Chrissy Teigen fans reveal what they REALLY think of her shock alcohol relapse after four years sober
Chrissy Teigen shocked her fans and followers last week when she revealed that she had been struggling with relapses after announcing that she was quitting alcohol four years earlier.
The 39-year-old social media star made the revelation that she had temporarily given up on sobriety on Thursday's episode of her Self-Conscious podcast, featuring an interview with Quit Like A Woman author Holly Whitaker, and she shared the news for the rest of her fans in an Instagram post.
The admission — which was mocked by the former target of her cyber bullying, Courtney Stodden — was met with warm messages of support in the comments by her friends and adoring fans.
But some commenters weren't as charmed by her openness about her struggles giving up alcohol.
Several Instagram user couldn't figure out why Chrissy felt the need to share such a personal experience in a public forum.
'No one overshares quite like this one. Sooooo needy for attention,' read one person, according to Atlanta Black Star.
'She has phony written all over her,' another person reportedly wrote. 'She has never appeared genuine to me.'
'I don't know why celebrities tell their business. It's not anyone's business. Only family ❤️🖤,' they wrote.
Some commenters wrote cold or harsh comments, even if they were broadly supportive of Chrissy's goals.
'This is what AA cals a "dry dr*nk". Please get back on track,' read one unfeeling response.
A few people even seemed to give Chrissy the go-ahead to drink if she wanted, as if they had ignored the list of consequences of drinking that she laid out.
'It's okay to decide that you want to drink ❤️ your relationship with sobriety belongs to you and 💕,' one enabler wrote.
A few people suggested Chrissy's language about her struggles with alcohol was filled with too many euphemisms, and they derided her for not referring to herself as an 'alcoholic,' even though many addiction experts now reject that term because it can have a counterproductive, stigmatizing affect.
'Having one drink which turns into 8 is straight up alcoholism! Alcoholics can't have one drink!' wrote one commenter. 'I wish you luck on your sobriety journey. Denial is strong.'

Some similarly dismissive responses were spotted over on X.
'This is an irrelevant post in my TL. Chrissy Teigen is a rich entitled person,' the poster wrote. 'If she has an alcohol problem, go to rehab. Stop seeking sympathy.'
But many responses were far more positive, and many fans said they appreciated Chrissy's podcast.
Chrissy's husband John Legend wrote that he was 'always proud' of her.
Demi Lovato, who has long been open about their own struggles with addiction and substance abuse, wrote that Chrissy's honesty and vulnerability is so commendable.
'I learned it's about progress, not perfection! You are doing amazing and I'm so very proud of you 🖤.'
Chrissy's friend, that actress Jaime Pressly, wrote: 'I hear you loud and clear and I am proud of you and I love you old friend. Your pure and total honesty is a breath of fresh air always ❤️.'
Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star simply added a red heart emoji as a sign of support.
Other fans were similarly gushing in their comments, with many applauding Chrissy's 'honesty'
The White Lotus star Michelle Monaghan added that she 'appreciate[s]' Chrissy 'so much.'
Other fans were similarly gushing in their comments.
'Thank you for your honesty. And for being real for those of us who are in that in between,' read one popular comment. 'Sometimes it isn't black and white and those of us in the gray appreciate you 💜.'
In Chrissy original caption, she admitted to having relapsed on alcohol.
'Holly Whitaker changed my life, changed my perspective and changed how I view the f***ing beast that is alcohol. But to have to admit to all of you: I let it back into my life. to let a lot of you down, oh I feel it deeply [sic],' Chrissy wrote.
'I was so proud every time one of you told me on the street that holly and I made you want to rethink drinking, reframe drinking. I still am. The truth is, I don't know what I'm doing,' admitted the influencer, who has four children with John.
'I one hundred percent know I like me better sober. I one hundred percent know I get more done, I absolutely feel better in my body without it. And I am one hundred percent pissed that I can't be normal and have a cocktail with my husband on vacay without it turning into 8 and feeling like s***.'
Chrissy declared that she was 'tired of throwing up on a Tuesday' and no longer wants to 'feel like I need a shot to talk to a crowd. I hate that the thought of maybe having a drink can consume me some days.'
She acknowledged to her more than 40 million followers: 'So your rational mind is probably like 'OK THEN STOP, BITCH!' and god, do I f***ing AGREE! All I know is my relationship with the whole process of sobriety (and messing up) has changed for the better. I am deeply aware of where this can go if I let it.'
Letting fans into her current thought process, she explained that her 'plan right now is to continue to be mindful with' her sobriety.
'I can go to a concert sober and have the greatest time ever. I can avoid absinthe at the Ren Faire and be so abbbbsolutely full of joy. Photos of my kid's birthday parties are no longer me with bleary, sleepy drinking eyes. And I am proud of that.'
She allowed: 'But I still know my relationship with alcohol just isn't normal and never will be. Thank you for allowing me to figure it out openly in front of you all. Anyhow. This is for all the people who are figuring it out. And to the sober community, god I am still so, so proud of you. Until we meet again.'
Chrissy announced that she was giving up alcohol in a post for New Year's Eve in December 2020.
Although she admitted to having a 'few (wine) hiccups) along the way, in July 2022 she boasted that she had 'finally' made it to a full-year of sobriety.
'I miss feeling loopy and carefree sometimes, but to be honest toward the end, it didn't give that fun feeling anymore anyhow,' Chrissy said at the time.
She also revealed more about why she wanted to drink, as she said it was to relieve her 'crazy anxiety,' though she discovered after becoming sober that her anxiety 'mostly went away when I — get this — quit drinking!'
She also admitted that she could feel 'really frustrated' when she tried to remember special occasions in the past but had only fuzzy memories because of her drinking back then.
For example, she admitted that she couldn't remember getting a lesson from an Outback Steakhouse chef on how to make the restaurants popular Bloomin' Onion at her house because she had drank too much tequila.
'Wish I remembered really any awards show lol,' she added.
Chrissy also bemoaned how she looked out of it in so many photos taken at major events, or even 'just beach days with the family.'
She added: 'While I honestly STILL don't know if I'll never have a drink again, I do know I never want to be that way again. And for now, none is best. I'll let the bad dreams come up and try to sort them out in therapy, without booze. Prayers for a blooming onion redo, @outback?'
One person who didn't seem at all concerned by Chrissy's sobriety struggles was Courtney Stodden, who years earlier accused Chrissy of sending her bullying social media posts encouraging her to kill herself.
Chrissy later admitted to the cruel messages and publicly apologized to Stodden.
In a video posted over the weekend, Courtney held what looked like a glass of sparkling wine while recording her mocking video.
'OK, breaking news. I've decided that I'm going to start drinking alcohol again. Breaking news,' she said.
As she clinked her glass, she continued: 'There's nothing more important in this world than knowing that I am not sober.
'I'm having alcohol and I want everyone to know. It's just really important,' she said with a sly smile.
In her caption, she suggested meeting up to 'bury the hatchet' with Chrissy, but in a way that would harm her sobriety.
'Breaking news I started drinking again too Chrissy soooo here is my official invite — let's grab a drink and bury the hatchet mama,' she wrote.

Trump attends UFC championship fight in New Jersey, taking a break from politics, Musk feud
President Donald Trump walked out to a thunderous standing ovation just ahead of the start of the UFC pay-per-view card at the Prudential Center on Saturday night, putting his public feud with tech billionaire Elon Musk on hold to instead watch the fierce battles inside the cage. Trump was accompanied by UFC President Dana White and the pair headed to their cageside seats to Kid Rock's 'American Bad Ass.' Trump and White did the same for UFC's card last November at Madison Square Garden, only then they were joined by Musk. Trump shook hands with fans and supporters — a heavyweight lineup that included retired boxing champion Mike Tyson — on his way to the cage. Trump was joined by his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, along with son Eric Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump shook hands with the UFC broadcast team that included Joe Rogan. Rogan hosted Trump on his podcast for hours in the final stages of the campaign last year. UFC fans went wild for Trump and held mobile devices in their outstretched arms to snap pictures of him. Trump arrived in time for the start of a card set to include two championship fights. Julianna Peña and Merab Dvalishvili were scheduled to each defend their 135-pound championships. UFC fighter Kevin Holland won the first fight with Trump in the building, scaled the cage and briefly chatted with the President before his post-fight interview. ___

Fans go wild over 'turbo hot' WNBA star Sophie Cunningham as she poses with Caitlin Clark in barely-there outfit
Sophie Cunningham wasn't healthy enough to play for the Indiana Fever on Saturday night, but she still did enough to send social media crazy over her arrival outfit in Chicago. The Fever beat Angel Reese and Co with ease in the first ever WNBA game held at United Center - even with injured duo Caitlin Clark and Cunningham playing the role of assistant coaches on the sidelines. And before the game had even begun, Cunningham had set fans wild with her bold fit, posing for photos with Clark during their arrival at the arena. Taking to X, one labeled the Australian 'turbo hot', while another added: 'I'd let Sophie Cunningham ruin my life.' A third said: 'Sophie Cunningham is a total babe,' while a fourth noted: 'Sophie Cunningham could save my life.' On TikTok and Instagram before the game, Cunningham revealed her pregame outfit to her followers, pairing a sheer barely-there top with black shorts and a blazer. Clark, meanwhile, opted for a green halterneck top and matching pants, before the pair both changed into sportswear for their role on the sidelines. Clark and Cunningham have grown ever-closer since the latter's arrival in Indiana during the offseason, with many labeling them 'besties' after various snaps of the pair together on and off the court. On Saturday night, the Fever didn't need two of their best players - or their coach - to seal a huge win over the rival Sky. Chicago put up a season-worst 52 points in the 79-52 scoreline, despite a bumper home crowd that had shown up for the game. Indiana guard Kelsey Mitchell led her team in scoring with 17 points, while Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard were both in double figures. Cunningham and Clark, meanwhile, are edging closer to a return from injury. The former is suffering from an ankle issue, while Clark is due back next week after her ankle problem.

BREAKING NEWS Donald Trump arrives at UFC 316 with one-man entourage Dana White months after sitting cageside with Elon Musk
President Donald Trump was Dana White 's guest of honor at UFC 316 in Newark, where he was seen greeting Mike Tyson before watching the UFC Bantamweight title rematch between current champion Merab Dvalishvili and ex-champ Sean O'Malley. Strolling into Newark's Prudential Center with White, Trump took a moment to shake hands with former Tennessee Titans teammates Will Compton and Taylor Lewan before taking his cage-side seat. Fight night was part of a busy weekend for Trump. After jetting to his New Jersey golf club on Friday and attending UFC 316 Saturday night, Trump was scheduled to head to Camp David for Sunday's planned 'retreat of principals,' according to multiple reports. The retreat will also include Vice President JD Vance, among others, and a number of topics are expected to be discussed. Trump last attended a UFC event in April in Miami alongside billionaire Elon Musk, but the President's relationship with his biggest donor has changed considerably since then. On Saturday, Trump warned that Musk would face 'very serious consequences' if he was to start bankrolling Democratic candidates. Their relationship disintegrated earlier this week as the former allies battled it out on social media after disagreeing on Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill.' Speaking with NBC News' Kristen Welker on Saturday, Trump was asked what he would do if Musk crossed the political aisle and donated to Democrats. 'If he does, he'll have to pay the consequences for that. He'll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that', he told out the outlet. Musk, who is worth $330 billion, was a major contributor to Trump's presidential campaign - spending at least $250 million in supporting his race for the White House last year. Asked specifically if he thought his relationship with the mega-billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX is over, Trump responded: 'I would assume so, yeah.' 'I'm too busy doing other things. I won an election in a landslide. I gave him a lot of breaks, long before this happened,' he said. 'I gave him breaks in my first administration, and saved his life in my first administration, I have no intention of speaking to him', Trump added. Musk already said that he would be cutting back on spending on political campaigns ahead of next year's midterm elections. The president also accused Musk of being 'disrespectful to the office of the president.' 'I think it's a very bad thing, because he's very disrespectful,' Trump said. 'You could not disrespect the office of the president.' During their spat, Musk even suggested in a since-deleted post that Trump had been named in the government files involving convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Responding to that remark, Trump said: 'That's called "old news," that's been old news, that has been talked about for years. 'Even Epstein's lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It's old news.' The two dialed back their barbs at each other by Friday night, with both saying that they wished each other well. But by that point, the damage to their relationship looked to be done. Following the outbreak of their feud, Trump and his allies have said Musk turned on the bill because it cuts subsidies for electric vehicles. Musk has said he doesn't need them anyway. Trump is no stranger to the UFC or its President and CEO. In fact, Trump tapped White to speak for him at the last three Republican National Conventions, leading many to wonder if he'd serve a greater role in the White House at some point. 'His base is Trump's base,' Kellyanne Conway, Trump's former White House counselor, previously told The New York Times of White. 'And Trump's base is his base.' White, however, has downplayed any potential Trump appointment. 'Donald Trump is one of my very good friends,' White told Sports Business Journal through a spokesperson. 'He did a great job in his last term as president, and I know he will do an even better job the next four years. I have no personal political aspirations.' Besides, White may provide a greater service to Trump through what The New York Times calls 'cage-match politics.' Trump now makes regular cage-side appearances at UFC events, where fight fans — and the fighters themselves — have showered the former President with adulation.
