Filipino actor Miko Gallardo opens up about past rape, alleged blackmail

The Stara day ago

BL (boy love) actor Miko Gallardo has opened up about being raped, blackmailed, which he said has been going on for 10 years.
In an eight-minute video statement on his YouTube channel on Tuesday, June 10, Gallardo — addressing himself as Dwayne — pleaded for his 'freedom' while claiming that he was a victim of blackmail and extortion 'for a whole decade of [his] life,' underscoring that he wanted the alleged abuse toward him to end.
'For the past 10 years — a whole decade of my life — I have been blackmailed and extorted, and I just want it to end. I'm sending this message out to the person, you know who you are, I will not be dropping any names. I just want this to go and end smoothly with peace,' he said.
'Let me go. I want my freedom. I will be talking in English for everybody to understand. I will be as straightforward as possible. I am begging — I am not asking — I am begging for things to end. I want it to end. I want my freedom. Ten years of this blackmail, threats, and extortion, I am done. I will do whatever you want me to do for things to end,' he continued.
The actor said he is willing to 'end [his] relationship' and settle things through financial means just to achieve his desired freedom, as he stressed that he is already 'done and tired' of what he had been through.
'You want me to end my relationship? I will do it. You want me to pay you back? I will do it. You want whatever, whatever your reason is, whatever your wants are, I will, I will give it. I will do it.
'All I'm asking in return is my freedom and my peace. So I can go about my days and my life without having to worry anymore. I am tired. I'm exhausted. I want to go home. I miss my grandma. Whatever your reasons are for doing this, I'm sorry. But please, I beg you. Please, let me go. Let me have my freedom,' he said.
To explain where he was coming from, Gallardo alleged that he was raped by 'two people whom [he] trusted as older sisters' when he was eight years old, and was 'almost raped by older men' around the same age.
'The only reason why they didn't go through with it was because they almost got caught. But I did not speak up. I was a scared little boy who never talked. But this time, I'll say it all. I don't care. I don't give a (expletive) anymore,' he added.
'At 10 years old, all the way up around 16, 17 — I don't even remember anymore — I had a sexual relationship with an older woman — who was way older. Growing up, that really (expletive) up my mind. Filled my head with anger, lust, and bad choices. And that's the reason maybe why I'm here,' he further added.
The actor also revealed that he was 'sexually assaulted' by unnamed individuals in the entertainment industry, while seemingly addressing a certain individual as 'Filipino P,' an apparent play on music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs' name.
To note, Combs has been on trial for charges of sex trafficking and alleged racketeering.
'When my career started, I got people sexually assaulting me in this industry, in the acting industry. Yeah, Filipino P* did try to get me many, many times. But I never spoke up. They told me to shut up and take it in and just focus on my career. And that messed me up big time. Led me to bad decisions, bad choices, substance abuse, alcohol, you name it,' said Gallardo.
'They never got hold of me because I always try to find a way to reason out or run away. I was never able to fight back. Because if you do, you know what happens when you fight back in this industry. You know what happens. They bury you. I don't want to be buried. Life is about survival. And right now, I am trying to survive,' he further added.
Appeal for survival
To end his statement, Gallardo said he is 'begging' to be free from the unnamed individual who allegedly 'has control over' his life.
'I'm here now, though. I'm still alive, I'm still kicking, begging for my life back from that person who has control over me right now. You know what I've been through,' he said. 'You know the sh*t that I had to crawl my ass out of. So let's make a deal. Let's end things peacefully. Give me a chance to live again. But if you give me no choice and just tell me to end my life while you laugh about it or celebrate over it, you tell me I deserve it, then you leave me no choice.'
The actor also declared that he is the only person who can end the alleged abuse, while reiterating the aforementioned deal to 'end things peacefully.'
'Who gives a sh*t, right? The world keeps spinning anyways. But let me make a deal. I wanna live. I want freedom. If you still have any humanity and sympathy left in you, let me go. Yeah, maybe I can only blame myself for being in this situation, for trusting you. So only I can end it,' he said.
Talks of Gallardo's alleged abuse began last June 4 after he made a cryptic post about seemingly wanting to end his life in a now-expired Instagram Story.
The actor is best known for his lead role in BL (boys' love) projects such as My Day and Our Story. He also made an appearance on the noontime show It's Showtime as a contestant of its Bidaman segment.
Inquirer.net has reached out to Gallardo for further comment about his video statement but has yet to respond, as of this writing.
Meanwhile, Gallardo's agency, Oxin Entertainment, said it has been coordinating with the 'appropriate authorities' to ensure Gallardo's mental well-being, moments after the actor alleged that he was a victim of sexual harassment, blackmail and extortion for quite some time.

Robert Eggers To Write & Direct 'A Christmas Carol'; James Gunn Confirms New 'Wonder Woman' Movie

A film can have the perfect script, the perfect set, or the perfect actor, but without the right director, it will ultimately flop. Believe it or not, this is a belief that has been tested over and over again, and has been the reason why many supposed surefire films died in the water, while other unassuming stories became household names. With that in mind, we're incredibly thankful that two visionary directors are helming the following two highly-anticipated films. Featuring an exciting reboot and a classic retelling, here's our report on what's happening in the world of cinema. Robert Eggers To Bring 'A Christmas Carol' To Life; Willem Dafoe May Be Lead Actor Following the successful Christmas release of 'Nosferatu', director Robert Eggers is looking to scare and terrorise folks again, namely the greedy rich, with another holiday film, one that is more apt for the season. As per Deadline's report, Eggers is working alongside Warner Bros. to bring the classic ghost story 'A Christmas Carol' to the big screen. Not only that, but it has also been reported by insiders that a name is already attached to the project and is set to play the lead role of Ebenezer Scrooge, one Willem Dafoe. Dafoe has been Eggers' muse as of late, as the two have collaborated across three different films: 'The Lighthouse', 'The Northman', and 'Nosferatu'. Once again, Eggers is taking a highly popular classic story and reimagining and retelling it for a modern audience. And much like his previous works, the filmmaker is taking a hands-on approach, as he will be taking on the roles of director and script writer for the film. For those who are unfamiliar with the original source material, 'A Christmas Carol' focuses on Ebenezer Scrooge, an initially cold-hearted miser who absolutely loathes Christmas. He is then visited by his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Originally penned by legendary English fictionist Charles Dickens in 1843, the story has seen multiple reinterpretations and still persists today not only as a Christmas tale, but also as a critical piece of English literature. When you give it enough thought, this is actually a match made in heaven. Throughout his career, Eggers has been well known for setting his films in the 1800s. Add to that his meticulous obsession with quality, authenticity, and accuracy, and it's no surprise that period films have become his speciality. Combine that with the story's innate supernatural elements, and you have the makings of a truly epic film. In the meantime though, we must wait for Eggers to complete his work on his current feature project 'Werwulf', which will start filming later this year. New 'Wonder Woman' Now In The Works We are roughly a month or so away from the highly-anticipated release of the new 'Superman' movie, the first major entry in DC Studios' new DCU. But before the reimagined Kryptonian can take flight, Gunn has already broken the news about the company's latest project in the development pipeline, and it's about the Amazonian princess we all know and love. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn has revealed that a 'Wonder Woman' movie is officially in the works. The DC CEO has gone on record saying that the 'Wonder Woman' movie is 'being written right now', but added the small detail that the writing process is 'slow moving, but it's moving.' As to how much has been written is anyone's guess right now. Additionally, Gunn has not confirmed who is writing the script either, so it is an absolute mystery that we have to get back to at a later date. What is confirmed, as per Variety's reporting, is that Gal Gadot will not be reprising her role due to various internal conflicts that have happened at DC. So now, it is an even bigger mystery on who Gunn and co. are eyeing for the role. DC has taken a similar approach to Marvel and its MCU in that they are planning to release a steady stream of content, both made for streaming and the big screen, to help shape the continuity of the DC Universe across multiple forms of media. The first chapter, dubbed 'Gods and Monsters', is designed to be the foundation of the core characters that we might see in future films as well as set the tone for subsequent chapters. With other projects now underway, such as Craig Gillespie's 'Supergirl' and HBO's 'Lanterns' coming to fruition, we're slowly seeing what they mean by 'Gods and Monsters'. Trilingual book on Kayan folklore launched in Miri

Dennis (seated centre) with (seated, from second left) Yasuka, Yuhki, Roselind and others during the launch of 'Lung Lebui: A Kayan Folktale Collection'. MIRI (June 12): A Kayan folklore book titled 'Lung Lebui: A Kayan Folktale Collection' written in Kayan, English and Japanese was launched in Miri yesterday. The 28-page book revolves around Lebui and his wife and features four folk tales well-known to the older Kayan generation. It will be making its way into schools, libraries and universities. Sarawak Kayan Association president Datuk Dennis Ngau officiated the launch of the book, which is a Curtin University Malaysia community project. 'What makes it even more meaningful to me personally is because this 'Lung Lebui' is my generation's version of today's Netflix to kids. 'There are many versions of Lung Lebui, but I recall one told my father as particularly spine-chilling, especially as we lay down in our makeshift farm-house smack in the middle of the Borneo jungle during farming season,' said the Telang Usan assemblyman when met at the Forum Cultural Centre here. Dennis hoped with the launch of the book, more Kayans would be encouraged to research and write about their own community, including the publication of more Kayan folklore. The project was organised by Curtin University Malaysia in collaboration with linguistics lecturers from Kyushu University and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. It is a collaborative effort between Dr Roselind Wan from Curtin University Malaysia; Dr Yasuka Fukaya from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Kyushu University; Yuhki Takeuchi, an independent artist affiliated with Studio Ghibli and Sony Interactive Entertainment; and Usun Anyi, a storyteller from Long Panai, Baram. Yasuka, who was researching Kelabit language grammar, first met Roselind in Singapore – kick-starting the journey which led to the publication of the book. According to Curtin University Malaysia's acting pro vice-chancellor and dean of learning and teaching Tang Fu Ee, the book is both a scholarly milestone and heartfelt tribute to Sarawak's rich cultural heritage. 'This is more than a book – it is a bridge between generations, cultures, oral tradition and written legacy. It brings the voices of the Kayan people into the hands of children, educators and readers across the region and beyond. 'It affirms that indigenous stories, which are rich with wisdom, values and imagination, belong not only to the past but also our shared future,' he said. Also present were Kayan paramount chief Temenggong Elizabeth Deng, community leaders, teachers and academicians. Dennis Ngau Kayan folklore book lead Lung Lebui miri

Trump wants to 'liberate' Los Angeles, residents say 'no thanks'

A man in a car uses his mobile phone as members of law enfocement stand guard on a road after curfew, as protests against federal immigration sweeps continue, in downtown Los Angeles, California, U.S. June 10, 2025. REUTERS/Leah Millis (Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump says he sent in the National Guard and Marines to "liberate" Los Angeles from the violence of protesters, but some residents of Little Tokyo, a neighborhood hit hardest by the unrest say "no thanks" Mr President. A dozen people who live, work or frequent the neighborhood, where Japanese is heard spoken as frequently as English in shops and restaurants, on Tuesday told Reuters that Trump's use of the military was inflaming the protests against recent immigration raids in Los Angeles. "The president sending in the National Guard and Marines has only made things worse, it's made the protesters go crazy," said Sulieti Havili, who lives nearby and helps run a Pokemon club with over 6,000 members that routinely plays in Little Tokyo. "They are doing nothing to protect this community." Havili, 25, who was out picking up trash in Little Tokyo with her Pokemon club partner Nolberto Aguilar, 42, said it was clear to her that Trump sending in thousands of military personnel had "brought out the worst in the protesters" and only served to aggravate the situation. Aguilar added that Trump's deployment of troops was thwarting the will of most Los Angeles citizens and local leaders, fanning the flames created by ICE immigration raids, that he said targeted law-abiding immigrants. The Trump administration says its immigration raids are rounding up de facto criminals for lacking proper documents to stay in the United States. California Governor Gavin Newsom has said the use of military personnel to combat the protests had "inflamed a combustible situation" and warned that "democracy is under assault." Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has said that Trump's use of troops was a deliberate effort to create "chaos." The Trump administration strongly rejects the accusations and says their actions were needed in the face of local and state leaders inability to get the situation under control. 'INSTIGATING' ACTION Little Tokyo, a charming neighborhood with shops selling Japanese goods and restaurants serving up some of the city's finest sushi, abuts the federal buildings where protesters have gathered for five nights in a row. For the past two nights, when police and National Guard troops have forcibly dispersed protesters in the early evening, demonstrators scatter into smaller groups into Little Tokyo, which has been covered with anti-ICE and anti-Trump graffiti. Running skirmishes well into the night in the neighborhood has seen police use booming flash-bangs and firing other "less lethal" munitions at protesters. Several of those interviewed in Little Tokyo asked that they not be named, saying they feared reprisals - from the federal government. Many were immigrants themselves or had family members who were not born in the U.S., and feared making themselves or their loved ones targets of ICE. One of those was Anthony, who works at a tea shop in the neighborhood. "There is no question that the president sending in thousands of National Guard and 700 Marines has done nothing but make the protesters more aggressive," he said. "It's instigating the protesters and making things worse." Samantha Lopez, a descendent of Filipino immigrants who works at a Korean ice cream parlor in Little Tokyo, said she felt empathy for the demonstrators but rejected any acts of vandalism or violence they carry out. Still, she blamed the use of military personnel for creating the unrest. "It's just poor handling of protests that stay peaceful until they're confronted by officers," Lopez said. "It's bad for business, and it's bad for this neighborhood." (Reporting by Brad Brooks in Los Angeles; Editing by Michael Perry)
