The Chicago Sky defeated the Dallas Wings on Saturday night by a score of 94-83, giving them their second win of the 2025 WNBA season. The Wings dropped to 1-6 on the year, with this latest loss coming without rookie guard Paige Bueckers in the lineup. This record puts Dallas at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

Guard DiJonai Carrington had a solid performance for Dallas despite the loss, pitching in 16 points, a season-high six assists and three rebounds.
During Saturday's matchup, Carrington was called for a flagrant foul late in the third quarter after a block attempt on Sky guard Ariel Atkins. The play has caused quite a stir among WNBA fans.
Upon further review, fans felt a flagrant foul was not a justifiable punishment, as they believe Carrington missed Atkins entirely. Several fans took to social media to voice their complaints about the issuing of a flagrant.
"I was there in person and didn't see it," one fan responded.

"It's definitely a foul. Lots of body contact," a fan replied. "But it should just be a common foul, nothing flagrant there."
"Flagrant but she didn't hit her with her arm at all lol," another added.
"She went for the ball," a fan replied. "A foul could be called but a flagrant foul is another terrible WNBA officiating call."

"Terrible referee call, the W has no credibility 😂," a fan chimed in.
"They called it a flagrant foul for the wind up which I think is absolutely ridiculous," another fan added.
"This call being upgraded changed the game," one fan wrote. "There was no contract above the shoulders Just how are you supposed to go for a block."

"Looks like a pretty standard foul to me," another fan responded.
Despite the questionable call, Carrington is averaging 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in her first season with the Wings. She spent the previous four with the Connecticut Sun after being drafted in 2021.
The Wings will be back in action on Tuesday, as they take on the Seattle Storm. As for the Sky, they will have to wait until June 7 to play their first game of the 2025 WNBA Commissioner's Cup. They will take on the 2-4 Indiana Fever in Chicago.

Indiana Fever start Commissioner's Cup play Tuesday. How the in-season tournament works

NDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever start Commissioner's Cup play on Tuesday night, starting the fight for a half-million prize pool. The Commissioner's Cup, which started in 2021, is an annual in-season tournament. The WNBA revamped the cup rules and play in 2024, shortening the number of pool play games from 10 to five and putting all those games in the span of two weeks. Here's how the Commissioner's Cup works: The Commissioner's Cup is the WNBA's in-season tournament, pitting the Eastern and Western Conferences against each other. Teams will play five games against different conference opponents, and those games — which are also a part of the regular season — will run from June 3-17. Eastern Conference teams include the Atlanta Dream, Connecticut Sun, Chicago Sky, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty, and Washington Mystics. Western Conference Teams are the Minnesota Lynx, Phoenix Mercury, Dallas Wings, Golden State Valkyries, Seattle Storm, Los Angeles Sparks, and Las Vegas Aces. The Eastern Conference teams will play five games as part of cup play, but the Western Conference teams, with the addition of the Golden State Valkyries this season, will play six games in cup play. The two teams with the best cup play in their respective conferences will play in the Commissioner's Cup final, which will be on July 1. This game does not count toward the regular-season win-loss record. The team with the highest winning percentage throughout cup play will host the game. If there's a tie in the winning percentage, home-court advantage will be determined by the point differential in cup play. The grand prize is a $500,000 pool to be split among the winning team, which would amount to around $45,000 per player. Coinbase added about $120,000 to the pool, as well, and all players in the Commissioner's Cup final will get at least $5,000 in cryptocurrency. The Fever have not won the Commissioner's Cup, or even been in the final, since the tournament started in 2021. Seattle won in 2021, Las Vegas in 2022, New York in 2023, and Minnesota in 2024. 7 p.m. Tues., June 3: Washington at Indiana 8 p.m. Sat., June 7: Indiana at Chicago 7:30 p.m. Tues., June 10: Indiana at Atlanta 3 p.m. Sat. WNBA Teams Signs NBA Finals Player's Sister and Award-Winning Guard

WNBA Teams Signs NBA Finals Player's Sister and Award-Winning Guard originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the 2025 WNBA season approaches, the Phoenix Mercury have been busy finalizing their roster after a tough preseason. Among their latest moves was signing Megan McConnell, a standout guard from Duquesne and the younger sister of NBA star T.J. McConnell, who just helped the Indiana Pacers reach the NBA Finals. Advertisement McConnell joined Phoenix on a training camp contract after going undrafted, aiming to make her mark in the league. 'Honestly, I couldn't believe it when I got that call from my agent,' she said. 'Phoenix was excited about me and wanted to offer me a training camp. I just couldn't be happier.' Phoenix Mercury guard Megan McConnell (16) during media day at Mountain America Performance Center in Schumacher/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images McConnell's signing added another exciting chapter to the McConnell family legacy. Had she made the final roster, she and T.J. would've become the first undrafted siblings to play in both the NBA and WNBA, according to Forbes' Tony East. While she didn't make the Mercury's 12-player final roster, the milestone remains within reach. During her time at Duquesne, McConnell posted impressive stats, averaging 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in her senior season. She played in both preseason games for Phoenix, including a memorable moment when she drained a clutch three-pointer to cut a late-game deficit. She finished with 3 points, 1 assist, and 1 steal per game in limited minutes. Ultimately, Phoenix waived McConnell, along with Celeste Taylor and Temira Poindexter, to make room for final roster choices following the retirement of Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner's move to Atlanta. However, with her drive and talent, McConnell's WNBA journey might just be beginning. As Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette noted, 'Another chapter to the McConnell family story—it just keeps going.' Caitlin Clark's Former Teammate Lands New Team After 0 Minutes with Indiana Fever

Caitlin Clark's Former Teammate Lands New Team After 0 Minutes with Indiana Fever originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The WNBA season is just a few weeks old, and already roster moves are shaking things up. Early-season injuries and teams reassessing their needs have sparked a wave of changes. Advertisement One of the more recent players on the move is Jaelyn Brown, a teammate of Caitlin Clark for about three months. Despite her time on the roster, Brown never played a single minute for the Indiana Fever. Clark is sidelined with an injury, but Brown didn't get the chance to step in. She was waived by Indiana on May 13, four days before the Fever's first regular-season game and three months after being acquired in a Feb. 2 trade with the Dallas Wings. On Monday morning, the Connecticut Sun announced a new addition to their roster: "ROSTER UPDATE: Connecticut Sun Sign Jaelyn Brown." Brown, who went undrafted after her college career with California Golden Bears, was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 in her senior season. That year, she averaged 15.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Advertisement Since college, Brown has played internationally with stints in France, Sweden, Turkey, Hungary, Mexico and Israel. In February 2024, she landed a training camp contract with the Dallas Wings. She appeared in 14 games for the Wings, starting once, and averaged 2.6 points per game. Former Indiana Fever guard Jaelyn Smith-USA TODAY Network via Imagn Images Connecticut is hoping Brown can help them turn things around offensively. The Sun rank dead last in the WNBA in scoring at just 70.9 points per game. They're also struggling with efficiency, shooting just 39.6 percent from the field. Rebounding hasn't been much better, as they're also last in that category at 31.3 boards per game. Brown joins the Sun following a tough 48-point loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday. She'll look to make her debut Friday when Connecticut hosts the Atlanta Dream.
