Tata Technologies has launched the third edition of its national engineering hackathon, InnoVent 2026 , in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The program is open to third- and fourth-year engineering students across India and focuses on real-world mobility challenges.
This year's theme, 'Innovating the Future of Smart Mobility,' invites students to build solutions using technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Agentic AI, IoT, Embedded Software, Cloud Computing, Digital Twins, and AR/VR. Project areas include software-defined vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, connected communications, autonomous systems, and immersive mobility experiences.
The hackathon follows a three-stage evaluation process: initial screening, virtual Proof of Concept (PoC) presentations, and final demos. Tata Technologies' subject matter experts will mentor the top teams, while AWS will provide selected participants with access to its cloud technologies and conduct hands-on workshops.
Project evaluation criteria include technical diversity, innovation, feasibility, and impact—with an emphasis on agentic systems, physical prototypes, and inclusive team participation. The competition also encourages participation from women and differently abled engineering students.
Top teams will be eligible for cash prizes totaling ₹4.5 lakhs, paid internship opportunities at Tata Technologies, and special recognition awards.

Exicom Tele-Systems to raise up to Rs 260 crore via Rights Issue

Exicom Tele-Systems has announced key decisions following its board meeting held on June 25, 2025. The board approved raising up to ₹260 crore through a rights issue of equity shares. The issue will be offered to existing shareholders, with the final terms—such as price, entitlement ratio, record date, and payment structure—to be decided by a newly formed Rights Issue Committee comprising three directors. In a parallel move, the company also approved converting an outstanding unsecured loan of approximately ₹283.20 crore, including interest, into equity shares in its wholly owned subsidiary, Exicom Power Solutions B.V., based in the Netherlands. This conversion is intended to ease interest-related cash outflows and improve the liquidity and working capital position of the subsidiary, which operates in the electric vehicles sector. The transaction will be carried out in tranches, subject to regulatory approvals under the Foreign Exchange Management Act. The shares in the Dutch entity will be issued at a par value of €1 per share. No fresh cash outflow is involved as the move reflects a reclassification of existing financial exposure from debt to equity.
