Really, really clean and the leg room is pretty good. There's literally no rubbish at all down here, just the usual magazine and safety instructions. The seat is relatively comfortable as well." Giving it the thumbs up, he said: "Pretty good so far. I don't see why this is rated the worst airline in India - no complaints.' After taking off, he gave an update and still didn't see any issues. "Only seven minutes after the estimated departure time, we have taken off. Impressive." "So far IndiGo, so good," he added, noting that despite coming in at 103rd place, it was on time and that the plane was clean, the seat went back: "What's not to like? Also very, very, affordable.' ‌ Speaking about his Chicken Junglee sandwich, he said that the "bread is very fresh, fluffy and inside that chicken is pretty moist with the mayonnaise". He rated the sandwich seven out of 10. 'So far, this has been the best experience I could've ever imagined, nothing has gone wrong" he said. Within an hour, he landed and praised the airline yet again. He concluded his airline review by saying: "That honestly was an absolute fantastic experience and if anyone tells you anything negative about IndiGo, they are lying. I'm rating that at 10 out of 10 - flawless honestly for a budget airline that was spot on." ‌ Speaking to the Daily Record, Hugh said: "I was shocked at how low IndiGo was on the rankings, as it's one of the best budget airline experiences I've had. On time, clean, spacious and affordable. I think the rankings need to be taken with a pinch of salt, to be honest." According to the Hindustan Times: "IndiGo has been ranked among the 'world's worst airlines' in the 2024 AirHelp Score report, securing 103rd place out of 109 with a score of 4.80. The low rating is attributed to underwhelming customer satisfaction and poor handling of flight disruption claims. "Responding to the ranking, IndiGo criticised the methodology, saying the survey does not disclose the sample size from India, casting doubt on the survey's credibility. "Conducted by AirHelp, an EU-based claim processing agency, the survey evaluates airlines globally on punctuality, quality of service, and handling of compensation claims. These criteria, weighed equally, form the overall score. The analysis covers data from January to October, incorporating on-time performance, customer claims processing, and feedback from passengers across 54 countries on food, comfort, and service." Hugh has travelled across India, visiting Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kerala and Bengaluru - to name a few.
