Police officer visited swinger while on duty
A former police officer had sex with a woman he met on a swingers' website while on duty.
PC Stuart Greaney would have been sacked had he not already resigned, said a Hertfordshire Police misconduct panel.
The officer admitted knowing the woman and going to her home but denied having sex with her.
However, the panel found the woman was telling the truth and there was enough evidence to believe the meeting had taken place as alleged.
The officer joined the Metropolitan Police in March 2009 and transferred to Hertfordshire Constabulary in December 2022.
He met a woman referred to by the panel as 'Ms A' on a swingers' website.
Following an exchange of messages he drove to her address on 16 June 2023 using his police motorcycle and wearing his police uniform.
Mr Greaney met Ms A at about 14:24 BST, more than 30 minutes before his shift was finished.
The panel said once there he engaged in consensual intercourse with the woman, despite being on duty, and was at the address for about 20 minutes.
Ms A told the panel she felt "used and angry" when he stopped visiting her and seemingly sought out other women on the site.
Exactly a year after their meeting, 16 June 2024, Mr Greaney left the force and did not engage with the disciplinary process.
The panel concluded he had committed gross misconduct and his name was added to the police barring list, meaning he can never again work in policing.

Pittsfield PD's 'Operation Copsicle' inspires San Antonio Police ice cream truck, uniting community through popsicles and prayer
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – What started as a sweet summertime tradition in Pittsfield to connect police officers with the community has now inspired a similar initiative nearly 2,000 miles away in San Antonio, Texas. Operation Copsicle delivers smiles, free treats in Pittsfield San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) recently launched its ice cream truck initiative, Police, Popsicles, and Prayer, aimed at fostering trust, dialogue, and inclusion in neighborhoods across the city. The effort takes its cues from Operation Copsicle, a Pittsfield Police Department program that has gained national recognition for using frozen treats to engage with local youth and families. The connection between the two departments came about last year when SAPD Community Officer Greene met Pittsfield Officer Derby at a Community Policing Conference. There, Officer Greene learned about Operation Copsicle and brought the concept back to Texas. Working in partnership with Unite SA Network, a local faith-based organization, SAPD officially rolled out its ice cream truck program earlier this year. A photo shared by Pittsfield Police shows SAPD officers standing with residents–including Pittsfield locals Kayla and Catie, who coincidentally encountered the truck while visiting San Antonio a few months ago. 'This is now the fifth police department in the U.S. and Canada to implement their version of a police ice cream truck after connecting with us,' Pittsfield Police said in a social media post. From Massachusetts to Texas, the mission remains the same: building community trust, one popsicle at a time. Boy shot, wounded near community center in Matteson, Illinois
A boy was shot and wounded Tuesday afternoon near a community center in the south Chicago suburb of Matteson. At 4:22 p.m., police and paramedics were called to the Matteson Community Center, at 20642 Matteson Ave., for a person shot. They found a boy of an unspecified age, but described as a juvenile, inside the community center with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The boy was rushed to the emergency room. Matteson police investigators learned there had been a fight between the boy and another person outside the community center that led to the shooting, police said. The shooting took place outside the community center, police said. The shooter ran off on foot, while the victim entered the community center seeking assistance, police said. The suspected shooter was taken into custody about two hours later in Richton Park after a brief pursuit, police said. Investigators are working with community center staff to review surveillance video, and the community center was closed for the investigation. It was expected to reopen in the morning. Police do not believe the community is in danger.
