'Sels having the season of his life'
A Nottingham Forest goalkeeping legend was anointed three years ago when Brice Samba sent the Reds through to the Championship play-off final in a penalty shootout.
That mantle is now passed to Matz Sels, who saw Forest into the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday with the winning penalty save against Ipswich Town.
Admittedly, it is not the actual FA Cup final. But there is just one game separating the remaining eight clubs and a semi-final at Wembley. It is another remarkable step in the Reds' incredible journey this year - their eyes now on the business end of the campaign.

Sels has been all-important to Nuno Espirito Santo's team this season. The Belgian keeper appeared to be a stop-gap replacement just over a year ago when he arrived from Strasbourg, but he has been at the heart of the club's success ever since.
With 11 clean sheets in the Premier League - more than any other keeper - he, like most of this Forest side, is having the season of his life. His save percentage, goals prevented and almost every stat going is in the top three in the division, only bettered by Alisson and David Raya at the top two clubs.
Nuno, a former keeper himself, has been able to build on the foundations that already existed on Trentside, but taken them to a level few imagined.
Nobody wanted another FA Cup tie with extra time and penalties but the euphoria a cup run brings is worth the momentum alone.
Forest's last FA Cup quarter-final was in that same promotion-winning season, ending in a narrow 1-0 defeat by Liverpool. Can the Reds go one step further?
Another raucous atmosphere at the City Ground on Saturday against Manchester City could lift them even higher, with the bond between players, manager and fans clearly evident in Monday's post-match celebrations.

Cumbrian goalkeeper leaves Manchester City after six years
CUMBRIAN goalkeeper Scott Carson has left Manchester City after six years, the Premier League club has announced. The 39-year-old shotstopper, from Cleator Moor, will leave Pep Guardiola's Manchester City upon the expiry of his contract this summer. The experienced goalkeeper, whose 21-year professional career has included spells at Liverpool, Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic, and Derby County, initially joined Manchester City on loan from the Rams in 2019, before joining City permanently on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. The Cumbrian goalkeeper made his debut for Guardiola's Manchester City in May 2021, in a victory against Newcastle United, before making a second appearance in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 against Sporting CP. Writing on their website, Manchester City confirmed the Cumbrian keeper's departure. They said: "During his time at City, Carson has been praised by goalkeeping coach Xabi Mancisidor and peers Ederson and Stefan Ortega Moreno for his work ethic and the effect of his positive attitude amongst the group. "He has been part of a squad that has lifted 12 major honours over the last six seasons during what has been a historic period of success for Pep Guardiola's team. "Everyone at Manchester City would like to thank Scott for his hard work and dedication and wish him the very best of luck for the future."

Cherries confirm released and retained list after record-breaking season
THE Cherries have confirmed their released and retained list after the 2024/25 Premier League season. With no first team players out of contract, every player in the squad which played a part in a record-breaking campaign has been retained. Kepa Arrizabalaga returns to his parent club of Chelsea, amid reports that Arsenal are advancing a deal to sign the Spaniard. Max Aarons, Philip Billing, Romain Faivre, Eli Junior Kroupi, Chris Mepham, Neto, Alex Paulsen, Joe Rothwell, Hamed Traore and Mark Travers all return from their loans.
