Paul Bissonnette's recent post on X reads as, "I was never asked to join the Leafs front office. I think I could help them win a Stanley Cup. I played in 2 NHL playoff games. I shook hands with the Detroit Red Wings after they swept us in Arizona.
I have experience. I shook Nicklas Lidström's sweaty hand. I'm a winner."

I still want to represent DC in IPL 2026: Aussie quick Mitchell Starc
Australia's pace spearhead Mitchell Starc has made it clear that he remains committed to the Delhi Capitals franchise and hopes to return for the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League, despite his absence from the latter half of IPL 2025. Starc opted not to rejoin the Capitals after the tournament resumed post a 10-day suspension due to Operation Sindoor—India's counter-response to a terror attack in Pahalgam. While many Australian cricketers returned, Starc stayed back, citing personal reservations around safety and insufficient clarity at the time. The veteran quick emphasised that his decision was grounded in personal comfort and awareness of the broader situation rather than any lack of commitment to his IPL team. 'I'm happy to stand by what I felt was the right call for me,' he shared. Security and Uncertainty Prompted Decision Starc admitted he had concerns even before Delhi Capitals' 8 May match against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala, a fixture that was eventually abandoned after a power failure led to an emergency evacuation. The match's proximity to the international border only added to his unease, especially with wife Alyssa Healy present in the stands. The left-arm quick said the event reinforced his doubts and helped him reach a firm decision not to return when the tournament resumed. Repercussions Don't Worry Me, Says Starc Acknowledging that some may view his choice critically, Starc said he is prepared to face any consequences. 'Time will tell how it's perceived, but I stand by it,' he said, adding that different players had different comfort levels and situations, and he respected each individual decision. Lack of Information a Key Factor Starc stressed that a lack of timely and reliable information regarding the situation was a major influence. After returning home, he weighed the risks and decided to shift focus towards Test cricket, especially with the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord's on the horizon. Still Loyal to Delhi Capitals Despite the unexpected break, Starc reiterated his loyalty to Delhi Capitals. He said he has never been one to withdraw lightly from a tournament after being selected at auction and that his decision came under exceptional circumstances. 'I still want to be part of this group,' he said, hinting at a strong desire to return next season and continue his IPL journey with the Capitals. Australia Focused Ahead of WTC Final Looking ahead to Australia's WTC final, Starc said the team would stick to their strengths and continue playing their brand of cricket. 'We won't be changing how we play,' he remarked, confident that their tactical consistency will serve them well against South Africa.

Bengaluru Stampede Victim Files FIR Against RCB, Karnataka Cricket Body, DNA Firm
Last Updated: The FIR, which has been filed at the Cubbon Park Police Station, has also named Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and event organiser DNA, responsible for the stampede. In mounting legal woes for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) over its IPL 2025 victory celebrations that led to a fatal stampede in Bengaluru, a man, claiming to be a victim of the incident, has filed First Information Report (FIR) holding the entities responsible for the deadly incident. The FIR, which has been filed at the Cubbon Park Police Station, has also named Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and event organiser DNA agency, responsible for the M Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede which claimed 11 lives and left several others injured. In the FIR, the stampede survivor, identified as 25-year-old Rolan Gomes, who reportedly got fractured his right shoulder joint after getting caught in the stampede, accused the three entities of negligence, saying that they 'failed to make proper arrangements and facilities." The complainant further pointed out that the announcement of the celebration was disseminated widely across RCB's social media platforms. These posts, he noted, specified that entry would be complimentary, with tickets to be distributed at the venue, particularly in the vicinity of Gate No 17, as reported by NDTV. He added that some posts also suggested unofficial ticket sales. Gomes further recounted arriving at one of the stadium gates around 2:15 PM to find a massive crowd of RCB fans. He stated that police officers opened the gate around 3:10 PM, leading to 'thousands of people rushing simultaneously through the narrow gate and the stampede occurred. 'I slipped and fell, and people behind me trampled over those who had fallen. I saw several others lose consciousness due to the crush," the 25-year-old said. 'Their irresponsibility resulted in a tragic situation with loss of life and injuries. Therefore, I am giving this statement requesting that appropriate legal action be taken against them," he added. The second FIR against RCB, the event management firm DNA, and KSCA came a day after the first FIR was registered against them on various charges, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The FIR was filed following a complaint by a police inspector at the Cubbon Park Police Station. The charges listed in the FIR include voluntarily causing hurt (Section 115), causing hurt or grievous hurt by using dangerous weapons or means (Section 118), causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter a public servant from duty (Section 121), and unlawful assembly (Section 190) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Legal Action Against Entities On Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had instructed the DGP and IGP of the state to immediately arrest the representatives of RCB and DNA event managers and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in connection with the stampede, as prima facie there was 'irresponsibility" and 'carelessness" on their part. Earlier today, four officials of RCB and the event management firm DNA Entertainment Private Limited were taken into custody . Hours later, the Karnataka High Court granted interim protection from coercive action against KSCA after they approached the high court. In its writ petition, the KSCA argued that the government is attempting to shift blame onto the association to deflect public outrage over the stampede. The association further claimed that crowd management was not its responsibility and that the FIR was unjustified. What Happened At Chinnaswamy Stadium? A massive crowd gathered to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) first Indian Premier League (IPL) title turned tragic on Wednesday evening when a stampede near M Chinnaswamy Stadium left 11 dead and over 30 injured. Authorities said most of the victims were young men and women, including several students. RCB ended an 18-year wait for the IPL trophy after defeating Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Bengaluru. Post their win, the team arrived in Bengaluru for a felicitation ceremony. Fans had arrived in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their champion team. News india Bengaluru Stampede Victim Files FIR Against RCB, Karnataka Cricket Body, DNA Firm
