He is on a promotional spree, leaving no stone unturned to market his upcoming movie in the best possible way. While doing rounds for promotions, Mr Perfectionist talked about his failures in marriages and shed light on his reported cameo in Lokesh Kanagaraj's next. In a candid chat with Zoom, Aamir Khan underlined that he can pretend or fake that his married life with Kiran Rao is happy, but that would be a lie. 'Humare parivar ke liye bhi ye ek cheez hain jisse hum khush nahi hain. Hum khushi-khushi ye cheez nahi kar rahe hain. Lekin kuch circumstances aise aayein jisme humein lagta hain ki shayad humara rishta badal gaya hain. Toh meri thinking ye hain ki yaa toh main duniya ko jhooth bol sakta hoon aur pretend kar sakta hoon ki Kiran aur main bohot khush hain aur hum log shaadi-shuda hain," said the actor. (For our family, too, this is one thing that we are not happy about. We are not doing these things happily. However, some circumstances have arisen in which we feel our relationship may have evolved. So my thinking is that maybe I can lie to the world and pretend that Kiran and I are very happy.) For the unversed, the actor has been divorced twice. He got separated from his first wife, Reena Dutta, after 21 years of marriage, and then parted ways with Kiran Rao, having spent 16 years in marriage. Aamir Khan defends endorsing betting app, says he has refused alcohol and tobacco ads: ‘If it's legal, then let me do it'

Aamir Khan, like most of his contemporaries, endorses many brands, but unlike many of them, he is choosy about the brands he lends his name to. For instance, Aamir has refused to lend his name to alcoholic beverages and tobacco products so when he got associated with betting app Dream 11 recently, his fans were quite shocked. In a recent interview, Aamir shared that he has a few conditions before he decides to endorse a brand, and the first condition is that the product has to deliver on its promise. In a chat with Zoom, Aamir shared, 'I always check that the product is delivering what they have promised.' He said that he has another condition and as per that, he never announces the price of the product. 'Sometimes, I break my own principle. For example, I never announce the price of the product that I am endorsing because I am not a salesman. I am a brand ambassador. I can talk about your brand but not about it's price,' he said and immediately recalled that he once broke that rule while endorsing Coca Cola. 'Once, I broke that rule and spoke about price as well. This was during 'Chota Coke' for Rs 5. Because I really liked its story. It was so creative that I compromised,' he said. Aamir said that he has refused big money in the endorsement space and shared, 'I have refused alcohol and tobacco. Recently, I did Dream 11 so people asked me that you are doing Dream 11, you refused alcohol, tobacco. But the script for Dream 11 was so good. I couldn't say no to it. I laughed so much after I read that ad. I was certain that I wanted to do it. As for the product, if it is illegal then ban it, then we won't make any ads on it. And if it's legal then let me do it too.' ALSO READ | Jaat: Bollywood stars are incapable of laughing at themselves; if Himesh Reshammiya can do it, why can't Sunny Deol? Aamir is one of the few celebrities who has not been associated with a tobacco brand. Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, and all the other big stars have endorsed pan masala brands. Akshay Kumar also got associated with one such brand but following massive backlash from his fans, he had to step away from the brand.

Aamir Khan found Shah Rukh Khan's Swades ‘boring', reveals why he rejected it

Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, said he found filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Swades', starring Shah Rukh Khan, 'very boring' and revealed that he was first offered the 2004 film. In a viral clip from an interview with Zoom, Aamir said he said 'no to Swades,' because 'I found it very boring.' He shared that Ashutosh had first pitched the movie, initially titled 'Kaveri Amma', during the shoot for the 2001 blockbuster Lagaan. 'Ashu narrated the story to me when we were making Lagaan. It was titled Kaveri Amma then,' the actor said, adding that he had liked the story 'very much' at the time, and had decided to take it up next. Soon after Lagaan was released, the filmmaker began working on the script of Swades, an Aamir Khan Productions (APK) film. 'After Lagaan was released, we made Ashu sit with a writer. AKP was producing it,' said Aamir. Aamir Khan said the three-hour narration for Swades bored him so much that he rejected the movie. 'When the story was ready, Ashu narrated it to me. It was a three-hour-long narration,' he said. Sharing his honest review with the filmmaker, the actor said that he told Ashutosh that he got bored. 'I told him, 'Mai bore ho gya hu. It's very important for you to hear this reaction'.' He also told Ashutosh that what he is trying to say through the script 'is very correct, noble, and important', but 'itne boring tareeke se kahega toh mujhe maza nhi aaega.' 'Baki log ka mujhe pata nhi, lekin mai bore ho gya hu,' Aamir said, adding that he suggested the filmmaker to make it more interesting. Aamir Khan also shared that he has never watched Swades; however, he said he trusts that Ashutosh Gowariker must have turned it into a masterpiece. He also mentioned that the audience loved Shah Rukh Khan's work in the movie. Swades is still regarded as one of King Khan's finest films to date. 'I've actually not seen the film yet. Maybe he'd have corrected it and people would've liked it then. I did note that people loved Shah Rukh's work in it,' said the actor.
