The Indian women's cricket team faces its Sri Lankan counterpart to kick-off the Tri-Nation ODI series in Sri Lanka on Sunday at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The Women in Blue return to 50-over action after clinching a dominant 3-0 home series win over Ireland in January, while Sri Lanka is coming off a 1-1 tied series against New Zealand last month.
The first time the two nations met in a women's One-Day International was back in 2000 in December which saw India beat Sri Lanka by a massive margin of 141 runs.

Gautam Gambhir's mother stable, coach to rejoin squad in England on June 17: Report
Head coach Gautam Gambhir is all set to rejoin the Indian team in Leeds on Tuesday, 17 June, three days ahead of the first Test in a five-match series against England. While Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul are expected to continue opening the innings, the No. 3 position remains uncertain. Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy launch delayed due to Ahmedabad air tragedy
LONDON: The launch of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy for the upcoming Test series between India and England has been delayed due to the recent airline tragedy in Ahmedabad which led to 275 deaths. Previously called the Pataudi Trophy in honour of former India captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, the decision to rename it as Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy (ATT) was taken by the host England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). "Yes, the launch of ATT Trophy (which was to be held originally on June 14) has been delayed due to the recent tragedy in Ahmedabad. It has not been cancelled. Hopefully, there will be a launch in next few days just before the start of the series," a BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity. More than 50 British nationals also lost their lives in the crash. The Air India flight 171 was travelling to London and crashed within minutes of take off. The renaming of the trophy is an ode to two living legends England pacer James Anderson and Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar. The series starting June 20 in Leeds will feature five Test matches. It has also been learnt that the ECB has received a request from the BCCI to retain the Pataudi connection to the series by having an individual honour named after him. As per sources, Tendulkar and ICC chairman Jay Shah want Pataudi's name to remain associated with the marquee series keeping in mind the late captain's contribution to Indian cricket.

Rana had played the first unofficial Test against the James Rew-led England Lions team in Canterbury, collecting a solitary wicket, that of Josh Hull, for 99 runs. Several members of the India A squad have reportedly received offers from County teams, but it isn't clear whether Rana's case is of a similar nature. The Agarkar-led selection committee back picked Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep and Shardul Thakur in the pace department for the tour of England along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been picked as the lone seam-bowling all-rounder for the upcoming series.
