Saturday is another stacked day of March Madness action.
Here's what I'm most excited for for the tournament action for the day.
It starts and almost ends with Cal versus Pitino.
Sure, we could say it's Arkansas versus Saint John's, but what are we really looking for here?
We want villain v. villain, two of the most polarizing to say of politely coaches in basketball history going head to head is what we need in our lives.
Saint John's.
2 seed, they should win this game.
But you just never know.
I just want to see Darth Vader take on Darth Vader like the Spider-Man meme that it's going to be.
Now, other things I'm excited for, I'd love to tell you, Drake here.
I like it when Cinderella dances, but Drake's about to take on Texas Tech.
I have a feeling that Drake, the basketball team is about to be used as badly as Drake the singer is.
It's gonna be like taking on Kendrick Lamar.
So what other games are good, McNeeese, come on, that's a Cinder.
we can get behind McNeeese taking on Purdue.
No, don't think that this is Purdue of last year.
It is not.
Yes, there are 4 seed.
Yes, I do believe the Big 10 has been underrated, but McNeee plays this wide open offense.
If they shoot as well as they did in the first round, you never know what could happen and we got our pickup.
The action everybody's got their eye on.
B BYU taking on Wisconsin.
This one's interesting to me because nobody.
Really believed in BYU in the first round.
Everybody seemed to think that VCU would take them down.
So now a clunky BYU team takes on a Wisconsin team that frankly, most people thought was overseeded as a 3.
Michigan won the Big 10.
Wisconsin got the higher seed.
Wisconsin's offense disappears sometimes.
I'm interested to see which team actually puts it together for a full game.
It is going to be a wild slate of Saturday action.

Ben Askren, a former mixed martial arts competitor who fought in the Olympics and UFC, was hospitalized recently with a severe illness, his wife said in a post on social media. Amy Askren revealed that her husband was fighting off a sickness in a post on Facebook on Saturday. "You may have heard that my husband Ben is going through something. He developed severe pneumonia which came on very suddenly," she wrote. "He's currently in the hospital and unable to respond to anything at this time. "We welcome all prayers for healing and for peace. We are trying to keep life as normal as possible for our children currently and doing our best to support them thoughtfully so please refrain from discussing it with them for now." Ben Askren recently signed with Real American Freestyle – the Hulk Hogan venture hoping to popularize professional freestyle wrestling. Askren, 40, was an NCAA champion in the 170-pound division in 2006 and 2007 and went on to compete for Team USA in the 2008 Olympics. He won gold medals in the 2005 Pan American Championships and the 2009 World Championships. He made his full transition to MMA fighting when he debuted in Bellator in 2010. He then competed in ONE Championship before taking on UFC. He defeated Robbie Lawler via submission at UFC 235 before he lost to Jorge Masvidal in a high-profile bout. Auburn basketball jumps in ESPN's preseason rankings following Tahaad Pettiford's decision ESPN's Jeff Borzello feels that Auburn will be a strong squad with Tahaad Pettiford in its lineup. In a world without Tahaad Pettiford, the Auburn Tigers looked primed to take a major step back from the success of a Final Four season in 2024-2025. With the sophomore sharpshooter back on board after withdrawing his name from the NBA Draft, Bruce Pearl's team is now talented enough to strive towards replicating last year's run. Many experts across the college basketball world agree, as the Tigers have jumped up early rankings after the news last season's fantastic freshman would "run it back" in 2025-26. One of those experts ESPN's Jeff Borzello, recently tabbed the Tigers as the No. 14 team in the country, which also happens to be fourth in the SEC. The No. 14 Tigers trail the defending champion Florida Gators (No. 2), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 9) and Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 11) among the SEC programs on the list. Alabama (No. 17) and Tennessee (No. 23) are the only other ranked teams from the conference. Three other squads on Auburn's 2025-2026 schedule rank ahead of the Tigers as well, with No. 1 ranked Purdue and last year's runner up Houston (No. 3) rounding out Borzello's trio at the top. Arizona, who the Tigers will begin a home-and-home series with this year, ranks one spot ahead of Auburn, at No. 13. Despite Auburn beating all but one of those teams (Florida) last season, Borzello explains the ranking was due to "Bruce Pearl's roster faces an overhaul" as he cited the sudden departure of Chad Baker-Mazara as a major loss. Still, Pearl's additions of Texas Tech guard Kevin Overton, UCF forward and BIG 12 leading scorer Keyshawn Hall, and Mississippi State forward KeShawn Murphy give Auburn proven, Power 4, big time talent. It is important to note preseason rankings, specifically ones done in June, aren't often accurate. Auburn's ranking at the No. 14 spot should say more about the Tigers ability to reload and make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament again than it does indicate a step back. For reference, Bruce Pearl's squad was ranked all the way back at No. 18 in last season's preseason AP Poll. Former Iowa basketball assistant reportedly lands new role in SEC Former Iowa basketball standout and recent Hawkeye assistant coach Matt Gatens is reportedly set for a new gig in the SEC. According to Justin Hokanson of Auburn Live win On3, Gatens is joining Bruce Pearl's staff at Auburn as the Tigers' general manager. Gatens would help oversee and influence transfer portal recruiting, high school recruiting, NIL requirements, scouting and roster strategy. Gatens' ties to Bruce Pearl and the Auburn program date back to his work as a graduate assistant with Auburn during the 2017-18 season when the Tigers won the SEC championship. Gatens' father, Mike Gatens, was a close friend of Pearl during Pearl's time as an assistant at Iowa from 1986-1992. The 35-year-old spent each of the past three seasons as an assistant coach on Fran McCaffery's staff. But, after McCaffery's dismissal, Gatens was not retained on staff by new Iowa head men's basketball coach Ben McCollum. Prior to his three seasons as an assistant coach in Iowa City, Gatens spent four seasons on Drake's coaching staff. Gatens served as director of operations his first two years at Drake before being elevated to an assistant coach in his last two seasons. The former Iowa Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior at Iowa City High School, Gatens was a four-year starter for the Hawkeyes from 2009-12. His final two seasons were McCaffery's first two as Iowa's head coach. During Gatens' senior season, Iowa advanced to the NIT for its first postseason appearance under McCaffery and for its first postseason appearance in six seasons. Gatens was a two-time All-Big Ten selection, two-time team captain, two-time academic all-conference honoree, recipient of the 2012 Chris Street Award, and voted to the 2009 Big Ten All-Freshman team. Gatens amassed 1,635 points and 239 3-pointers ranking 10th and third, respectively, in Iowa history. In 128 career games, he averaged 12.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.
